A/N: Hey guys. I know I haven't updated in a while. I promise, I'm trying my best. School has just been very hectic lately. So yeah. Here's chapter 2.
Also, I have this up on another website, so if you see this there too, let me know the name of the author before you report it because you might end up reporting me. Okay?
*Disclaimer: Once again, how can I own people?*
Chapter 2: Secrets, Songs, and Sneaking Off
*Christina's POV*
This scenario was starting to get all too familiar. My youngest sister Bella is sitting on my bed. I'm trying to get her to talk. This time, though, something felt different. Like Bella wasn't going to talk this time. 'I doubt it,' I thought to myself, 'You've gotten through to her before. You can do it again.' I kept thinking positive. 'I can do this'.
Bella looked really pitiful. She shrank back a little bit. I guess I was scaring her, which I wasn't trying to do. That wasn't going to help. I walked over and kneeled in front of her.
"Bella," I said in a calm voice again, "We need to know what's going on. You know better than anyone that we just want to help you."
Bella shifted her eyes away from me. She didn't want to tell me, which I wasn't going to allow.
"Is somebody at school bullying you?"
She shook her head.
"Is it Jack?"
"NO!" She practically screamed. I flinched at her sudden outburst. 'Well, at least she said something.'
"I mean...no. There's nothing wrong between me and Jack," Bella quietly whispered and went back to silence.
Jack was the only other option I could think of. 'What could it be?' I tried to rack my brain for another explination to my youngest sister's unusualy unexcited mood when it struck me.
"Does this have to do with Jessie?"
I knew I'd gotten it right. It had to be it. There was no other-
Bella shook her head. I was shocked. 'WHAT OTHER EXPLINATION IS THERE?!' I didn't know what else it could be. I stood up and started pacing around the room, muttering to myself. 'C'mon Christina, think!' I thought to myself, 'There has to be a reason. There must be.'
Whatever it was, it wasn't coming to me. I kept trying to create options, only to have them ruled out. There wasn't an explination. Or at least, I couldn't think of one. I didn't know what else to do but ask Bella herself. 'This just got a lot more complicated.'
I walked back over to Bella, who still had the feared expression on her face, although, it did lighten up a bit.
I sighed, "Then what is bothering you Bella?"
She only stared at her shuffling feet on the ground.
"Bella."
Silence.
"Bella!"
Nothing. This was really starting to irritate me. I was getting stressed.
"BELLA LOOK AT ME!" I yelled. Bella flinched and looked up, but not at me. Something else. Across the room. I followed her line of vision. On the wall across from my bed was the CimFam art wall.
I sighed. I should've known. "Bella is this about your singing?" I asked in a much softer tone than earlier. This time, Bella looked at me and nodded. Then, all of a sudden, she burst into tears. Once again, shock overcame me, but it was quickly replaced with sympathy. I quickly got up and sat next to her. I pulled Bella into a hug and just let her sob into my shoulder.
"I-I j-just feel like s-such a-a di-disappointment an-and f-f-failure t-to the f-family," she sobbed.
"Sh," I cooed while caressing her hair,"You aren't a failure or disappointment Bellie. And if anybody tells you different, Kath, Lise, Ames, Laur, Dan, and I will sear their hair off with our laser vision."
She pulled away and gave me a small smile and chuckle. I kissed her forehead and one more hug.
"I love you Belles. We all do. Never forget that," I whispered in her ear.
"I know Chrissy. I love you all too," she whispered back.
We pulled away. "I should probably go wash up," she said before getting up to leave. I nodded and followed her. I stood in the doorway and watched her walk down the hallway and into the bathroom. I couldn't shake the feeling that Bella hadn't told me the real reason and that she was hiding something, but shrugged it off. I walked downstairs to the kitchen and joined my other 5 little sisters, who were currenlty arguing over whether Nutella was better than penut butter. Although, it was more of a debate between just Lisa and Dani (A/N: I actually don't know if Dani is obsessed with Nutella or not, I'm just going by example from other stories I've read on here. If it's a twitter thing, I don't have an account, so that would explain it.). I laughed at their childish debates, but still couldn't keep my mind off Bella. What could she be hiding?
*Bella's POV*
Once I got to the bathroom, I made sure the door was locked. I turned to face the mirror and grinned. It was always easy to trick Chrissy with crocodile tears. Now don't get me wrong. I don't always lie to my sisters, only when it comes to my singing. I conveniently had my phone pocket, so I pulled it out and texted Jack.
(A=Bella, =Jackson)
Meet me our treehouse in 5. Bring ur guitar.~Jingle Bell
Kay. C ya soon! 3 u!-Micheal Jackson
I made sure I no longer had any signs of crying before making sure the coast was clear and rushing to my room. I grabbed my laptop and Lisa's boomphones and put them in a sack. I checked to make sure none of my sisters were coming upstairs, then opened the window and climbed outside amd hopped onto the ledge. Once I placed the sack on the tree branch next to our window, I closed the window from the outside and climbed down the tree with the sack. I dropped the sack to the ground before jumping off a branch and doing a backflip before landing. Did I forget to mention that I do gymnastics like Chrissy? Well now you know. Except, I actually continued and I do competitive gymnastics. I ran across the backyard, ducking under the windows off course so none of my sisters see me. I climbed up the wooden planks that we hammered into the tree to use as makeshift steps. I pulled out the laptop and boomphones and listened to music while I waited on Jackson.
*Nobody's POV*
What Bella didn't know is that one of her sisters had seen her run across the backyard and started to become suspicious.
What is Bella up to? she wondered, as she walked outside to spy on her little sister.
