Thank you SO much for the feedback!
This chapter is in Arthur's point of view. And the last bit is in Merlin's.
I don't own Merlin!
The forest was silent, almost peaceful.
"Are we almost there?"
Gwaine.
"We are less than an hour's ride from Camelot, sir Gwaine"
"Hey princess you asked me to come"
'A decision I now regret' it was quiet for a while until the sound of twigs breaking could be heard from behind them. Everyone stopped dead in their tracks. I pulled out my sword, the knights followed soot. Nothing happened so I spoke.
"Who goes there?"
The bushes began to rustle and branches were moved until a woman was visible. She has long black hair pulled back with a colour washed bandana making her stormy blue eyes seem more intense. She is carrying a small figure in her arms.
"Please he needs help!"
The woman cried out in desperation. I inched closer to see the figure in her arms. It is a small boy that looks to be only 5 or 6 winters old, but it's hard to tell. The boy has raven black hair like the woman and pail skin. The boy looks to be asleep… or unconscious. His face and arms are littered with bruises cuts. Lancelot's quiet voice came from behind me.
"What happened to him?"
The woman looked straight at me.
"We need to speak to the king"
Leon stepped in front of me before I could answer.
"Are you sure the boy can make it to Camelot?"
She turned to Leon
"I have to speak with the king. Merlin will be fine as long as I can get him to Gaius."
'Merlin must be the child.' Before anyone else could say anything I stepped towards her
"We would be happy to give you a ride. And when we arrive in Camelot you shall have an audience with the king"
She looked surprised for a moment, then seemed to come to her senses and bowed
"Thank you, Sire"
When we arrived in Camelot we were quickly greeted with servants rushing over to take the horses. I pointed at a servant that was helping the woman down from Gwaine's horse.
"You, please escort…"
I turned to the woman. She seemed to understand my implied question because she answered
"Hunith, my lord"
"Thank you"
In turned back to the servant
"Please escort Hunith to Gaius' chambers"
With a nod the servant led Hunith towards the castle
Hunith is stands in front of the thrones, in the middle of the court room.
"Speak"
"Bandits have attacked my village, Ealdor. they want our crops, Sire. but we hardly have enough for our families and if they take it. we're afraid some of the children won't make it through the winter"
"Ealdor. That's in Essetir. Why have you come to me, you should be speaking to King Lot?"
"We have Sire." She looks between me and Gwen with despair "But he cares little for the outlying villages"
Hunith's eyes land on me. Desperately watching, silently begging me.
"To send an army past King Lots borders would be an act of war."
"Please! We have nowhere else to go. If you will not help us "
"I'm sorry but we cannot risk Camelot for that of a village. Please stay as long as you need and we will have a knight go to you and your son for safety but that's all I can do."
"I understand. Thank you, sire."
She turned and swiftly walked out of the room
It's weird to change points of view in the same chapter but I am doing it any way! Merlin point of view!
Everything is dark. Everything started getting lighter, but as I open my eyes I can feel pain coming from my arm. There are people talking but I don't recognise the voices. I look around and realise I don't recognise the room either. I am laying on a cot in the corner a room. The room has tables with different books and potions. I look up and see a balcony with a shelf full of books. It took me a few seconds to notice the voices had stopped. I looked over to see four knights. WAIT! Mother said we were going to Camelot! Did I do something wrong? Did I do magic in my sleep? It's happened before; no one is allowed in our house when I'm sick anymore. I was so focused on my own thoughts that when one of the knights spoke I jumped.
"Merlin?"
I looked over to see who was talking
I'll try to get the next chapter up by tomorrow. Please R&R!
