Spring 2, Year 1:

It is just after noon, and I'm buzzing. This morning I figured out my routine: feed Betty (my cow), water crops, let Betty outside and then my day is free. I went around and met everyone in town, and quite a few faces stood out from the rest.

Kathy was one of them. The bar was closed, yet she let me in to show me around. We sat together at the table and sipped tea. Kathy told me about the town and never let that heavy-lidded gaze separate from me. Half-way through the conversation, her knee started rubbing against mine and her voice took on a quieter, lower tone. Just before anything progressed, her father came in, and Kathy fixed her posture up to be the good little girl. She stood up, and I swear I saw her father staring at her mini-skirt, and maybe even down that tie-top. I really should avoid that bar. It smells in there anyways.

I met a man named Chase at the church. He was upset because the stoves wouldn't work and he couldn't cook. His soft purple eyes made my heart thunder and I hoped he didn't notice. The thundering stopped when I heard he worked as a cook at the bar, though.

That was it. Everyone else was not my age, and kept dumping their problems on me. So annoying. I was not a soap box. When I finally introduced myself to everyone, I had to deliver a toolbox to a boy name Bo who was fixing the bridge to Garmon Mines. To help, I gave him some milk and a strawberry. He started working and I'm sure it will be ready by tomorrow. I need to go across that bridge to see the Harvest Goddess, so I hope soon.

Oddly my mind keeps tracing back to Kathy. She really is a beautiful girl. I wonder why she kept looking at me in that strange way.

It is only noon, but I'm dead tired. I'll go let Betty back inside and sleep until tomorrow morning. Today was a long day.
