Rin was smiling, but it was impossible to see underneath her bangs (It just looked like some sort of creepy smirk). She was standing in front of a huge building, one that she had never seen before and one that was inhabited by humans! A school. The main building looked plain from the outside, and you could just make out a field in the distance - probably used for sport. There was a path leading to the main entrance of the school and on both sides of the path trees grew and humans of around Rin's age rested underneath them. Nobody took notice of Rin, but she didn't mind, it was nice just being in such a lively atmosphere.

Rin walked forward, trying to avoid bumping into humans, because she didn't want to upset the things she was so curious about. She had been told to go to the main office, where she could get a school timetable. Rin got lost for a few minutes, but finally found the room labelled with 'School Office' without any help. She walked over to the large desk at the left of the room.

"Good morning," The woman at the desk said, observing Rin, "I can tell that you must be the new girl, because I haven't seen you around before."

Rin was observing the woman carefully, she could see into the woman's soul, she was sincere.

"Yes, I am the new girl." Rin replied, trying to sound bored although she wasn't, "My name is Rin Sakine."

Sakine wasn't Rin's real surname, it was Meiko's. But Rin had been told it was for cover or something like that.

"Welcome Miss Sakine!" The woman said happily, giving Rin a small book, "This is your timetable and also your homework planner. Good luck, your classroom is the nearest door to the left of this office!"

"Thank you." Rin said, but she swore the woman had muttered something afterwards. Rin ignored the thought and left the room, making sure her eyes were still unseen.

Rin found the classroom she was looking for, and opened the door. Many eyes stared at her when she walked in.

"Ah! Hello," A man said, he was standing near Rin at the front of the classroom, "You must be the new student, Rin Sakine! I am your new teacher, Mr Shion. Why don't you introduce yourself?"

Rin turned to face the people of her age in the room and the girls were sniggering at her.

"My name is Rin." Rin said coldly, "I like blood, gore, road rollers and oranges."

Mr Shion sighed, for an unknown reason. Rin thought that his appearance suited happy. He had blue hair and matching blue eyes which made him look pretty young.

"Where would you like to sit, Rin?" He asked, curious.

"I will sit at the back." Rin stated, already moving to the empty seat on the back row.

She wasn't deaf, she could hear the whispers boys and girls around the room were saying.

'How flat can you get?'

'She looks about 9.'

'Len-sama would never like her.'

'What a reject.'

The voices also laughed under their breath, taunting her. It made Rin want to rip the peoples throats out and insult them like hell, but she held her tongue.

After 2 lessons, there was a 30 minute break for people to eat, socialise and let their energy out. Rin wasn't bothered and she wanted to spend 30 minutes away from her classmates, so she rested her head on her desk and day dreamed. She didn't day dream for long though.

"Hello?" A voice said, it was sharp yet kind and it sounded like an angel, "Is anybody in there?"

"Huh?" Rin lifted her head up, looking for the source of the voice, it defiantly hadn't been one of the rude, insulting ones from earlier.

Rin looked up and saw the person she had been looking for standing above her. Len. He looked even better in person! His bangs were shining and his eyes were totally mesmerizing. Rin tried not to gawk at him.

"Sorry if I woke you up!" Len said, he sounded guilty and he looked it in his eyes too, "I just wondered if you were okay!"

Rin was confused, "Why wouldn't I be okay?"

"My class aren't very nice sometimes, they insult people easily," Len began, "I'm sorry if they hurt you!"

"I don't care what they think about me, anyway." Rin stated, absent-mindedly brushing her bangs out of her eyes, "I only care about what I think about myself."

Len could tell that Rin was lying, easily, but he played along with what Rin was doing, "That's great! But if they ever insult you about your appearance don't believe them, because you have really nice eyes."

Rin smiled for a moment, blushing lightly, before realising that Len could see her eyes, and that she was blushing at what he said. She attempted to hide her blush and place her bangs back to covering her eyes.

"Thanks..." She muttered, but she was stopped. Len himself was moving Rin's bangs back to the side so that both of her eyes were visible.

"I don't understand why you don't like people seeing your eyes, but you should let them!" He laughed, "I have to go to a guitar lesson for the next hour anyway, so I'll see you later!"

"Wait!" Rin said, grabbing Len's arm, "What's your name?"

"Len Kagamine, it's nice to meet you!" Len replied, smiling, as Rin released the grip on his arm and watched him walk out of the classroom, the blush still lingering on her cheeks.

Rin was thinking about Len. She thought that he was quite short for his age, maybe just hitting 5ft 1 and that was when she remembered.

'Today is his birthday!' Rin thought, 'And I forgot!'

At lunch, Rin wasn't sure where to sit. The cafeteria was packed full of people, but Rin was hungry because of the plate of food in her hands and she felt a little embarrassed at standing alone.

"Hey, Rin!" A voice shouted across the huge hall to her, Rin identified it immediately, Len.

She felt someone's presence next to her and looked to find that it was Len.

"Let's eat outside, there isn't anywhere to sit today." Len suggested and Rin nodded. As soon as Len said that, all of the girls in the area gasped, trying to make a space on their tables for Len.

Len just laughed and walked outside, with Rin following him. He sat down underneath a tree.

"I'm surprised it's so sunny on a winter day." Len pointed out, "But I guess it's good, because it is my birthday."

"Really?" Rin was quite shocked, because she had once again forgotten that it was Len's birthday, "Happy birthday!"

"Thanks." Len replied with a heart melting smile.

"But shouldn't you be sitting with your friends?" Rin asked, "Instead of me?"

"It's fine." Len said, "My two best friends aren't in today, and your nice."

Rin blushed again, and mentally face palmed herself for it.

"I'm - uh - sorry I didn't get you a present." Rin muttered, twirling her hair around her fingers.

Len laughed, "We've only known each other for a few hours! Of course I wouldn't expect you to get me a present!"

His laughter died down, "I get too many anyway, from the crazy girls in this school."

"Your popular?" Rin asked, she had started eating her tray of food.

"I guess so, and I hate it." Len began, "It feels weird that girls are all over me."

"Hm..." Rin said while chewing on the piece of orange she was eating.

"I'm interrupting your eating, sorry!" Len laughed, peeling the banana he had been holding.

After school, Rin met Len again.

"See you tomorrow Rin!" Len said, "I have to celebrate my birthday with my parents, they like to go over the top."

Rin laughed, "Okay, I'll see you later!"

Rin felt so happy whenever she was around Len, she guessed it was part of his gift or something. She was a little unhappy that he was the person she had to lie to though, because he was a nice person. She wouldn't have minded if it was just another person in her class.

Everybody in her house sensed Rin's uplifted mood.

"So, how was it?" Lily asked her sister.

"Len is an angel!" Rin said happily.

"You've known him for less then a day, and you already have a crush on him!" Lily accused Rin, with a smirk.

"N-No!" Rin blushed, "Of course not! What kind of idiot would think that?"

"A smart one." Lily muttered, but Rin was running to the kitchen and didn't hear.

That was a boring chapter, but oh well. The next chapter is where I add some more fantasy elements into the plot and stuff~
