Wally glared at the happy couple on the other side of the mess hall. A scowl marred his usually happy face, as he fumed in his hatred of John Stewart.

That stupid, jerk-face Green Lantern had stolen his Aunt Shayera!

Wally wasn't sure what she saw in the guy, he didn't seem so great. If she wanted to date a Green Lantern, why not Uncle Hal? He was much cooler, in Wally's opinion, and the two had founded to League together!

But for some reason Aunt Shayera really liked the jerk John and thought he was hilarious if the loud laughter was anything to go by.

Wally decided that he hated John Stewart more than anything in the whole world. Maybe even more than he hated needles.

"Anyone sitting here, buddy?"

Wally looked up to see his Uncle Hal, holding a blue plastic food tray that held bad spaghetti and mildly good bread sticks.

"No," Wally said glumly, turning back to his tray which had ten cheeseburgers, two chocolate shakes, and, on an odd whim, cheesy mashed potatoes.

"Well geez, little buddy, what's got you so down?" Hal asked, sitting down next to him.

Wally sighed and pointed at the couple across the room, who were now kissing.

Hal nodded, and took a bite of his pasta, grimacing at the bland taste. "Feelin' left out?" He asked around the bad food.

Wally nodded again, and sighed, pushing mashed potatoes around. He didn't really feel like eating, anyway.

"You've just gotta give them time," Hal said. "I'm sure they'll come out of the 'Honeymoon Phase' at some point."

Wally still didn't say anything, feeling tears prick his eyes. Did Shayera not like him anymore?

Hal seemed to notice his distress because he quickly tried to change the subject. "Where's Flash? I'm sure you could go hang out with him."

"He went on a mission with Batman and Superman." Wally said softly.

Hal went silent for a while, trying to figure out a way to make the kid feel better. "...Do you want to go get ice cream? You like ice cream. We should go get ice cream."

Wally looked up at the Green Lantern, tears now flowing down his face. "Uncle Hal, does Aunt Shayera not like me anymore? Did-did I do something wrong?"

Hal cursed in his head. How was he supposed to deal with this?! Hal Jordan was not a man that could deal with the tears of children. Especially not if their names were Wally West and they were 10 year olds and called him 'Uncle' and were adorable has hell.

No siree, give him an interstellar space monster to vanquish, or a pissed off Carol Ferris, but not this.

He cursed softly under his breath, and rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "No, god no. Shayera doesn't hate you, she's just..." Hal trailed off. Fuck, how could he explain this?

Wally sniffled.

Hal stood abruptly, knocking his chair over, and startling a few heroes in the mess hall. But not Shayera or John, they just kept making out like they didn't have a care in the world.

...How were they breathing, again?

"We are getting ice cream!" Hal said loudly, sweeping the tiny redhead under his arm. "We are going to get the best dang ice cream ever, and you are going to like it!"

Wally squeaked in surprise, and Hal ignored the snickering Leaguers in the background.

Hal sprinted out of the cafeteria, towards the Zeta Tubes. He hiked Wally up higher, as the kid was slipping, and swiftly punched in the code for Coast City. His boardwalk had the best ice cream ever, there was a fair going on, and he could probably swing past Ferris Aircrafts to talk Carol into going with them.

The normal swirling, golden energy thrummed to life in the Zeta and he and Wally were swept away with the mechanized lady voice saying:
Green Lantern - 05 and Kid Flash - B03

The Zeta dropped them off at the hidden platform behind Ferris Aircrafts. Hal quickly deactivated his power ring, retracting his Green Lantern suit.

Wally had his civilian clothes on underneath his Kid Flash suit, (something that couldn't have been very comfortable) and quickly flashed out of view, only to return a second later with his bright yellow uniform in his arms.

"Uncle Hal, why're we here?" Wally asked, with a depressed sigh. Hal frowned, he was going to have a talk with Shayera, after this was all over.

"We're getting ice cream, kiddo." Hal said grandly, spreading his arms wide. "But first, we're dropping off that outfit in my locker, and asking your Aunt Carol if she wants to come with us."

Wally looked confused at this name-drop. "Who's Carol?" He asked.

"My girlfriend," Hal said nonchalantly.

Wally's jaw dropped. Uncle Hal had a girlfriend? "Whoa, really?" He exclaimed.

"Yeah, really."

Wally grinned, wide and happy, and Hal was damn sure that this day was going to be awesome, because a sad Wally was not a Wally he liked to see.

"I can't wait to meet her!"

Hal motioned Wally to follow him, and jogged over to the back entrance of the main building. Wally stayed next to him, not running off like Hal knew he usually did, because he had never been to Ferris Aircraft before.

They dropped Wally's obnoxiously bright uniform off in Hal's locker, next to Hal's Lantern Battery. ("Really, Uncle Hal?" "Shut up, kid.")

Then walked through the halls to Carol's office. Wally was looking around with wide, bright eyes at all the planes, hangars, and machinery.

"Oooh! Uncle Hal! Can I ride in that?" Wally asked excitedly, pointing at the flight simulator.

Hal smiled. "Maybe later, kid."

They finally arrived at Carol's office, and Hal threw open the doors with a cry of: "Honey, I'm home!"

Carol jumped in her seat, scattering a few papers. "Hal, what the he-" She cut herself off when she caught sight of Wally. "Who's that?"

"This is Wally," Hal said. "He's my nephew-" Wally grinned at Uncle Hal introducing him like that. "-And we're going to the fair. Wanna come with?'

"I have work Hal-"

"Oh come on, you work too hard! Come and have ice-cream and fawn over how adorable Wally is."

Carol looked at the little redhead. He was pretty adorable...

"...I still have a lot of work. The board-"

"-are a bunch of as- jerkwads," Hal barely saved himself from cussing in front of Wally. Barry would kill him. Shay would kill him. "You can deal with the paperwork later, just give it to one of your interns!"

Carol's lips twitched, and stood up from her chair. "That's not how it works, but fine. I'll go to the fair with you two." Carol barely stopped herself from laughing at seeing the wide smiles pass over the two boy's faces.

Wally gasped and ran up, at barely contained normal speed, to hug Carol around the legs. "Really? Awesome! This is gonna be so much fun!"

Carol awkwardly patted the ginger's head, a bit confused. She was pretty sure they had just met, so why was he hugging her?

She looked at her boyfriend for an explanation, but he just grinned. Carol sighed.

Today was going to be interesting, to say the least.

Woah! You thought this was ended? Me too!

But no. I am continuing and this is going to be totally awesome. This is turning into a series of interconnected one/two-shots and AUs. Why? Because I like AUs, that's why.

Also, I really want to do the Thanagarian Invasion. Ohh yes, that'll be fun.

Requests are appreciated, guys!

(PS, I hope I kept Hal IC, this is my first time writing him!)

Next Chapter: Wally, Carol, and Hal go to the Coat City Fair and there is funnel cake, teddy bears, and all around happiness.
