The coffee shop was pretty much empty, but that was probably due to the fact that it somewhere around three in the morning. Bigby and Snow occupied a small booth in the back after they ordered their coffee. Bigby liked his black, and Snow drank hers with lots of cream. He watched her in silence, as she picked up the hot mug and gingerly took a sip. "You've been coming here a lot?" Bigby asked as she sat the cup back down on the small table. The only reason he had asked is because Snow never really enjoyed coffee all that much, it was clear that she was using it only as an energy boost.

Snow merely nodded, "Unfortunately yes." She answered, "With me being the only one actually working at the business office, the work has just been piling up, I don't really have time for other things. I guess sleep deprivation is something that comes with being the deputy mayor. At least it's keeping me busy." Again, she attempted to smile after she got done explaining her situation, but Bigby could tell it was fake.

"You could have asked me for help a long time ago." Bigby replied simply, still wondering why Snow had avoided him throughout those months. "I know your stubborn, but come on Snow, you should know your limits." He added, taking a drink of his coffee as well. The strong taste delighted his taste buds; coffee had always been one of his preferences. He knew he wasn't supposed to smoke in the coffee shop, but he took out a huff and puff and lit it anyway. Smoking seemed to ease his nerves, and he was especially anxious in this certain situation.

Snow knitted her raven eyebrows together, almost in anger. "It's not your obligation to help me."

Bigby chuckled, "Actually yeah, it kind of is." He exhaled cigarette smoke. "That's why I'm the sheriff."

"You know what I mean, Bigby." Snow crossed her arms, giving him a glare.

He couldn't help but to scowl as he stared back at her with his golden orbs, "No Snow, I don't know what you mean." Bigby said simply. He was tired of playing games with this woman, it was like he was walking on eggshells. What the hell was her problem, and why had she been avoiding the big bad wolf? There had to be a reason to all of this madness. How can you go from being really close to someone to just not talking at all?

She sighed, "All I'm saying is you shouldn't be worried about me as much as you are, I can handle myself perfectly fine." She said, uncrossing her arms and taking another drink of her coffee. "I don't need you telling me how I should live my life." She trailed off, and suddenly, Bigby felt genuinely hurt by her words. Did she not want someone to care about her wellbeing? Did she not want to be the object of Bigby's affection? She was so hard to read at times, and Bigby didn't have a response, so he just took drags on his cigarette, and waited until Snow was ready to go. When they had both finished their coffee, Snow stood up to leave, and Bigby followed her outside. "Are you angry with me?" Snow asked, her voice sounding too innocent to be true.

"No." Bigby answered simply as they stood out in the cold, waiting for a cab to drive by so that they could return back home to the apartment complex. A light snow had begun to fall, and the wind whipped back and forth. Yes, he was angry with her, but he wasn't going to admit it right to her face. That was something Bigby didn't do, and he didn't want to upset Snow more than she already was.

She turned to him, and grabbed his chin, forcing him to look down at her. Blue met gold for the first time in months. "Then why won't you look at me?" She inquired, voice sounding hurt. She knew she had done bad on his part, and she regretted it. Why did she have to get an attitude in the coffee shop? Why did she avoid Bigby for all those months. Deep down, she knew why, she just didn't want to admit it to herself.

"It doesn't feel too good to be ignored, does it?" Bigby asked, a rhetorical question obviously, but still, that's how he had been feeling this whole time. Invisible, like nobody wanted to look at him or be around him, or even talk to him for that matter.

Snow let go of his chin and turned away, "I'm sorry Bigby."

"So you admit that you were ignoring me?" He asked, confused.

A sigh escaped her red lips, "I had a good reason for it though." And she did have a very good reason for ignoring him. It was because Bigby Wolf made her feel something, made her feel special, made her feel like the only person in the world, and she was so scared of embracing it. Snow White was afraid to fall in love with Bigby Wolf, because she didn't want to face rejection, and she didn't want to get hurt again.

"And what reason is that?" Bigby questioned.

Snow shook her head, "You wouldn't understand."

"Fuck, Snow..." Bigby muttered. "I care about you too damn much to let this go."

"Bigby..."

"Just tell me already."

She was hesitant when she turned back around to look at him, because he was angry, and she could tell he was angry because he had his fists balled up, and his nostrils flared. But maybe she should just tell him, just get it out of the way... But another part was so afraid that he wouldn't feel the same. She didn't think that the big bad wolf was capable of love. "I avoided you, because I like you too much." She managed to get out.

That mere sentence was enough to throw Bigby into shock. All this time, he thought it was his fault, he thought he was the one that fucked up, when in all actuality it was Snow's feelings that pulled them away from each other. She had managed to wedge something in between them, and that's why Bigby was so damn confused about all of this. Snow liked him? That was another surprise as well. "Are you crazy?" Bigby asked simply. Who the hell could love the big bad wolf? Now Bigby was more confused than ever.

"I guess I am." Snow trailed off.
