In the woods where the game had just recently took place, the mood was severely depressing.
Percy Jackson, the Savior of Olympus, the boy who had defeated Kronos and Gaea with help had been sent to Tartarus, one of the most dangerous places for a demigod to be, everyone was sad but now one spoke up, except a certain daughter of Zeus.
"FATHER WHY?" Thalia screeched angrily.
"It had to be done, he was trying to kill Steve." Zeus argued.
"Annabeth cheated on Percy with him! That's why he was angry!" Thalia retorted.
That surprised everyone, they didn't know the full story though.
"Oh no..." A girl muttered in the crowd.
This was Piper McLean, the daughter of Aphrodite, she had really liked Percy and Annabeth being together, but this just shook her to her core that Annabeth would do something like that.
Poseidon instantly had a regretful face on him, he knew he wasn't a good father anymore, Percy said that he wouldn't forgive anyone who voted for his sentence, he just hoped there was a small flicker of hope for redemption, but he felt a glare from Hestia and he knew it was already too late.
"The Romans won't like this at all, you have all sealed the fate of the relationship between the two camps." Jason suddenly spoke up as he walked through the crowd.
Everyone turned to the sibling of Thalia, she had a sad smile on her face since she knew what he said was true, she looked around the area to see if there was anyone else that was going to speak up, she noticed that Leo, Hazel and Frank were absent, she wondered why, she assumed Leo was off building something or flying around with his dragon, and Hazel and Frank could possibly be on a date, but she didn't really think that much of it.
"What my brother says is true, Zeus you have forever sealed fate regarding the state of the two camps." Thalia spoke up.
"You were a little harsh after all father." Artemis spoke up, she agreed with every demigod that spoke about the hero.
She also knew it would never be the same, once she saw the fire and determination in his eyes when he said he would get out of Tartarus again, she knew he wasn't kidding and would do everything in his power to make it out of that place, and when he came back he would never be the same.
"SILENCE!" Zeus roared.
"What's done is done, there is no going back, he will rot in that hellhole until he dies." Zeus spoke.
"That's where your wrong." A new voice cut in, it radiated power everywhere that commanded everyone to listen to it or the punishment could be severe,
Hovering above them were 3 new people, everyone's eyes widened when they realized who they were and what they could do, even the gods themselves instantly felt the need to bow and hope their time wasn't up.
"Perseus Jackson, Son of Poseidon and Savior of Olympus was wrongfully sentenced, but it needed to happen for the years that are coming, he will grow stronger than anyone can imagine, but he will hold a grudge against the gods, only the people he favored can change the course of Olympus's destiny, soon the clock will start to tick and countdown, you will know when it starts." One of them spoke aloud.
They were the three fates, they had just blown everyone's mind, they had the gods sweating from the declaration that one of them, Clotho said and she wasn't lying either.
"What do you mean?" Hades asked curiously.
Everyone was shocked that Hades would talk back to them, they hoped he didn't get his life thread snipped right now.
"Hades God of The Dead, you best should know we cannot reveal much, as such we cannot say more." Lachesis spoke up.
The three fates looked at everyone, then Clotho looked to Thalia and spoke.
"Thalia Grace." Clotho spoke up.
Thalia started sweating really fast, was it her time?
"Yes ma'am?" Thalia spoke respectfully, she was trying not to sound ignorant in front of a being that had the power to end your life.
She hoped she was wrong.
"Don't fret Daughter of Zeus, your time is not here yet, you should know as of now you are the person that has the most sway over Perseus Jackson's actions, you will be the sole factor that can change everyone's destiny, that is only if you can reach him." Clotho spoke aloud, shocking everyone once again.
Thalia's eyes widened, what did that mean exactly? She knew the fates were vague all the time but she still had no idea what the meaning was behind what Clotho spoke about, for now she would just have to wonder about it and figure it out later when the time is right.
"What do you exactly mean that my lieutenant has the most sway over the boy's actions?" Artemis spoke up.
Clotho turned towards the Moon Goddess and spoke up.
"Goddess of the Moon, that is for her to find out, we cannot aide you guys anymore, this was the last piece of information you will get from us." Clotho spoke aloud.
Then the three fates left, leaving a confused group of gods and demigods, they each had their own thoughts about the matter, they were all brought out of their thoughts as Chiron spoke up.
"Okay... let's all have a meeting and try to piece together all the information we got from the fates and see if we can undo the mistake we have committed." Chiron spoke aloud.
Everyone nodded their heads and followed suit back to the camp, the gods decided they would head to Olympus and hold the council to figure out what to do.
Back at the pavilion everyone except the gods had gathered, the hunters were there with Artemis, and the campers aswell, Chiron was pacing back and forth trying to contemplate what the Fates had meant.
"Ok so we know what the fates told us, Percy will make it through Tartarus, but he won't be the same, and that Thalia has the most sway over his actions." Chiron mused aloud.
"But what does it mean exactly?" Thalia asked, she was confused on the part that she would have the power to change everyone's destiny.
"I think it means that he likes you." Piper teased her.
Thalia's eyes widened, she thought about it for a good minute, she knew that they were close friends, and with Annabeth cheating it was possible, but she was still a hunter, but she couldn't deny that Percy had been checking her out a few times when she was here, she wondered what was going on with him now.
"It's possible, but only Percy knows the truth behind the reasons." Thalia muttered.
"Oh bullshit, you just don't want to admit your feelings for him! I saw how you guys were looking at each other, it's obvious he's crushing on you." Piper retorted.
Thalia quickly blushed, she couldn't deny it either, she looked up to see Annabeth glaring at her, she quickly got angry and spoke up to the daughter of Athena.
"What do you want Chase? You lost your right to complain when you chose to cheat on him with Steve." Thalia spat angrily.
That made Annabeth sit down and not speak back to her, she knew it was true, she fucked up royally and now was paying for it, Percy would certainly want nothing to do with her when he got back, that is if he returned to camp at all.
"Whatever the reasons are, we still have to find him once he gets out of Tartarus." Chiron spoke up trying to diffuse the tension.
He hoped there was a chance he would return, but he knew deep down it wouldn't happen, Percy wouldn't want anything to do with camp anymore, so he would most likely go his own way, unless a certain reason called for him to return he wouldn't.
{Scene Break} {Tartarus}
Percy wasn't doing too well, falling down in the seemingly endless pit to Tartarus left him thinking about alot of stuff, one was just how the fuck was he going to get out of this hellhole again, and if he did what then?
He also knew he needed to slow his descent or he would be squashed instantly, but without the power of the sea he had no ideas, and for once he was feeling utterly hopeless, that's when he heard someone's voice in his head.
"Poor Perseus Jackson, you amuse me I'll say that at the least, how are you going to get out of this hellhole again?" The voice chuckled, it was clearly a female's and it was condescending too.
Percy didn't think he was hearing that, but he didn't doubt it was real, he quickly responded back.
"Who are you and why are you in my head?" Percy replied angrily, he had no time for anyone to fool around.
The voice chuckled and then spoke once again.
"In due time Perseus, first you must figure out how you are going to survive the fall." It replied back.
It went silent after that, Percy didn't even think to ask another question and went to work figuring out how to slow his descent, he knew he was closing in fast on the ground and needed a quick plan, he then felt something in his pocket.
His sword Riptide in its pen form, he quickly took it out and uncapped it, the Celestial Bronze shimmering in the depths of the pit gave him little light, he quickly stabbed the sword in the walls of the pit to try to slow his descent, it was hard for him to hold on as the sword was grinding downwards, but he managed to hold on and he noticed that he was starting to slow down.
It was five minutes before he saw the landscape of the place he never hoped to visit again, hanging about 20 feet off the ground he still had to find a way to safely reach the ground, he saw a rock that was reaching up a good bit, he quickly swung a few times to get some good propulsion and launched himself towards the rock.
He hit it in the dead center, he quickly got off the rock and hid behind it, he was now in enemy territory and would have to fight.
"Very clever Perseus, now for your next challenge, as you will see Tartarus has been increasing its activity, foes are rising again, but they have their own problems, you need to take another dip in the Styx, but you have very little chance to survive it now, since you have lost all the trust in your friends and family except for a few, but if you do survive it, I will give you what little help I can." The voice spoke, it was impressed at the quick thinking Percy pulled off.
"Okay then, and call me Percy, Perseus reminds me of my father." Percy replied in disgust.
"Ok then Percy." It replied back.
As Percy looked around, he realized that what the voice said was right, there was obvious movement going on in the area, they're were still footprints of a monster, most likely a titan due to the size, Percy wondered what exactly was going on, but for now he had to find the river Styx, but he had no idea where to start.
He briefly recalled passing it the last time he was here, he quickly scowled at the memory of him falling in here for Annabeth, never again he promised himself.
He then thought about Thalia, now that Annabeth was out of the picture there was a chance for her to be his, but she was still a hunter, and he wouldn't push her, no he would let her make her own decision about it.
As he walked across the hard surface of the pit, his motivation grew with each step, furthering his resolve the whole way to the river.
Finally after an hour of walking he came across the river Styx, as he looked at the dark waters that held the chance for invulnerability, he walked down to the shore to prepare himself.
He then took a deep breath and walked in and submerged himself in the water, this time it was more painful than he remembered, it felt like a blazing inferno was tearing apart his insides, every muscle and fiber was burning crazily, he thought it was over, he started to see faces he never wanted to see again, which didn't help at all.
He saw Annabeth kissing Steve, something in him snapped that moment and his eyes clenched, he saw Poseidon voting for his sentence after that, all these images caused his anger to flare crazily
All these images burned away like they were made of paper soaked in gasoline, and a muffled roar of agony could be heard from the bottom of the river, the Styx wasn't going to be the end of Percy Jackson, not by a long shot.
Suddenly Percy saw an image of Thalia with tears in her eyes, he heard people calling for him, wanting him to return, but they were muffled and couldn't be heard correctly, only Thalia's was the one he heard clearly.
"Your not dying on me now Kelp Head!" He heard her voice in his head.
Suddenly he felt a stinging sensation in his back, and he shot outwards out of the river like a cannon and onto the shore, panting out of breath, he knew he did it again, but this time Thalia was his anchor and his reason to continue onwards, he wanted to wipe those tears so bad and make sure she never cried again, but sadly there was more important stuff that needed dealt with.
He then heard a voice near him this time, he quickly looked up to see someone familiar, he remembered her well, if she was the one who was speaking to him, he wondered why, since they had fought before, this was Nyx the Primordial Goddess of the Night.
"Impressive Percy Jackson, it's seems I was wrong about you, I was sure you would be consumed by the river, but you survived it once again, this time you had barely anything to hold on too, but you managed to hold on to a hope of a better future with a certain daughter of Zeus." Nyx spoke with a sly smile.
"Nyx, sorry If I come off as offensive, but why are you here?" Percy asked curiously.
"It was me who was in your head Percy, I said I would help you out and will." Nyx replied.
"What do you mean?" Percy asked cautiously.
"Normally the only ways out of Tartarus are through the doors or by the gods themselves, but I can give you the power to get out on your own." Nyx replied.
"How so?" Percy asked confused.
"I am Nyx the Primordial Goddess of Night, the shadows are part of my domain, with my blessing you can shadow travel out of this place and continue onwards." Nyx spoke up.
Percy was silent for quite sometime, mulling it over he knew it was the right thing to do, it would be a quick way out, he would be stupid to deny it, so he did the most logical thing.
"Ok, I will accept your help." Percy replied.
Nyx had a smile on her face, then she spoke up.
"I Nyx, Primordial Goddess of the Night, bless you Percy Jackson with power over my domain." Nyx spoke aloud.
Percy felt an energy rush through him as he gained control over Nyx's domain.
"With the power of my domain, you can shadow travel and control them to fight for you." Nyx spoke aloud.
"Thank you, how do I shadow travel?" Percy asked confused.
"Just imagine where you want to go and jump into the shadows to travel." Nyx replied.
Percy nodded and thought about Manhattan to visit someone special to him, his mother Sally, and jumped through the shadows.
{Scene Break} {Camp Half Blood}
Nico Di Angelo was not having a good day at all, first he was super tired from all the work he was doing with his dad in the underworld, then he got an Iris Message from Thalia saying it was urgent and he needed to get to camp fast.
As he shadowed traveled out of the underworld and appeared right outside his cabin that he made recently after the war with Gaea.
He noticed the camp was mostly deserted, he started walking towards the pavilion to see if their was a meeting going on, as he finally neared it he noticed there was only a few people there.
Thalia was, Chiron aswell and Grover, those where the only people there, and he could tell something was wrong since everyone's faces had a somber expression plastered across it.
As he finally walked on the pavilion they noticed him, and he could tell it was more serious than he thought, their expression hadn't changed at all after seeing him.
"What's wrong guys?" Nico asked, a part of him didn't want to know.
But he needed to know, there was something about it that involved him, or at least it would effect him.
"Nico my boy, I don't know how to say this but.. Percy has been sentenced to Tartarus for attacking Zeus's new son." Chiron explained.
Nico was silent after that sentence was uttered.
"Why did he attack him?" Nico asked somberly.
Chiron looked down, then Thalia spoke.
"Annabeth decided it was a good idea to cheat on Percy with Zeus's son, and when he saw them he lost it." Thalia explained to him.
Nico instantly felt unbridled fury, he just wanted to drag the spawn of Athena to the depths of the pit and leave her there to rot, how could she do that to Percy? He wondered that as he heard Thalia speak.
He wanted to confirm it that it was true, so he asked a question via telepathy to his father.
"Dad? Is it true that Percy is in Tartarus?" Nico asked.
Hades was silent for a little bit, then he responded to his son.
"Yes son, sadly it is true, but I think he will be fine." Hades replied.
"What do you mean?" Nico replied curiously.
"It seems the fates had taken an interest in him, they arrived shortly after he was sentenced to the pit, ask your demigod friends about it, they said some stuff that needs the meaning behind it figured out." Hades replied.
"Guys what did the fates say?" Nico asked aloud.
They were surprised quickly at how he knew.
"How do you know?" Thalia asked quietly.
"My dad told me telepathically." Nico explained.
"They said that 1. he is going to make it out, but he will never be the same, and that currently I'm the person that has the most influence on him." Thalia replied.
That shocked Nico quite a bit, before he could speak up a shriek of surprised was heard in his head.
"WHAT? HOW? Impossible..." Hades spoke in surprised.
Nico jumped from the shock, If Hades was shocked then there was a good reason, the others noticed and had raised eyebrows.
"Whats wrong dad?" Nico asked cautiously.
"Perseus has already made it out of Tartarus, I don't sense his soul anywhere in the underworld." Hades replied quickly.
Nico's eyes widened quickly, his mouth was agape.
"Hey earth to Nico! What's up?" Thalia asked confused.
"Percy has already made it out." Nico explained.
Grover did a spit take with the nectar he was drinking, he took a sharp look at Nico to see if he was telling the truth, all of them did aswell.
"What? How in the world did Kelp Head make it back so fast?" Thalia muttered.
"He had to of had some help." Chiron mused.
Nico nodded as well as Grover and Thalia.
"Definitely, to escape the pit so fast, he had to of had some kind of help." Nico spoke up.
"Where do you think he will go? I doubt he will come back here." Grover spoke up.
"True, maybe he might visit his mom? We might get some clues from her." Thalia spoke aloud.
"Ok Nico and Thalia you guys head to Sally's place and see if they know anything." Chiron spoke up.
Both of them nodded then started to walk out of the camps border.
{Scene Break} {Prior to Nico finding out about Percy}
Percy had just arrived in the bustling streets of downtown Manhattan, he was headed towards his mom's apartment to tell her about what was going on and what he is going to do.
As he was walking down the familiar streets of the city he used to call home, he knew he would be leaving it all behind.
After about 15 minutes of walking he finally arrived at his mom's place, walking up the steps he prepared himself for a conversation that would be hard for everyone that would be present in the room, he also knew it would shock them with what he had planned.
Knocking twice on the door, he waited for someone to come, 2 minutes later it opened revealing Paul Blofis.
Percy had fond memories of Paul, he knew he wasn't like his old stepdad Gabe, and that Paul actually cared about Sally.
"Percy? What are you doing here? Is something wrong?" Paul asked confused.
Percy's eyebrow's rose as he wondered if they were informed of his sentence or not, clearing his throat he spoke up.
"I need to talk to my mom, It's important." Percy spoke up.
Paul stepped back and let him come in.
"Sally? Percy is here." Paul called for Sally.
Sally came out of the kitchen and was extremely happy to see her child, she quickly hugged him, he did the natural thing and hugged her back, once she pulled away she spoke up.
"Percy what's the matter? What do you need to tell me that important?" Sally asked confused.
"Take a seat, both of you, what I have to say is hard for even me." Percy spoke up.
They both raised eyebrows at his statement but complied nonetheless, they didn't know what to expect.
"So what's a matter?" Sally asked sincerely.
"I'll start at the beginning, about a week ago there was a new camper, a son of Zeus to be exact, he started gaining popularity too fast, and he didn't even do that much to gain it, I was pretty much forgotten, then there came the day of capture the flag, I found Annabeth cheating on me with him, in a flurry of rage I lost myself and attacked him, which lead me to being sentenced to Tartarus, I recently just escaped from the pit with some help." Percy explained.
Sally had tears in her eyes instantly as she heard her boy.
"Oh my..." Paul muttered sadly.
"How could they?! Percy tell me Poseidon defended you!" Sally asked seriously.
Percy shook his head.
"He was one of the ones who voted for my sentence." Percy replied somberly.
Sally quickly narrowed her eyes, it was obvious that she didn't like that at all.
"So what are you going to do now? If the gods find out you have gotten out they will most likely put you back there." Paul asked.
"Well I've been thinking, and I've got something in mind." Percy replied.
"What?" Sally asked confused.
"I think I'm going to take a extended vacation to Alaska, being that it is the land beyond the gods." Percy spoke up.
"Well I wish you the best of luck Percy, I love you." Sally said before rushing him and bear hugging him.
"I know mom, I will keep in touch, and do me a favor, If anyone asks where I went, tell them you don't know, but if it's Thalia, Grover or Nico you can tell them." Percy spoke.
"Oh? how are things going with Thalia? been a while since I've seen her." Sally asked.
"Well it's complicated, she's my anchor when I took a dip in the river Styx in Tartarus before leaving, I can honestly say she will be the only person who I possibly have a romantic relationship with, but she is with the hunters, so I'm not going to force her." Percy replied.
"That's the right thing to do, I hope you find yourselves together in a real family in the future hon." Sally replied.
"Well I think I overstayed a bit too long, I'm going to head out before Olympus catches wind of my escape, I will keep in touch." Percy spoke up.
Paul and Sally nodded and watched him leave the apartment, which they hoped wouldn't be the last time, after he left they started to talk to each other about what they learned.
"I can't believe that his father would do that! And that Annabeth..." Sally muttered in anger.
"I know Sally, It seems they don't really care how they're decisions affect others." Paul spoke up.
Sally was about to speak up, but a knock came at the door, they both looked to it for a second before Sally walked up and opened it, revealing none other than Nico and Thalia.
"Mrs. Jackson can we come in?" Nico asked.
"Sure sure come on in." Sally ushered them in.
They both sat down on the couch.
"Sally any chance that you've seen Percy recently?" Thalia asked seriously.
Sally giggled, which made the two of them raise their eyebrows.
"Oh yes I did, you actually just missed him." Sally replied.
Both of them had their eyes widened and their mouths agape.
"So you know?" Nico asked curious.
"Know about his betrayal you could say? Oh yes, I can't believe Annabeth would do that!" Sally muttered angrily.
"Ma'am we're both terribly sorry about this." Nico muttered sadly.
"Oh don't worry, Percy actually mentioned you two." Sally spoke up.
"Huh?" Thalia asked confused, she wondered what he said.
"Well not as much as Thalia, but he considered Nico a good friend." Sally giggled again.
"What did he say?" Thalia asked curiously.
"Well for first off, he took another dip in the Styx, but this time your his anchor." Sally said while pointing to Thalia.
Thalia quickly blushed, Nico gaped as he understood what it meant for someone to be an anchor when bathing in that river.
"Anything else?" Thalia asked while forcing down her blush.
"Oh yes, something along the lines of romantics." She giggled again while seeing Thalia flustered.
"So he does like me like that.." Thalia thought happily.
"Did he say where he was going?" Nico asked seriously.
"Oh yes, Alaska since it is the land beyond the gods." Sally replied.
Their eyes both widened, he was planning on going that far?
"We need to find him now!" Thalia spoke up.
"You two best hurry, he might be able to travel faster now, he said he had help getting out of Tartarus, he didn't really say that much about the help, quickly go find him!" Sally spoke happily.
The two of them nodded and raced out the door, hoping to find him before it was too late.
