Ch. 2

I opened my eyes. Grey was the first thing I saw. I looked around. My plane was in water. I opened the cabin and splashed my face with water, and it exploded with pain. "Holy, mother of shit!" I held my face, and felt something off. It was gooey. I looked into the water, and saw something scarier than Trinity, death and Markov combined. My skin was peeling everywhere, and I looked like a zombie. Thinking that it was just stress, I initiated a water-to-air takeoff and headed for my home in DC.

(Fifty Minutes Later)

How the hell did I get into a desert?

I looked around. Before I could comprehend my surroundings, I suddenly heared my HUD alert, "Caution, Low Fuel. Please land and refuel. If no conventional fuel is available, refer to your user manual for alternatives". Making an emergency landing, I saw a MASSIVE pile of scrap metal, and I saw two other people, and a cow next to it.

Running to them, I shouted "Hey! Do you know where the nearest airfield is?" Then they looked at me like I had two heads. The one in a dirty buisness suit asked me "Now, what's a ghoul like you doing out here?"

'Did he just insult me?'

"Excuse me?" I asked. He held up a mirror. That face again. Wait... The cow had two heads!

"What the hell's up with that cow?" I inquired. That look again. Feeling suspicious, I flipped down my visor and asked it "What is the date?"

It responded with "Today is Tuesday, June second, Two-Thousand Two-Hundred and seventy six, 18:57."

Feeling even more suspicious, I said "Initiate playback of most recent radio transmissions on radio frequency 0677."

It recited "Most recent transmission 199 years ago. Playing:"

"Magic to Warwolf, can you hear me? Nuclear war is breaking out! DEFCON One, man!"

"End of playback."

The man smirked. "Oh, so you were in a 200 year coma, huh? Bullshit. Anyway, if you need a place to stay just go into Megaton. Just avoid Moriarity. Or, maybe you can get yourself into one of those fancy-pants Vaults."

I ignored him. The important thing was getting home.

Can someone take this and use it in their own story? Otherwise, I might forget about this.
