Song of the man house elf

My version of "Song of the roustabouts" from "Dumbo", on how Harry feels about being the Dursleys' man house elf.

Hike! Ugh! Hike! Ugh! Hike! Ugh! Hike!

I work all day, I work all night

I never learned to smile and laugh

I'm a happy-hearted man house elf

Hike! Ugh! Hike! Ugh! Hike! Ugh! Hike!

While relatives enjoy their day

I slave until I'm almost dead

I'm a happy-hearted man house elf

Hike! Ugh! Hike! Ugh! Hike! Ugh! Hike!

I don't know when I smiled last time

But when I do they whip it all away

I might smile though, however brief

But only with their backs infront my face

Muscles aching

Back near breaking

Eggs and bacon what I need

Uncle honding

Keep on ponding

For your bed and feed

There are no let up

Must get set up

Weed the garden! Scrub the floor!

Want to doze off

Get my clothes off

But must keep awake

Hep! Heave! Hep! Heave! Hep! Heave!

Hep! Heave! Hep! Heave! Hep! Heave!

Hep! Heave! Hep!

Make our food! Do dishes!

Clean and scrub up all day long

You happy-hearted man house elf!

Cleaning, weeding, scrubbing, washing

Keep on working!

Stop that shirking!

Get to work, ungreatful freak!

Working! Working! Working! Working!

Work! Work! Work! Work!

Oh!
