Annabeth's POV

Today's Wednesday, halfway through the first week of school. Instinctively I reached up to my neck, where my necklace should be. I sighed wishing it was there. I can't believe I lost it. You might think oh its just a silly necklace and plus you can always ask your mother for another one. This necklace is different. It was made by my Uncle Tyson a few years before he died. (AN: no in this story Tyson isn't Percy's younger brother. He was Athena's brother and Annabeth's uncle before he died.) He gave it to my mother who, after he died, gave it to me. Uncle Tyson knew owls were my mother's favorites and they've come to be mine too.

"Annabeth you're going to be late for school!" The maid Myra called up the stairs. I know what your thinking, Annabeth Chase has a maid! Yes I do in fact we have a few. Mother and I live in a huge penthouse in one of the finer buildings in the town. We have three maids, a chef, a personal trainer (for my mother), and a nanny. The nanny, Susan isn't really a nanny. When I was little she looked after me and was more like a mother to me than Athena. Now she does stuff like answer the phone, get the door, help me with homework (although I never need it), go grocery shipping, and all the things a normal mother would do. Athena is to busy for that stuff. The maids Myra, Emily, and Jen clean and do other things maids typically do. Jeff, mom's personal trainer doesn't live with us. He comes once a week for mother but between you and me I think she's going to fire him. She always complains that he doesn't understand how busy she is and that she can't put up with him anymore. John, the chef, is very good at his job and can basically read our minds about what food we want. Susan is basically part on the family so she can get away with arguing with Athena and not get fired. Although mom won't admit it she needs her too much to fire her and there's also the fact that I'd run away from home to live with Susan if she did.

"Annabeth honey hurry up!" Susan called. I grabbed my bag and ran out the door. My little yorkie Sparkles came running over to me. She was the cutest, cuddliest, most perfect dog ever.

(AN: Sparkles is based of my friends yorkie, Sparkles) I picked her up an brought her over to sit on my lap as I ate the wonderful breakfast chef made me.

In math class I was zoning out as we learned the same boring stuff I'd known since ninth grade.

"Annabeth , since you seem to think it's okay to daydream in my class why don't you come up here and solve the problem." I shrugged and walked up to the board.

Formula: I=RPT

R= 45 p=73 t=38

I=45 • 73 •38

I= 124830

I sat down and pretty much everyone in the room was staring at me, stunned. Mrs. Peterson was the same way.

The bell wrung and I bolted out of the classroom. Travis Stoll and Grover were in my advanced math class. They ran after me.

"Whoa whoa whoa where's your hidden calculator?" Travis asked smirking.

"I didn't use a calculator!" He smirked and pulled out a calculator.

"Okay then I'll test you. 62 ו 93?"

"5,766" I replied instantly. He looked up at me impressed.

"31 • 92 • 47?" Grover asked, chiming in.

"134,044" I answered smoothly. Grover looked astonished.

"105 • 542 • 363?" Conner asked, having just arrived. Travis high fived him and they looked as if they thought they'd win.

"20,658,330 come on guys give me a hard one!" I said smiling. Now Thalia, Jason, and Katie had joined along with the forming of a small crowd.

"Okay" Thalia said smiling evily.

"23 • 52 • 86 • 39 • 42 • 15?" She asked, the crowd gasped as I worked. It was quiet for a minute and just when they thought they'd stumped me I yelled;

"252,717,1920!" Travis nodded and everyone cheered.

Rachel Dare's pov:

For years Annabeth Chase has been perfect! She's absolutely gorgeous, a genius, rich, humble, friendly, popular, brave, roll model worthy, athletic, everyone's friend, ugh!

"Girls we have to find a way to take her down, there is absolutely no way that she'll win prom queen, got it?!" I yelled. They nodded. I put on a fake sugary smile.

"And who's going to be prom queen?" I spoke as if I was a mother quizzing her five year old child.

"You!" They all answered.

"Good." I said looking back at them. These idiots would be no where without me, they're so dumb that they can't even see that they're practically my servants. Honestly they do everything I say without question, they'd even get detention for me. Are they dumb or what.

Annabeth Chase is a smart girl, everyone knows that but why is she friends with all those people, she's nice to them too. What's she getting out of it? I know there's got to be something, no one is nice to someone without a reason. When I do find out why I'll expose it to everyone an she'll be hated.

"Um Rach are you ok?" Drew asked. Oops

I zoned out.

"Yea fine, now come on girls we've got a lot of work to do." I smiled and walked straight down the middle of the halls, daring anyone to get in my way. They all scrambled to the sides faster than the people in Pompeii. I put on a small smile. I love being Rachel Elizabeth Dare.
