"I'm sorry, but I just don't remember you!"
The Doctor had just spent the last three hours, if you could believe it, trying to convince Gonzo that he knew him.
"That's because I wiped your memories."
"You WHAT!"
"In theory, your head was supposed to explode when you saw me. But then, you never did like playing by the rules. Nothing personal, but frankly, I was rather looking forward to it."
"Oh, sorry. Here, maybe if I try to-"
"Gonzo, you've always been a good friend to me."
"Oh, there's my name!"
"And I know I haven't always been there for you."
"You haven't?"
"No, but I'm going to make it up to you now."
"Well seeing as I don't even remember you, why don't we just start over?"
"Really?"
"Sure! It'll work perfectly!"
The Doctor smiled sadly as Gonzo walked around gazing in amazement at the Tardis interior.
"Crookbeak, I feel that I should tell you -"
"You've talked enough for one night! Wanna go get sushi?" Gonzo interrupted.
The Doctor blinked and smiled thinly. "Sure" he whispered.
"Great!"
They walked out together into the dimly lit studio.
