"Thistlepaw!" a voice cried. "Wake up!!" The sun shone in Thistlepaw's eyes, the fresh smell of green-leaf made her feel happy. She blinked her eyes open to see that it was Whitecloud calling her. "Coming!" She replied happily. I wonder what we're doing today.. Hopefully hunting in pairs! Thistlepaw thought while she was walking to her mentor. As she walked towards Whitecloud, a blur of gray fur flashed beneath her eyes.

"Quickpaw!" She cried. Thistlepaw chased after him. Her paws getting tired every next step she took. "Wait. Huff. For. Huff. Me!" The blur of gray fur became a gray tabby tom. "How are you so fast?" Thistlepaw asked.

"I'm a natural." He replied with a wink. "By the way, Whitecloud says to meet at the training clearing. For our assessment."

Thistlepaw nodded, and started to walk away, but noticed Quickpaw wasn't following her. "Come on Quickpaw!"

Quickpaw quickly caught up with Thistlepaw, when Lilypaw looked at them. "Quickpaw!" She meowed sweetly. "Why do you want to walk with her?"

Lilypaw's eyes filled with fake concern. "She's an outcast! She's not pretty enough!"

Quickpaw ducked his head in embarrassment, "You're right. Bye, Thistlepaw." He turned away and started to walk towards Lilypaw. The orange-white tabby smirked at Thistlepaw and continued to talk with Quickpaw.

Thistlepaw sighed. She walked towards the training clearing by herself to see Streampaw, Skyclaw and Whitecloud. Later came, Stormclaw, Quickpaw, Skyblaze and Lilypaw. "Where's Foxpaw?" Thistlepaw asked.

"He's in the medicine cat's den, his paw got stuck in a thorn bush." Quickpaw replied.

"Alright!l" the deputy's voice boomed. "We'll start hunting in pairs now. I will choose the pairs." He turned his head towards the apprentices and looked carefully.

"Hmm… Streampaw and Quickpaw! Lilypaw and Thistlepaw." He meowed. "Go on!"

Thistlepaw looked at the orange-white she-cat in disgust. Ugh, I'm with annoying little Lilypaw.. Who would even want to be with her!

"Thistlepaw! Come on! Let's go hunt near the trees." Lilypaw meowed in annoyance. Thistlepaw slowly walked with Lilypaw into the shady forest. I can't hunt with her. I'll loose focus! What if I fail the assessment?

"I'm hunting for a squirrel, you try for a blackbird." Lilypaw meowed. She whipped her tail at a tree.

Lilypaw quickly disappeared as she continued looking for squirrels. Thistlepaw sighed. She didn't want to hunt a blackbird. She wanted to catch a rabbit. Thistlepaw set off to find a rabbit.

Thistlepaw raced after the four-legged creature, using all her speed, she made it veer of towards a corner, she was about to finish it off with a bite but another cat already killed it. Thistlepaw looked up to see who it was, Bluelily, deputy of ThunderClan.

"What are you doing in ThunderClan territory!?" The blue-gray she-cat meowed.

Thistlepaw ducked her head in shame. "I'm sorry, Bluelily, I was trying to catch that for my assessment!" She meowed quietly, as she backed up to SkyClan territory.

"Watch where you're stepping next time, Thistlepaw, you don't want Blossomstar knowing you were here." Bluelily replied. "Here, take your rabbit. It was your catch anyways." Bluelily dropped the rabbit in front of Thistlepaw.

"I-i don't need it, you take it, you killed it." Thistlepaw mumbled. "I'll catch something else."

Bluelily frowned. "Alright, whatever you say, Thistlepaw." The blue-gray she-cat picked up her catch and walked away. "See you around!" She meowed in a muffled voice.

Thistlepaw walked back to the training clearing with only two mice. When she got there, all the apprentices had been there already. Streampaw caught a squirrel, Quickpaw caught a finch, Lilypaw caught a vole and a mouse.

"Thistlepaw!" Whitecloud meowed. "Where were you? You didn't come back with Lilypaw."

"I-

"I know! She purposely left me so I would fail my assessment!" Lilypaw meowed accusingly.

"No! I didn't!" Thistlepaw retorted. Her claws now unsheathed beneath the dirt.

"Sorry, Thistlepaw, but my apprentice would never lie. You failed your assessment. Everyone else passed!" Skyblaze meowed sternly.

"Ugh! Why does everyone love her!? She's such a stubborn little stuck up mouse-heart!" Thistlepaw hissed, as she started to walk back to the camp.

"What's wrong Thistlepaw?" her mother, Songlily asked.

"Skyblaze said I failed the assessment.." Thistlepaw replied. Songlily wrapped her tail around Thistlepaw.

"And, why is that?"

"Because Lilypaw lied again!" Thistlepaw cried.

Songlily gasped. "Not her again.. I told Lightdawn to scold Lilypaw but Lightdawn doesn't even care."

"What's happening?" An orange tom asked as he approached.

"Thistlepaw failed her assessment because of Lilypaw." Songlily answered. "Flameclaw, dear. Please tell Riverstar about this-"

"All cats old enough to catch prey gather round for an important announcement!" Riverstar yelled.

The other apprentices' eyes shone with excitement, and Lilypaw whispered something into Quickpaw's ear. "Thistlepaw failed!" She whispered gleefully.

"But that's not a good thing, is it?" Quickpaw replied with a hiss. "We all knew you were lying! I'm tired of listening to you and your mouse-brained comments. What's wrong with Thistlepaw anyways?" He flicked his tail and padded towards Streampaw.

"Thistlepaw! Come over here!" Streampaw cried. Thistlepaw walked to her sister head down. "Don't worry, I'll ask Riverstar if he could let me stay as an apprentice until you've passed!" She whispered.

"You don't have to." Thistlepaw whispered back.

"Alright SkyClan! As you know, today is a very important day! We have three apprentices, who have passed their assessments, thanks to their mentors,

Skyblaze, Skyclaw and Stormclaw!" Riverstar meowed happily.

"Skyblaze! Skyclaw! Stormclaw!" The Clan chanted.

"Settle down.. settle down.. Thank you. Now, first up, Lilypaw."

Lilypaw hopped happily, towards the SkyClan leader.

"Lilypaw, from this moment on you will be known as Lilybird. StarClan honours your bravery and generosity, and we welcome you as a true SkyClan warrior!" Riverstar yowled.

"Lilybird! Lilybird! Lilybird!"

"Quickpaw please come forwards." Riverstar continued.

Quickpaw walked to the SkyClan leader.

"Quickpaw, you've have had a hard apprenticeship, because of the death of your mother, Dappleheart." Riverstar meowed in grief. "You worked hard and stayed focus on your tasks, therefore, Quickpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Quickfoot, for your speed and loyalty. StarClan honours you for your kindness to other cats. We welcome you as a SkyClan warrior. Everyone! Here's Quickfoot!"

"Quickfoot!" Thistlepaw cried with happiness.

"That speech was a bit odd." Streampaw replied.

"Probably, because Quickfoot's his son and stuff." Lilybird interrupted. Lilybird walked towards Quickfoot and congratulated him. They twined tails, "Do you forgive me now?" Lilybird asked.

"Yes." Quickfoot meowed as he nuzzled Lilybird's soft fur.

"Wait, it's not over yet, we have one more to-be warrior. Streampaw?" Riverstar asked.

"Riverstar,I respect that you want me as a faithful warrior, but I would like to stay an apprentice until Foxpaw and Thistlepaw become a warrior. Foxpaw, is your son, I'm sure you would want me to stay.." Streampaw meowed.

"Of course, well, we shall honour Streampaw for her kindness." Riverstar muttered.

"Streampaw! Streampaw!" The Clan yowled.

"Thanks," Thistlepaw meowed.

"No problem, what are sisters for?" Streampaw replied.
