Knuckles was currently waiting at the luggage drop off to retrieve their bags while Sonic and Tails were sitting at the cafe tables drinking some hot chocolate. Tails looked over at knuckles then to his brother, the blue hedgehog noticing his stare.

"What's wrong?" Sonic asked as he set his cup down on the table

"Why aren't you and knuckles dating? You two make a good couple" Tails said making sonic smile a little

"Me and knuckles are just good friends. There's just never been a spark between us to even consider a relationship" Sonic explained while tails accepted his answer with a frown

When knuckles came back, he had three bags in hand while carrying one on his shoulder. He set them all down to the floor and sat in the middle of the two mobians.

"Tails what do you have in your bag?" Knuckles said as he turned to the kit

"Just a few minor necessities" Tails said as his older brother gave him a stern look "it's just my laptop, my phone, my other phone, my tablet, and the chargers that go with them" Tails informed as the two older mobians stared at him in surprise

"I thought I told you to bring one of your gadgets," Sonic said he crossed his arms

"It is going to be one gadget, I'm taking them apart so I can create some new electronic I've been working on," Tails said in excitement

"Tails those things were expensive to even get for you" Knuckles scolded making the kit lower his ears a bit with a frown on his muzzle

Sonic sighed and decided to make a compromise with his younger brother. "Tails use your old phone but not any of the new tech. we got you, deal?" Sonic said making the kit smile

"You've got a deal" Tails said

Knuckles smiled at the two before checking his watch and noticed the time. "The cab should be outside in three minutes, we should start heading outside," He said as he got off his seat

As they grabbed their bags, they ventured out the airport and found their cab waiting outside. "That's convenient" Tails muttered as he hauled his bag toward the car

"Well at least we didn't have to wait long," Sonic said as he followed Tails

Knuckles shrugged and followed the two mobians when they were all seated in the cab they said the location they wanted to be and off they went. Tails fell asleep through the car ride, Knuckles was on his phone, and sonic was looking out the window admiring the scenery as the car drove them to their cabin.

When arriving Knuckles paid the driver while sonic carried tails to one of the rooms upstairs to let him sleep more. When Sonic came back downstairs, he knuckles already setting down their luggage in the living room.

"Tails has the right idea. Let's get some sleep" Knuckles said as he yawned

"Well we are going to get up early tomorrow if we're going sightseeing before practice," Sonic said as he leaned against the wall

"That's true. Well I'll see you in the morning Sonic" Knuckles said before heading off to his room

Sonic merely waved his hand as his friend left to his room. The young hedgehog stayed up a while longer before deciding to take a short walk around the town before heading off to sleep. While out on his walk he bumped into an elderly light blue hedgehog.

"I'm sorry! I should've watched where I was going" Sonic said as he helped the old hedgehog off the snow-covered ground

"Quite alright. Now what has you so high up in the clouds" he asked before introducing himself "by the way I'm Chuck, the hedgehog" He said as he looked at Sonic

"I guess nerves came at me because of the ice skating competition," Sonic said sheepishly

"I heard the royal family was going to hand out medals once the competition was over. Along with the prince's fiancé" Chuck said as he looked at Sonic

Sonic didn't understand why the old mobian was telling him this, but he didn't want to be rude, so he didn't ask.

"And I also hear that he's coming for a tour of the rink tomorrow morning," Chuck said snapping sonic out of his thoughts "it's to bad he's camera shy. No one has seen exactly what he looks like for he somehow evades publicity" He said

Sonic smiled and conversed with Chuck for a while longer before they parted ways. When Sonic got back to the cabin, he walked to his room, kicked off his shoes and fell on his bed and like that he was fast asleep.

Morning arrived, and currently, Tails was dragging sonic and knuckles around the small town they were in. They wandered in and out of mechanic shops for three hours before stopping to get some hot chocolate.

"Tails we don't have to go in every mechanic shop here you know," Sonic said as he took a sip of his hot beverage

"I know, but everything here has all the parts I need for my new invention!" Tails said in excitement

Sonic smiled while knuckles chuckled as he drank his hot chocolate. Tails rambled on how the town was more sophisticated in technology while sonic listened. Tails stopped his rambling when he saw a poster on a mechanics summer program.

"Knuckles lets go see what that program is about!" Tails said as he dragged the older mobian out of his seat

"Wah! Tails!" Knuckles yelled as he almost spilled his drink

Sonic laughed while he saw his friend be pulled away. He followed after and when barely crossing the road he had to quickly run across when a car nearly ran him over.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!" Sonic yelled out angrily

Inside the sleek black car did a black and red striped hedgehog look up from the papers he was reading.

"Did you hear something?" He asked as he looked at his driver

"It's probably nothing sire," said an old grey squirrel

The young hedgehog shrugged and continued with his paperwork. Meanwhile Sonic scoffed as he saw the car drive off, he calmed himself down before walking towards tails and knuckles. Sonic's mood brightened when he heard tails go on about the summer program.

"Sonic you think I can go?" Tails asked as he handed sonic the brochure

"I don't know Tails, I'm not sure if I can even afford to even pay for this" Sonic said making tails frown before he smiled again

"Can we at least see the mechanics convention?" Tails asked with a smile on his face making sonic smile to

"We can see that later, but for now we need to head towards the ice rink" Sonic reminded

"Well the ice rink is not that far we can walk from here," Knuckles said as he looked over a map on his phone

The two other mobians nodded and they made their way to the Ice rink. Upon arriving Sonic and Knuckles quickly began to explore the rink while tails stayed in the daycare center. As the two continued to explore Sonic heard a voice he never wanted to hear.

"Well, well, well...If it isn't Sonic the Hedgehog," Said a feminine voice "I haven't seen you in ages," said a red fox

Sonic groaned while Knuckles looked confused to the newcomer. "Hello, Fiona. I'm sure your here for the skating competition" Sonic said with a forced smile

"Well I did win last year's competition," Fiona boasted

Sensing a fight waiting to happen, Knuckles decided to introduce himself before sonic loses control of his anger.

"Knuckles the echidna. Nice to meet you," He said while Fiona looked him over with a smile

"Nice to meet you to handsome," Fiona said seductively

"As nice as it was seeing you again. Me and knuckles have to get ready for practice" Sonic said while Fiona glared at him

"You get on with that. You'll need the practice," Fiona said before walking away

Sonic muttered curses under his breath before he left to find some place to calm his temper. Knuckles watched him leave before he went to go put on his skates. As sonic went into any room and threw his bag next to a table. The sudden movement causes a vase to spill water all over his bag making the cerulean hedgehog groan.

"Today of all days why!" Sonic said angrily as he went to look for some towels

Hearing the door open, Sonic didn't pay any mind as he knew he was in the common room. As he grabbed a few towels from the bottom level of the closet. He turned to bump into someone, dropping the towels in hand.

"I'm so sorry," Sonic and the other mobian began before their eyes widened

Gasping the two turned to the mirror and looked at each other again. "Who are you?" Sonic asked the other cerulean hedgehog

"I'm Duke Maurice Chevalier the Hedgehog," said the other blue hedgehog "and you are?" he asked in an English accent

Snapping out of his shock the young blue mobian chuckled sheepishly. "I'm Sonic the Hedgehog," He said as he bowed awkwardly making the other mobian move back slightly with a small surprised yelp

As sonic regained his composure he wondered why the young royal was here before remembering.

"You must be here for the tour," Sonic said as Maurice nodded "Well you already found the common room. I'll go tell someone you're here," Sonic said with a smile

Before he could Maurice stopped him making sonic look at him in confusion. Coughing slightly to relieve the awkward atmosphere he looks at Sonic with a smile.

"Before you do that I have to ask. Are you a competitor in the upcoming competition?" Maurice asked

"Yes?" Sonic said as he was unsure what the Royal was implying

"I know this is going to take out of your schedule but I have to ask if you could come to the palace and teach me how to ice skate," Maurice asked

"Oh sure just let me tell Knuckles-" Sonic began before Maurice interrupted him

"No! No one must know about this. I don't want others to know what I'm doing. It's embarrassing for me for the entire royal family knows how to skate except for me," Maurice said making sonic feel bad for him

"Alright, my lips are sealed," Sonic said as he turned to leave again before asking "do I have to bow or anything?" He asked

"No it's not necessary," Maurice said making sonic smile

Before leaving Sonic remembered his bag and said his goodbyes again before heading back to his friends. As he left Maurice smiled and waited for his tour guide to come and show him around the rink.
