"No." Ultra Magnus spoke flatly.
"C'mon!" Wheeljack pleaded. "Come on, Chief, it'll work. Please?"
Magnus frowned. "What part of 'no' do you not understand?" He continued walked toward the main hangar, keeping an eye out for stray humans.
Wheeljack continued tagging along. He had persistence, Magnus had to give him that. But he did not have to give in.
The two Wreckers entered the main hangar. Prowl glanced up at them. "You have the reports for the last few patrols your unit has carried out?"
Magnus nodded. "Yes, sir. They are right here." He handed the reports to the busy Second in Command, who merely nodded in acknowledgement.
Magnus headed over to his own workstation, desperately trying to tune out the arguably most annoying mech that ever cursed the surface of any planet.
Wheeljack kept up a constant barrage of pleas, doing his best to destroy Magnus's fragile grip on his patience.
Magnus finally gritted out, "FINE. But I want to see the prototype tested. I want to BE there, to insure against accidents."
He instantly regretted it.
Every mech, femme and human turned to stare in his and Wheeljack's direction.
Per the usual, Wheeljack was oblivious.
"Understood! thanks, Chief."
Wheeljack was gone.
Ultra Magnus picked up a datapad and began to skim it, keenly aware of the others' gazes. After a time, their attention went back to their tasks, and the tall Commander felt his plating loosen slightly in relief.
Apprehension sat in. The weapon Wheeljack had proposed would be effectively disable their enemies... Or them.
