Dude, check that out! There they go, I thought. Paul collided with Jake mid-air and Jake's clothes and shoes flew in tattered shreds onto the ground. Sam was going to be furious with them now.

I turned to Jared. "Ten on Jacob," I yelled to him across the field.

"No way," Jared called back. "Make it fifteen, and loser also takes an extra night patrol."

"Half a night," I shot back.

"Done – fifteen and a half-night's patrol."

"Watch it, you two," Sam warned us, a low growl in his voice. "First priority is keeping them far enough away from Bella."
