Edd's POV

I walked down the hall to Calculus class, I've always loved this class. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Marie. I subtly braced myself for her love attack, but it never came. I stepped over the threshold of my classroom with a sort of uncertainty. She was there. Why didn't she go after me? Is she sick? Or she not interested in me anymore?

That last question sent a type of relief throughout my body but there was also a tinge of something else; disappointment.

"Edd," My head snapped up, "Can you answer the problem?" My teacher asked as he pointed to the problem on the board.

"Um," I wasn't paying attention, this has never happened before. And out of all things I was thinking of Marie Kanker. "36." I guessed hoping that I was correct.

"Very good, Edd."

I sighed in relief, "that was a close one," I mumbled. I didn't want a repeat of what just happened so I dove into my work, leaving any thoughts of Marie Kanker in the back of my mind

"Thank you, Ms. Charles." I said as I walked out of my physics class. The last class of the day. I walked to my locker and opened it with ease. I piled my text books, notebooks, and other miscellaneous school supplies in my arms. I cautiously headed down the hall when out of nowhere, my foot got caught on something. I came crashing down, the items in my arms, scattering across the floor.

I looked up to see the guy who tripped me was one of the football players. He and his friends were laughing at me. I looked down in shame and started to gather my things. Then a pair of black combat boots appeared in front of me. I trailed my eyes up until I spotted the freckles and blue hair.

A sense of anxiety filled me, "Marie, please…"

She handed me a handful of pencils, "Hush." Her voice wasn't hostile, or pushy, it was gentle. She turned to the group of football players, "HEY!" She yelled. A strand of profanity and threats poured out of her mouth.

She put her hands on her hips. She has really filled out since we were younger. The way she slouched a small amount was kind of cute, and the pink belt really accented her soft side and what am I saying?! This is Marie Kanker! MARIE KANKER! I'm gawking over Marie Kanker.

I was ripped away from my thoughts by the football player, his face shadowed with pain, apologized to me. I looked up at Marie in amazement. My eyes were the size of saucers. She picked up the nearest pen and handed it to me. "Thank you Marie." I said with a small smile. She smiled back walked down the hall, not looking back.

I watched her walk down the hall. Her hips swinging, and her boots making soft clicks against the marble looking floors. Maybe I could give Marie a chance. She has been nice lately. And she is quite-WHAT AM I THINKING?! I'm talking about Marie! Marie Kanker! The girl who has been tormenting me since I was little. I can't let my guard down. Not now not ever.

Hey guys! Thanks for reading, sorry that this chapter is so short. I don't own Ed, Edd and Eddy or any of its characters. Don't forget to review! ^-^
