Chapter 01: The Aftermath and The Other Sky
Lily chopped the vegetables for the omelette that she was going to cook for their breakfast and the redheaded woman hummed softly as she worked. Sure, the Potters' had a house elf, but she enjoyed cooking. Plus, it served as a reminder to her of the days she spent cooking with her mother.
The pan sizzled as she cooked the omelette, the smell of the food wafting throughout the kitchen. As usual, she prepared four plates. And, after cooking, she placed the food on the dining table.
She washed her hands clean and then proceeded to call her family down. Almost immediately, a blur of red came barrelling into her, causing the woman to chuckle at her eldest' boundless energy.
"Good mowning, Mama!" Henry beamed up at her. Lily crouched down and kissed him on his forehead. "Good morning, Henry" she says with a soft smile.
The mother lifted her child up and sat him down in his usual sit. As she does this, her husband comes in. "Good morning, my Lily-flower" he says as he kisses her in the cheek before sitting down at the head of the table.
She smiles at him warmly and also sat down so that they can begin eating. However, something felt off. She pushes her uneasy feeling aside and started to help Henry eat when, suddenly, she notices that her other son hasn't come down yet.
Lily frowns. Normally, Harry would have been down here by now. Her uneasy feeling started to become stronger, causing the woman to stand up. "Lils?" Her husband looked at her questioningly.
"I'm going to check on Harry" she tells her husband. Understanding dawned on James' and he felt a pang of guilt for once again forgetting about his other son. He knew that he and Lily played favorites and often forgot about the quiet little boy.
He nodded to his wife and went over to his son to help him eat as he watched the redheaded woman move towards the stairs.
As the said woman climbed the stairs, she felt trepidation and dread fill her entire being. She couldn't explain it, but something tells her that what she'll find out wouldn't be good. Call it a woman's intuition.
Reaching the door of her younger son's room, she hesitantly opened it. Her eyes widened and her heart pounded fast. Harry was not in his room. 'Calm down' she thought to herself. 'No need to panic. Maybe he just went to the bathroom or some other place in the house. You're being irrational, Lily.'
Nonetheless, she calls for their house elf. As soon as the house elf popped in front of her, she asked, "Have you seen Harry?". Worry gripped at her heart as she watched the house elf shake his head.
"Me be no seeing little master Harry since the Masters and Mistress came back from their walky" he replied, causing the remaining color on her face to drain away.
They must have forgotten Harry at the park! Lily immediately dashed to inform her husband, her face pale and her eyes swirling with emotions.

Harry blinked his eyes open. Sitting up, he rubbed his eyes and yawned. Turning his head, he saw an unfamiliar boy standing beside the bed.
The boy had blond hair with his bangs pinned to the side. He also had a scar running across his nose and sharp fangs that made him seem feral and threatening to the green eyed four years old.
His eyes widened in fear, confusion, and surprise, and he curled up into a ball, scared of the unknown person. Was he kidnapped? Would he ever see his family again? They may often forget about him, but he still loved them! The thought of never seeing his family ever again brought tears to his eyes. He sniffled.
The person beside the bed shouted something in a language he didn't understand.
Before long, he saw a brown haired girl come in, glaring at the unknown person. He recognized the girl as the nice girl who comforted him at the park.
The brunette retorted something in the same unknown language before coming over to him and lifted him up while hugging him tightly.
The green eyed little boy relaxed at the contact. It was warm, comforting, and accepting. It was what he imagined a mother's hugs to be. Something he very rarely, if ever, experienced.
Something about the girl made him draw near, made people draw near... Maybe being here wouldn't be so bad, after all.

James held his sobbing wife, regret and guilt filling him up. When his wife came running down the stairs, face pale and shouting his name, he knew that something bad has happened.
He had immediately stood up and made way to his babbling wife. She was in hysterics, and it was hard to understand what she was saying. He made out the words 'Harry', 'park', and 'left', though.
He tried to connect the dots, and suddenly, he understood what his wife was saying. His face had also paled, but he had kept his composure.
James immediately called Sirius, asking him to take care of Henry while they looked for Harry. As soon as their friend arrived, he and Lily apparated away to the park. Who cares if someone saw them? Their child was missing.
Luckily for them, though, there were no people at the park yet and they wouldn't get in trouble with the ministry. He whipped out his wand and performed the point me spell.
For some reason, the spell didn't work, causing him to frown and causing his wife to become even more worried. The two tried every other spell they knew, but each and every time, it still kept failing. The two then resorted to searching for Harry by asking people and looking around.
None had seen him, though. And those who did, only said that they passed him by the park bench. When nothing came up, they finally went to their old Headmaster for help. He was a wise old wizard with lots of experience, he's bound to know something that could help with the search.
So, off to Dumbledore they went. They still found nothing, though. Even after using a scrying mirror. The Headmaster said something about something like a mist blocking where Harry was.
Hearing this, the parents began losing hope, and both felt guilt, regret, and many other emotions. Lily had also began berating herself, of how she was such an awful mother, of how she was a failure of a mother.
James held her through it all, being the pillar of strength she needed. He just hoped that wherever Harry was, that he was safe and happy, getting the attention he deserves.

Tsuna knew that she had acted rashly, taking the kid so suddenly without looking for someone who knew him or whatever, especially since they were currently on the run. She had just dragged the kid into the mess, endangering his safety.
She couldn't help it, though! The child reminded her of her younger brother by one year, a brother that she hadn't seen for five years.
That was her fault though. She had the opportunity to go back home many times, but she had grown attached to the group that had saved her when she had gotten kidnapped by a few Mafiosi. Although they really didn't intend to save her...
Anyway, Mukuro already gave his approval, but if the kid didn't want to go with, then she would bring him back. Not to say that she would just take it without doing anything... she's got a few tricks up her sleeve, like for example, her heavenly cooking that no one could resist...

Mukuro watched Tsuna move around the kitchen, thinking of how much she'd changed over the past five years. She was still accepting and loving, that part never changed, but she was no longer the skittish and overtly shy little girl that he met.
There were times that she'd show those aspects of hers, but all in all, she became more strong. Mentally, emotionally, and physically.
As he watched the girl that they all came to care for– after all, it was very hard not to– the eldest in the group, Lancia, stood next to him.
"Is it alright to let her keep the kid?" Lancia asked. Mukuro laughed eerily. "Kufufufu~ you go talk to her and deny what she wants." He tells the older male.
Lancia lets out a sigh. No can do, then. Once Tsuna decides she wants something very much, there's no stopping her. Those times are very rare, though, and you could say it only happens once in a blue moon.
The older male stood by and watched as Mukuro moved from his spot and went towards Tsuna. Flustering the girl was something Mukuro enjoyed doing, he was practically an expert at it already.
Lancia sighed once again. Maybe they should have bought the puppy that Tsuna so wanted.

Meanwhile in Namimori...
A blond haired 12 years old opened the door to the house that he and his mother occupied. "I'm home," he announces as he removes his shoes.
"Welcome home~" his mother answers. Nana walks up to him, smiling brightly while wiping her hands at her apron.
Sawada Ieyasu, 12 years old, was the only son of Sawada Nana and Iemitsu. He was also the younger brother of Sawada Tsunayoshi who was kidnapped when she was eight years old, and he, seven years old.
The topic of his sister was taboo in the house seeing as the members of the household were still suffering and grieving for the lost girl.
"Ah, that's right, this was in the mail box this morning." his mother says, holding up a flyer in her right hand. "I already called them up too~"
He took the flyer from her hand, and started reading. "A tutor?!" He asked incredulously. "But Mom, I don't need a tutor!" Ieyasu exclaimed.
His grades were good, and he couldn't think of any test that he failed. If ever he didn't know an answer to a question, he relied on his gut feeling that always proved to be true. In fact, his grades were so good, that he actually skipped a year.
His mother deflated at that. "It had sounded nice. We would also have another companion at home." She says. It was written there on the flyer that the tutor would be living at their house while he was being tutored. That was probably what had made the brunette call the tutor.
He knew that his mother was often lonely, what with his after school activities and his father almost never coming home. But this... he did not need a tutor! Plus, warning bells were going off in his head, telling him that it might not be good for him.
One look at his mother's wounded puppy look had him caving, though. "Well...I guess it wouldn't hurt to try..." he says reluctantly. His mother immediately brightened, flowers and sparkles appearing in the background.
He had a feeling that he would thoroughly regret this though.

Reborn, the greatest Hitman in the world, was in a good mood. He had received a mission from Nono to go to Namimori and to tutor the future Vongola Decimo since all the other eligible candidates had died one way or another.
The cursed Hitman liked jobs like this. It was like a vacation for him and a breathe of fresh air. Plus, he also gets to tortu– I mean, tutor, future mafia bosses.
So when the targe– student's mother called, he was more or less ecstatic. Of course, he doesn't show it. What kind of Hitman would he be if he can't hide his emotions?
He rang the doorbell and patiently waited for the door to open. A few seconds later, a brunette opened the door, smiling cheerily. Seeing no one, a frown formed on her face.
"Ciaossu" he greeted, causing the woman to look down. "Ara, ara, where's your parents, little boy?" She asks.
Reborn expertly ignores her questions and immediately cuts to the chase. "I'm the tutor, Reborn" he introduces himself.
Nana smiles at him indulgently and led him in, asking him what he wants for a drink. Sitting across the blond boy he was to tutor, he was struck by the boy's looks.
He knew from the report that the candidate looked a lot like Vongola Primo, but he hadn't expected for the boy to look exactly like his namesake.
It was like looking at a young Vongola Primo. He mentally shook himself from his shock and assessed his student. The boy was looking at him with caution. Huh, so the Vongola Hyper Intuition must be active in him. After all, he was in the form of a baby, he shouldn't be so cautious of a baby.
The Hitman heard Sawada-san (call me Maman~) instruct her son to bring him to his room. With great reluctance, Ieyasu led him to his room.
As soon as he entered the room, he analyzed his student's living quarters and found it clean for a boy's room. The bed was made and no clothes littered the floor. There were some books lying here and there, some text books and some mystery novels.
There was a small, low, round table at the center of the room and had cushions serving as the chairs. Ieyasu led him to the table and sat down on a cushion.
With no further ado, Reborn started explaining the true reason as to why he was here. Through it all, Ieyasu sat there, stunned into silence. After a few moments, it seems that all the information finally sunk down in his head, as he shrieked in disbelief.
"What?! No way! You've got to be kidding! I won't be a Mafia boss!" He shouted out, causing Reborn to hit him in the head with a Leon-turned-mallet.
"You've got no say in this. It has already been decided that you are to inherit seeing as there's no one else to do so." The baby tells him.
After recovering from the hit, Ieyasu looked up with a glare, his eyes becoming tinted with orange.
"No." The boy says, "I won't be a Mafia boss. That's exactly the opposite of what I want to be! I want to be a detective when I grow up, not a Mafia boss!" Ieyasu declares, causing Reborn to raise an eyebrow.
Huh, this was the first time he encountered a Mafia boss candidate who wants to be a detective. This was going to be hard...Oh well, nothing the number one Hitman can't handle.
