Erik kept his eyes peeled as he waited for a car to pull up outside the restaurant. He and Christine had spoken on the phone and agreed to meet in a public place for the first time. How he hated places like this. He rubbed a hand over the uncovered side of his face and sighed over his coffee.

The door bell rang, letting the owner know someone had arrived. Erik's head shot up. If not for Diane, the solicitor, he would not have known that that was Christine.

She was a small girl, around 5'6, her hair long, blonde and slightly curly. She had large blue eyes and a high cheekbones. She was extremely slender and Erik was at least greatful that they had chosen a restaurant so she could eat.

"Erik!" Diane greeted, shaking his hand as he rose. "This is Christine." She gestured to the girl behind her. "Christine, this is Erik."

Christine ignored his offered hand and instead slipped into the booth, her legs slipping under the table with ease. She pulled out a pink phone, the latest design from what Erik could tell, and began to text.

Diane pulled a face and then smiled nervously. "Well, I'll be over there..enjoying my drink...let me know if you need anything." And was gone.

Christine quickly glanced up from under her lashes and studied the man before her. He was...big to say the least. She decided he was in his early 20s, and quite pale. He had a chiseled jaw, dark hair and a straight nose. What startled her was not the rubber flesh colour that covered the left side of his face, but the gold colour of his eyes. Tearing her eyes away from his face, she looked back down to her phone before sending Meg a message:

"He's HOT. Xx"

Enjoying her silence, Erik took a long sip of his coffee.

"So," Christine didn't glance up. "Why do you wear a mask?"

Erik choked. He coughed twice and Christine raised her eyes, wondering.

"It is a topic I do not wish to discuss with a stranger." He recovered, raising an eyebrow, inviting her to begin.

He was...adorably charming, she decided.

When Diane had told her about the mask and to respect his wishes and not mention it, Christine imagined him to be a small, scrawny old man and as she knew he was an architect and extremely rich, she had just assumed. He wanted information and she knew how to act polite.

"Hi, I'm Christine. Thank you so much for allowing me to come live with you," she batted her eyelashes, "it is an honour to even be in your presence." She crossed her legs under the table and brushed them against him. He jumped. She smirked.

Was she...flirting with him? Oh god. He sighed, she was certainly attractive, but it felt wrong. "Well, Christine." He placed his hand to his temples, "I certainly hope you won't be giving me grey hair prematurely."

"How old are you?" He noticed she had put the phone away completely and was staring at him with those beautiful blue eyes.

"23."

"Young," she commented, sipping on the lemonade he had ordered for her.

"What do you mean?" Now she had his undivided attention.

"You're a billionaire, right? Twenty-three is extremely young, wouldn't you say?"

He shrugged and actually smirked. She almost melted. "I must be good at my job."

She laughed. "Well, seeing as I'll be moving into your pad, you set the rules, Erik." The way she said his name was like a caress and he found it strangely intimate.

"I don't have rules, just that you respect my wishes."

"Fair enough," she conceded, taking another sip of her drink and pulling her hair from her eyes.

After her eating a burger and picking at a few chips, they said goodbye as Christine had a lot of packing to do. She promised she would text him and let him know if she needed a hand in moving her items to his home.

Waving goodbye, Erik's phone began to ring. Looking at the caller ID, he growled.

"Daroga." It was short. "What do you want now?"
