Hooray! I already have my first reviewer! So now I should probably respond to it (of course!)

Guest: Thank you! I know the first chapter was short, but I couldn't reveal too much! And trust me, this story will be a good long one! I'll update as much as possible.

tagiru akashi: Thank you! I've been a major fan of Pokemon ever since I could understand how to work the Gameboy! It'll always be one of my favorite video games! As for the story, it's going along really nicely and I'm excited for the things I have in store for the future!

Another day, another chapter! I'm ready to write this exciting chapter, there's a lot of CalemxSerena involved as well as some secrets that will be revealed! So without further ado, enjoy!

"Hey you! Yeah you, the girl in the red fedora! Wanna battle?" a random guy asked as he approached Serena.

"Who are you?" Serena cocked her head to the side quizzically as she approached the stranger. "My name is not important, I'm just a bored person looking for someone to battle with! So are you going to battle me or not?

"Well, alright! How many Pokemon do you have?"

To answer her question, the man pulled out four pokeballs and smiled daringly. "I have 4 Pokemon, but I'd be willing to battle with 3 or 2."

" Oh good, because I only have 2. What type of Pokemon do you have?" Serena asked.

"I have a water type, a grass type, a steel type, and a bug type. What type do you want to battle with?" the man asked, eyeing her Charamander with interest.

"Let's battle with the grass type and the bug type! Those are the 2 I'm most familiar with besides fire." Serena smiled deviously, trying to trick the guy. She actually knew more about water than grass or bug, but she knew that her fire type Pokemon would be weak to water.

"What grass and bug type Pokemon do you have?" Serena asked, curious to know what she was battling with.

"I have Weedle and Skiddo! They're both level 5. What about your Pokemon?"

Serena nerously smiled, hoping that the man didn't know that fire was strong against grass and bug. "I have two fire pokemon, Luke and Sunny." she said as she pointed to her Charmander and Fennekin.

Thankfully, the guy didn't seem to realize, as he gave her an excited smile. Alright then, let's battle!"

The guy called out his Skiddo, commanding him to use Tackle. However, Skiddo didn't even get to make his move, because before he did, Sunny knocked him out with a critical Scratch hit. Then, he sent out Weedle, but he was still unsuccessful in the battle.

Serena admitted that he was a good trainer, but his Weedle and Skiddo were no match for her Charmander and Fennekin. At most, his Weedle managed to poison Luke before he knocked him out with a powerful Ember attack.

"Good boy Luke! Return!" Serena called as she held out her pokeball.

The guy's jaw dropped as he reluctantly reached into his pocket and forked over the cash. Serena took it with happiness in her eyes, and she jumped up and down for joy, squealing something about winning her second battle.

When she was finally done, she realized that the guy had left, and so she continued her way to Santalune City. When she entered the forest however, she heard a voice call her name, so she spun around, only to come face to face with Calem.

"Serena, that was an amazing battle!" Calem slightly smiled, avoiding eye contact with her while slightly blushing.

"Oh, thanks Calem! Yeah, I'm trying to train to become as good as the Champion! One day I want to beat Diantha and become the ultimate Pokemon Master!" Serena exclaimed with a glint of determination in her eyes.

Calem smirked, silently thinking to himself that Serena looked absolutely adorable like that. He loved her enthusiastic attitude, and he had no doubt that she would become the ultimate Pokemon Master one day.

"Well to be a good Pokemon Master, you must train your Pokemon to the best of their abilities! Do you want to join me? I was just about to train my Froakie in this forest before challenging the Gym Leader over in Santalune." Calem casually said.

Serena nodded and smiled, though Calem didn't notice as he was busy focusing on the path before him.

After a long period of awkward silence, Serena decided that she would at least try to have a normal conversation with Calem. "What was it like to live in Vaniville before I moved here?" she asked, awkwardly stroking her hair.

"Well it was actually a lot more boring then, because we didn't have any Pokemon to explore the world with and we weren't allowed to venture outside of those gates unless we were accompanied by our parents or their borrowed Pokemon. When you moved here, the Professor finally decided that we were old enough and mature enough to raise our first Pokemon after he discovered that you have a Charmander that you've raised very well. Before you came along, we just mostly secretly snuck out at night to venture outside of the gates, but now that we have Pokemon, we'll be able to explore even more places!" Calem exclaimed.

"Wow, that doesn't sound very fun at all! I hope we all have many fun adventures as we go our separate ways to fulfill our dreams, hopes, and destinies. I know for sure that all of us will become a great group of friends and I can't wait to see what the future holds! For now though, I want to begin my journey of being the best trainer in all of the land. What's your dream, Calem?" Serena asked, looking at him with pure happiness.

"My dream is the same as yours, actually." Calem said as a small smile spread across his face. "But I guess we both can't live our dreams unless somehow we do it together." His eyes widened as the truth hit him like a rude awakening. He never intended to crush or run anyone's dreams, but in order to fulfill his dream, he would have to ruin Serena's dream. And as badly as he wanted to live his dream, he wasn't going to allow himself to ruin hers for the sake of his own happiness. So instead, he came up with a brilliant plan.

"Why don't we train together, Serena? That way, we can each train 3 Pokemon and fight Diantha together as a team in a Double Battle! We'll both be crowned Champion and we'll both live out our dreams! That way, everyone wins and no one has to have their dreams crushed!"

Serena smiled at Calem's enthusiasm, the boy sure knew how to speak his mind. "Sure Calem, I'd love to share my dream with a friend, and this way we can become even closer! But the only question is, which Pokemon would we use? I already have two fire types and there's no way I'm going to give up both of them. You have a water type so we could easily take out Malva and Wikstorm, but what about the water-type Siebold and the dragon-type Drasna? What would we use for them?"

Calem chuckled deeply at Serena's worried expression. "Don't worry about it Serena, we're only getting started on our journey! Besides, how in the world do you know so much about the Elite Four already? We're only getting started on our journey, you don't have to worry about challenging them for a long time!"

Serena silently scoffed at his ignorance, how could Calem not realize how important it was to already begin planning the perfect team? "Calem, that's not the attitude you should have if you're expecting to become the Champion. Even though it's early on in our journey, it's important to already be thinking about the types of Pokemon we're going to use, as well as their advantages, disadvantages, and their unique individual personalities! If you don't, you could set yourself up for failure later when you try to challenge the Elite Four. To beat the Elite Four, you must have a very well balanced team, and the only way to do that is to plan ahead."

"Wow Serena, you never cease to amaze me." Calem grinned, shaking his head slightly. "You're absolutely right though, what kind of Pokemon should we use? For now, we should try to look for a fairy-type Pokemon for Drasna, and either an electric or grass type for Siebold."

"I like the way you're thinking Calem!" Serena giggled, giving Calem an affectionate hug. Calem gasped and blushed at the contact, this was the first time Serena had gotten close to him, and he surprisingly liked it.

He didn't know why, but for some reason Calem was completely tongue tied. He tried to say something, but he was too caught up in Serena's lovely scent of strawberries and honey.

When Serena pulled back, Calem secretly didn't want her to let go. He wanted to stay in her arms and protect her from the evil of the world, but for now at least they were alone.

"Well now that you know more about me, I want to know more about you. What was Kanto like?" Calem asked, curious to know about Serena's background.

Serena smiled, remembering all of the fun times she had in her old home. "Kanto was amazing, I made a whole lot of friends and I went on a lot of adventtures before I moved here. I was so sad when I had to leave my friends behind, but I've managed to keep in touch with most of them."

Calem raised his eyebrow suspiciously, how many friends did Serena have? "Did you ever have a boyfriend?" he asked, trying to control his curiosity.

Serena giggled loudly and shook her head, remembering all of the crazy dramatic times that she experienced back in Kanto. "Oh Calem, you have no idea," she sighed dreamily.

"Sooo I'm taking that as a yes?" Calem guessed. Serena looked down and blushed slightly, avoiding eye contact with him. "Ooh Calem, I just got a great idea! Why don't we challenge the trainers around here to some battles so that we can strengthen our Pokemon before taking on the Gym Leader?" Serena awkwardly smiled, trying to change the subject.

"Alright, I'll play your little game." Calem muttered to himself, smiling even bigger. "Actually, I think you're ready to take on the gym leader! But before you do, I'd like to show you something. Would you let me?"

Serena stared at Calem's sparkling eyes and immediately nodded her head. "Yes, of course you can show me!" she smiled. Calem smiled back and gently put a blindfold around her eyes so that she couldn't see where she was going. Before she could say anything, he held her waist from behind and whispered soothingly in her ear. "It's alright Serena, there's no reason to be afraid. I'll be right here beside you to help guide you, just let me take 's time for a piggy back ride!"

Before Serena could question Calem on his silliness, he picked her up on his back and hooked his two arms under her legs. Serena wrapped her arms gently around his neck and giggled, hanging on for a wild ride.

When they reached their destination, Calem gently let Serena off and took off her blindfold. Serena gasped as she saw the beautiful view before her, which was a gorgeous sunset that stretched across for miles slowly sinking into the trees. "Wow Calem, this is a beautiful view! Thanks for showing me this, I think I'm going to take a picture! Do you want to be in it?"

Calem shyly turned his head away, hiding the huge blush he had across his face. "Oh I don't know Serena, I mean I'm kind of camera shy." he softly said. "Nonsense, you're my friend and I insist that you take a picture with me! After all, it was you who brought me here." Noticing his hesitation, she decided to take a more gentle approach. "Please?" she softly asked, staring at Calem with an unreadable expression on her face.

Calem stared back at her beautiful face, which was slightly glowing in the sunlight. He loved the way her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm whenever she talked to him and how her hair seemed to gently blow in the breeze. How could he resist when she was looking at him like that?

"Alright, but only one picture! I don't want our friends thinking I'm girly or anything." Calem joked, affectionately pinching Serena's cheek.

Serena aimed her phone at her own face and pulled Calem over to take the picture with her. They both smiled genuinely before getting carried away and taking many silly and crazy pictures. Serena giggled when Calem tried to make a kissy face, it was a nice effort but his face was too tense, and so it looked more like he was in pain.

After a montage of goofy picture taking, Calem noticed that it was getting really late, and so he suggested that they head back. Serena smiled in response, she was proud of Calem for acting responsible. "Yeah, it is getting pretty late. I had a really fun time with you today Calem, we should do this more often!" Serena smiled.

"I totally agree, I had a lot of fun today too! Tomorrow when you challenge the gym leader, I'll be there rooting for you!" Calem replied, smiling back. "Yeah, I can't wait to challenge her! Well anyway, I guess this is my stop." Serena said as she noticed that they had arrived back in Vaniville to the front door of her home. "I had a lot of fun today Calem, I can't wait to spend the day with you tomorrow again! Goodbye!" Serena blushed as she kissed his cheek and closed the door behind her.

Calem put his hand up to his cheek and smiled even wider. "Wow.. that girl is just...wow." he sighed dreamily. Walking back to his own home, he could only imagine the sorts of amazing adventures he and Serena would have in the future. But for now, all he was focused on was enjoying his time with his new favorite best friend.

"She sure is something special, that girl is going to be a star. I just know it!" Calem said to himself as he closed his eyes and fell into a deep slumber.
