A few days later, I woke up early and headed to the airport to start a new chapter of my life.

I couldn't believe it as I walked off the plane in Washington, D.C. I was traveling the world with WWE, not as a Diva of course, but still. I got my dream job and now I get to go do it. I ran into John Cena at the rental car desk.

"Hey Maria, how was your flight?" he asked me as he waited for the clerk.

"It was alright, I'm not a huge fan of planes."

"Yeah, I know how you feel. How's Sarah?" The twinkle in his eye grew and I could tell they must have hit it off on their date.

"She's great. She was really excited about yours guy's date, how did it go?"

"Amazing. She's so sweet and funny, but she seems really independent, almost too independent."

"That's why she's my best friend."

"Hey, do you wanna share a car? I'll drive," John offered.

"Alright, let's do it."

"Oh by the way, Randy is coming with us," John said as the clerk walked up to the desk. I sighed, of course he was and now it was too late to back out.

It was a quiet and extremely awkward car ride. John drove as Randy fiddled with the radio in the passenger's seat and I was stuck in the back with some of our luggage.

"So, what are you gonna do when we first get to the hotel, Maria?" John asked. I sighed and thought about my reply.

"I'm gonna shower because now I smell like rental car and your stinky socks. Come on man, I can smell them through your suitcase" John and I laughed as Randy sat quietly.

"They can't be that bad. Not as bad as your underwear!" John joked. We laughed again, and still Randy sat quietly. "Cat got your tongue Randy?" John asked him.

"Just thinking," was Randy's curt reply. I wanted to hear more of his deep, silky voice but he refused to say another word.

"Alright, grumpy pants," John said. We rode in silence the rest of the thirty minute trip to the hotel.

We arrived and got checked in. I took my bags to my room and plopped on the bed. My phone startled me when it began to ring. "Sarah" is what the caller ID said. I picked up and she began talking.

"Please tell me it's not true! You are never allowed to drink again if it is. I swear I'll kick your ass if it's true!"

"If what's true? What are you talking about?" I asked.

"That you kissed Randy the night of your welcome home party! Tell me the truth young lady!"

"Ow, stop yelling at me. Yes, it's true. But he kissed me back and it was amazing, and then he said, 'I shouldn't have done that. I'm sorry.' Then he went outside. What the hell am I supposed to do? I've been in love with him for almost my entire life, and now I can't avoid him."

"You're screwed."

"Gee thanks, I see now why you're my best friend!" I joked.

"But seriously, I don't know what you're gonna do."

"Me either. I'm the lead physician. If he gets hurt he comes to me."

"Maybe you should just go talk to him about it."

"You're right," I said. I sighed and we both hung up after I told her I had to get ready for work. I took a shower and dried my hair. I put on some mascara and eyeliner and a little tinted chapstick. I pulled on a pair of nice jeans and a white button up shirt. "That's as good as I'm gonna get," I said to myself in the mirror. My phone rang, 'John' it said on the screen.

"Hello?" he asked. His voice was soft.

"Hey, John what's up?"

"You want a ride to the arena? I'm leaving early to get some practice in before we start."

"Yeah sure. Wait, is Randy gonna be with you?"

"Yeah, I figured you two could talk after I get out of the car."

"So you told Sarah. Oh God that means Randy told you! What did he say?!"

"You should ask him. It's not my place to tell you."

"Why do you have to be so wise?" I asked jokingly.

"That's just me, I'll text you when I'm ready to go," he said.

"You mean you're not ready yet?"

"Hey, it takes time to make this happen."

"Alright, I'll see you when you're done being a girl," I joked. We hung up and I went to wait in the lobby. The elevator dinged and none other than Randy walked out. Awesome. I sighed and tried to avoid his gaze. Which did not work, he walked straight over to me.

"Hey, can I talk to you?" he asked me.

"Sure," I replied quietly. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to hear what he had to say or not. I could already feel myself beginning to blush.

"So, about the other night-"

"You can forget about that."

"But-"

"No, it's okay Randy. I know I was out of line and I'm like a little sister to you. I mean, hell, you changed my diapers. Don't worry about it. It's forgotten," I told him. Randy gave me a sad look. I couldn't stand it. I stood up and left the lobby. I pulled out my phone and called a taxi. As I was waiting John came and sat next to me on the bench I'd been occupying.

"So you talked to Randy?"

"Yeah."

"And?"

"I told him what we both already know."

"Well, he looked pretty bummed to me."

"I don't see why. It was my fault."

"He told me it was the best kiss he'd ever had." With that, John stood and went back inside and my taxi arrived.

A few minutes later I arrived at the arena. A security guard helped me find where I was supposed to be and Stephanie helped me get settled in.

"And that's all! Are you going to be alright on your own?" she asked with a bright smile on her face.

"Yep, I think I'll make it." I smiled at her and she left me in the large room. I set up my temporary desk, my laptop and anatomy books on the small surface. I sat in my chair and waited for my day to start.

I was startled awake by loud knocking outside my door. I stood up and straightened my shirt and opened the door to see none other than Randy.

"I need help, doc." He showed me a little smirk and came into the room.

"What can I help you with Mr. Orton." As much as it pained me to call him so, I had to keep it professional or I'd go mad with this gorgeous man in my office. He sat in a chair in front of my desk and folded his inked arms over his chest.

"Well, you see, I have hyper-mobile shoulders and I don't trust any of the other medics to stretch me out. Think you're up for the job?" he asked as a sly smile crossed his lips.

"I uh I think so?" I said, although it sounded more like a question than a statement, as it should have been. He stood up out of the chair and stepped right into my personal space. This forced me to look up to be able to see his face and him to look down to see mine. For a split second I was tempted to kiss him again.

"You… think so?" he said slowly as he brushed a strand of hair off my cheek.

"R-Randy what're you doin'?" I asked quietly. There was something off about this. After what we'd just gone through he wouldn't be doing this. As soon as I realized this I snapped awake. "Oh, just a dream…" I said to myself. I looked around the room, empty as it had been when I apparently fell asleep. It was going to be a long day.

By the end of the night I had met most of the superstars and a few of the Divas, who invited me out to pizza after the day was done. I, being the sweet and courteous person that I am, accepted the invitation and rode with Natalya to a nearby pizza parlor.

When we sat down with the rest of the girls the chatter started, most of it was questions aimed at me about how I knew Randy and John.

"How do you know Randy?" Natalya asked.

"His family has been really close to mine as long as I can remember. My older brother is his best friend."

"What about John?" Nikki asked.

"Well he's come around with Randy quite a few times. He's hard not to be friends with, such a sweet genuine guy."

"Yeah he is. So, personal question, boo. You blushed at the mention of Randy. You like him?" Arianne asked.

"Yeah do you?" Trinity chimed in.

"That's funny that you noticed that… Uh well, like I said, our families are close. He used to babysit me."

"Awe that's so cute! But seriously, you like him? Wait! Oh my God! You're in love with him!" Arianne giggled and squealed as I blushed beet red. There was no avoiding it now. She'd figured it out.

"Yeah, but he doesn't feel like that about me. I'm like a little sister to him." I looked down at my plate of pizza and tried to hold back the tears, but one single tear escaped and slid down my cheek. "Oh my God. Why am I crying?" I said quietly. I thanked the Divas for inviting me to dinner and paid for my meal before I left. I began walking back to the hotel, which was only a few blocks up. It started raining about five minutes into my 20 minute walk. "Awesome, just awesome!" I shouted to myself. Secretly I was glad for the rain. It meant I could cry and no one would notice.
