high school hero - Thank you very much! Haha, there's certainly a lot less drama in this story than MMG X'D Aw, thank you! I'm so glad you're enjoying it!

Poetic Gamer - Eeeek, ah, I'm so glad I proved you right! :D Hahaha, you will always be the streak of my first review! ;D

Regular sonic fan - That is so lovely to hear, thank you ever so much! :D

Mobius Freak - Hahahaa! We've all gotta take a break from the drama sometimes! XD Aw, I'm so glad you think so, thank you! Thank you very much!

scourge HD - Hey! Thank you for your review - I'm afraid I couldn't find that story? If you want to PM me a link to it, I'll happily take a look! Thank you so much!

ERA OF ERICK - I completely get why the use of "nappy" sounds odd in comparison to "diaper". The reason for my use of "nappy" is because that is the British term and I am from England, however, it sounds odd because Shadow and Silver are American. I will try and switch between the two when I can, to make it sound more authentic. Thank you very much!

Nate the Werehog - Thank you very much! :D Haha, no, Shadow isn't exactly parent material! X'D

Princess Flare the Fox - Hee hee!

ShadAmy1Fan - Thank you ever so much! :3

Sara668 - ¡Gracias por tu encantador comentario! (I'm afraid my Spanish comes from Google Translate XD)

Fan of Nirvana 2015 - Thank you SO much! :D

Guest - Agreed! xD

Chapter Two

Such a Cute Couple

Shadow grimaced at the racks of baby clothes in front of him. He had never visited a baby shop before and, apart from the obvious, he now knew why. The store lights were eye-burningly bright, and there was nothing here that interested Shadow in the slightest.

"Silver," Shadow nudged the grey hedgehog, who was mulling over the choice of cherry-red shoes or sky-blue shoes. After what seemed like an eternity, Silver dumped the red shoes into the basket that Shadow was holding, before jiggling Sonic on his hip. The blue cub seemed to enjoy this, as he squealed, delighted.

"Baby or not, Sonic's always got to have running shoes," Silver explained. He then made his way over to the aisle of nappies, looking hilariously odd with Sonic hitched to his side. Shadow couldn't let this chance pass: he pulled out his camera phone and snapped a picture of the unaware hedgehog.

Silver spun around and narrowed his eyes, accusingly, "What did you just do?"

"Nothing," Shadow looked back at him, innocently, before he stood next to Silver, "What are we getting now?"

He pulled a face, "Well, we need nappies. But I'm not sure which ones. We should ask someone."

Before Shadow could comprehend the embarrassment, Silver had wandered over to a sales assistant, who was putting jars of baby food onto the shelves. He tapped her on the shoulder, then moved back, so that she could stand up from her kneeling position.

"Hello, Sir. Do you need help with something?" The sales assistant was a purple hedgehog, with bright brown eyes. Her quills were dyed a dark shade of magenta, while her fur was a light violet. She was wearing a white blouse with smart, black trousers. Her shoes were also black, and a few small studs graced her pointed ears.

"Hi," Silver awkwardly smiled, "We need some help. We're looking for—"

At that moment, Sonic yawned and let out a cute giggle. The sales assistant noticed this, and her mouth curved into a huge smile.

"Ohmygosh! He's soooo adorable!" She bent down to Sonic's level and tickled him under the chin. Silver glanced over at Shadow, with an eyebrow quirked in confusion. Shadow rolled his eyes back at him, frustrated by the whole affair.

"Who's a little cutie? You are! Yes, you are! Who is just the cutest little thing? Aww! Storm, quick! You have to see this little guy!" The purple hedgehog paused in cooing over Sonic, frantically gesturing at her nearby co-worker. A black can ran over, blue eyes widening.

"Oh! He is cute!" The cat — who must have gone by the name of Storm — looked up at Shadow and Silver, "You two are so lucky to have such an adorable child!"

Silver's eyes widened, "Oh, no, he's not our child."

An older rabbit came over and stood close to Shadow, pushing her square glasses further onto her face, "Don't be shy. There's no need to feel self-conscious. Two fathers is nothing new. Is he adopted?"

Shadow glared at her, "Silver and I are not his parents."

"I see, dear," She leaned forward, lowering her voice, "Are you two boys not married?"

The black cat, Storm, raised her eyebrows at the purple hedgehog, "Such a shame. I thought they were both pretty tasty. Just my luck."

The shop workers ruffled Sonic's head, as Shadow and Silver stared open-mouthed at each other.

"Look! We just want nappies. That's all!" Shadow snapped, wearing a dark glare when the whole shop proceeded to stare at him.

"They're over there, Sir. I would recommend the ones in the green box," The purple hedgehog muttered, now nervously backing away. After Shadow's outburst, the rest of them scattered pretty quickly, too.

Silver frowned, "Nice going, Shadow." One-handed, he lifted the green cardboard box out of the shelf and handed it to the Ultimate Life Form. Tucking the box under his right arm, Shadow scowled.

"I couldn't let them continue with their line of thought," Shadow grabbed a baby carrier from the side, "Do we have everything? I can get Rouge to buy baby food."

Silver nodded, lifting Sonic higher onto his hip, holding him under his armpits. Shadow lugged the basket a few steps forward, heading to the tills, until Silver frantically tugged on his wrist, "Wait! There's something we forgot!"

"I hate you."

"It's easier than carrying him, Shadow," Silver tried to convince him, as he finally clicked the last strap of the papoose onto Shadow's body. Unfortunately for the ebony hedgehog, the only available colour was pastel pink. Though Sonic seemed to like it.

"Aw, look. He likes being strapped to you," Silver was right: Sonic started to giggle and clap. Shadow was still scowling.

"I don't care. I'm not wearing this damn thing. I look like a fool," Shadow glared down at the papoose, before heavily sighing, "Tails needs to hurry with finding the Doctor. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take."

Silver glanced at the clock on the wall, in Shadow's apartment, "It's only been three hours."

Shadow sighed.

"Hey, Shaddie! I've got the milk and baby food. Why do you need it, anyway? It's not like you've got a—!" Rouge sauntered into the living room. Her eyes nearly popped out, when she caught sight of Shadow.

"Rouge!" Silver called, cheerily. The Ultimate Life Form sighed again, wishing that he had never given Rouge a copy of his door-key. It was in moments like these that he remembered how much he valued his privacy.

The ivory bat looked like she didn't know if she wanted to faint or cry with laughter, "S-Shadow. Are you wearing a papoose?"
