This chapter's a flashback! From Elena's years in highschool! Hope you enjoy it!

March 10, 2007 9:54am.

Elena's POV

Fuck! I forgot my science project. Now I'm going to get an F.

I walk down the school hall to get to my locker. When I reach my locker, I see one of my best friends leaning over it. Bonnie. We've been friends ever since first grade. When this one idiot tried to steal Bonnie's juice box. I punched him and I got sent to the office. 2 years later, it turns out the idiot was none other than Tyler Lockwood. Eventually, we got over it and became friends.

"Hey Bonnie!" I say cheerfully.

She doesn't answer. She just hugs me, really tight.

"Uh Bonnie? Why are you hugging me so tightly?"

She pulls back and smiles. "Because it's your 16th birthday, you dummy!"

I frown. Is it really my birthday? Wow. I guess it has been long.

People over hear our conversation, and come to say happy birthday to me. All the freshman basically praise me.

You might be wondering why people did that. It's because I'm "Queen Bee". Aka the most popular girl in school. Don't know why but I don't care.

"So Elena, are you gonna throw a party or what?" Her other girl best friend Caroline asked while fixing her hair next to Bonnie. Me and Caroline met in 4th grade. She had a crush on the guy I liked, so you can see how that went. But then, we became friends and totally forgot about the guy.

"Of course I am! My parents have a council meeting so they'll miss my birthday" I say cheerfully. I can't wait to see all the presents my friends got me!

My mood suddenly changes after seeing him, walking down the hall. Literally the hottest guy in Mystic Falls. Damon Salvatore. Every girl knows him. Even I do, but not personally. And should I mention the most badass man ever. Or so says every other girl. Sure I like him, he's hot, what's not to like. But like every other guy I know, he's a fucking womanizer. Can never settled down, always jumping back and forth between girls.

He walks with his "crew" beside him. Stefan Salvatore. His long distant cousin or something. Lorenzo aka Enzo. Damon's best friend. Klaus Mikaelson and Kol Mikealson. The rich kids. They give Damon money if he needs it. And last but certainly not least, Mason Lockwood. He'd always been jealous of Damon.

Damon smirks at all the girls gawking over him. Typical. It's always the same.

He looks at me and winks. All the other guys do the same as him. All except for Stefan. Stefan's gay, so instead of smirking and winking at the girls, he does it to the boys.

When they finally leave the hall I see Bonnie and Caroline blushing and obviously talking about them. I go to tell them that they should get over them, but the bell rings.

I turn around and walk the other direction. I hate my first class. Mr. Smith's class. My science class. Well here comes the yelling of why I left my project.

I walk into his classroom. He takes attendance before asking for our projects. And as I predicted, he was yelling at me.

Finally! It was lunchtime! I basically run out of my classroom. I'm fucking starving. I get in the line and order my food. I sit at my usual table. Where all the "popular kids" hang out. I sit next to Matt and Caroline. Me and Matt dated in middle school. We broke it off in 8th grade, after 2 years together. Thankfully it wasn't awkward. And pretty much after that we became best friends. In front of us is Bonnie and Tyler.

"So Elena, I hear you're gonna throw a party for your birthday. What time does it start?" Tyler asks me.

"At 6pm"

Before Tyler could reply, someone from behind us did. "Perfect, I'll be there".

I turn around and see the one and only Damon Salvatore. Ugh just great, I don't need this today.

"No, Damon you're not invited".

His eyes widened with amusement. "I thought you didn't know my name"

I roll my eyes. "Of course I know your name. Every one does!"

He smirks and nods. "Yup, I'm basically the king of this school and your the queen, so why don't we just get together and rule this kingdom?" He said every single word so seductively it made my body tingle.

I shake my head. "I'd rather be captured and be tortured than ever be with you!"

He holds a hand to his heart. "That was so hurtful. I think I'll never be able to recover from that". He says with a sarcastic voice.

"Why are you even here?"

"It's the cafeteria. I'm allowed to be here".

I shake my head again. "I mean here, where I am"

"I just wanted to say happy birthday. And get invited to your party".

"Hell no. You're not invited!"

He pouts. "Why not? I can make parties way more fun!"

"No! Now go away!"

I turn back around to face my food. I feel a tap on my shoulder. And of course it's Damon.

"Please? Pretty please?" He pouts even more than the last time. He's obviously not gonna stop until I say yes.

I sigh and groan. "Fine you can come. Now leave me alone!"

He smiles and leaves.

Well my 16th birthday party is now officially ruined.

Okay so in this story Elena's 26 and so is Damon, Caroline, Bonnie,Matt, Tyler and Enzo.

In the past they are all 15, just months apart.

Damon's older than Elena by 5 months.
