Today was a boring day. A REALLY boring day. And Foxy knew these kinds of days too well. After all, he experienced them quite often. He was wandering through the central hall aimlessly at that moment in time, feeling more bored than ever before.
"Ah, it's one of those days when you have nothing to do." Foxy groaned. "No one even seems to be around today. Where even IS everyone? Like, seriously. Freddy's missing today, for some reason." That was true. After the human fiasco yesterday, Freddy has disappeared extremely fast. As far as Foxy knew, only he knew about this. "And where is Puppet? He's gone too. And what about Ballora? Maybe she's in her room." Foxy decided.
Foxy headed down the central hall and peeked through the small windows in Ballora's door. Ballora wasn't inside.
"No, it doesn't look like she's in there." Foxy concluded. "That's new for Ballora. Usually, she spends all of her time in her room, dancing around onstage whenever SHE's bored." He said this as he paced through the central hall, when suddenly...
"Get me down from here!" Ballora called.
"Ballora?!" Foxy exclaimed, surprised to hear her voice. He went into the main room by the entrance, since he heard her in there. "Ballora, where are you?"
"Up here!" Ballora called again. Foxy looked upwards to see if she was there, but ended up gazing at nothing but the lights in the wooden ceiling.
"I'm looking up!" Foxy called back. "I don't see you, I only see lights!"
"No, no, over HERE!" Ballora exclaimed, a bit more anxiously this time.
"Over WHERE?" Foxy cried desperately. "You're not being specific!"
"THE BOUNCY HOUSE!" Ballora shouted, this time a bit angrily. Foxy came over into the bouncy house, an open room across from the stage. It was a stereotypical bouncy house, with a soft yellow floor, blue frame, and iron bars for walls, with red striped walls and yellow walls behind the bars.
"Where are you?" Foxy asked. "Again, I don't see you!"
"Up here!" Ballora gasped. Foxy stared up, and his eyes widened.
Ballora was stuck up in the bouncy house's iron bar rafters, her arms and legs tangled inside of them.
"Oh, THERE are you!" Foxy exclaimed. He used the bouncy floor to try and get up to her, but to no avail; he wasn't going high enough. 'I'm trying to bounce to you, but I can't get to you! How did this even happen?"
"I bounced really, really high.." Ballora explained. "And then I, uh, got stuck up here."
"That's not even possible!" Foxy replied. "These floors aren't bouncy enough to get anyone up THAT high!"
"Just get me down!" Ballora cried
"I'm trying!" Foxy exclaimed. "It's not as easy as you think it is!"
"Go grab one of the stools over there!" Ballora ordered, pointing through the bouncy house window at the stools in the dining area.
"Actually...I have a better idea." Foxy replied. "I'm gonna go get Puppet. He can probably figure this out better than I can." Foxy began to leave the bouncy house.
"NO, DON'T LEAVE ME!" Ballora cried desperately.
"I'll be right back!" Foxy assured Ballora. "You're gonna be okay by yourself! Maybe you'll even be able to wiggle out by the time I get back." Foxy left the bouncy house and went down the central hall towards Puppet's box.
"Oh, I don't think we're gonna be able to get her down..." Foxy moaned as he came towards Puppet's room. "This is gonna be really, really weird." He walked up to Puppet's box. "Hey Puppet, you in there? Knock knock!" He knocked on the box several times.
Puppet came up from inside his box and faced Foxy, smiling.
"Hey, Foxy!" Puppet greeted cheerfully.
"Hey!" Foxy greeted back, equally as cheerful. He climbed up on some crates right next to Puppet's box to get a better view of Puppet."So, we have a problem."
"Hold on, let me just get out for a sec." Puppet said. He climbed out of the box. Foxy climbed off of the crates. "What seems to be the problem, buddy?"
"So...I don't know how to say this, but Ballora is stuck." Foxy told him anxiously. Puppet's eyes widened.
"You're...joking, right?" Puppet asked, nervous. "This better not be a joke."
"Yeah...it's not." Foxy groaned as he told them this. "I don't know HOW she did it. I think she's...a little bigger than she expected to be?" Foxy led Puppet back down the hall as they walked back to check on Ballora's situation.
"Well, first off..." Puppet began. "Ballora is the WORST at jumping. And second off, I'm really busy right now, so this better not be a joke."
"Yeah, she jumped way too high in the bouncy house, and she got stuck." Foxy told him, feeling the situation get even more tense. "I don't even know why they have those...wire things up there." They came inside the bouncy house. Ballora, sure enough, was still stuck in the same place as before. Puppet gave a small gasp as he saw this. "See, look at this! Look at HER!" Foxy gestured up at her.
"Woah!" Puppet exclaimed, staring up at her.
"Took you long enough!" Ballora chastised them, scowling down at them.
"Well, SORRY!" Foxy yelled up at her. "He wanted an explanation! Probably a five-hour one, knowing him. And I don't even know why!"
"Look at that!" Puppet exclaimed again, still gaping at Ballora, who was currently attempting to wiggle out, grunting and groaning as she did.
"Ugh, this is so uncomfortable!" Ballora complained as she continued to wiggle.
"How'd you even get up there?" Puppet asked curiously.
"I was bouncing, you dummy!" Ballora replied, still angry.
"But you can't bounce!" Puppet insisted.
"This place is called a bouncy house for a reason!" Ballora told him.
"Yeah, I'm bouncing right now!" Foxy added, jumping up and down to make his point clear.
"Yeah, I know, but that's not what I meant!" Puppet told them, louder this time. "I'm saying you're not good at bouncing."
"Hey, what do you mean by that?!" Ballora exclaimed, furious.
"Exactly what I just told you!" Puppet said, frowning. "You're not good at bouncing!"
"I'm GREAT at bouncing. I have no idea what you're talking about." Ballora huffed, turning her head away from him. "I mean, I bounced so high that I got stuck up here. That's how good I am."
"She has a point..." Foxy mumbled, contemplating her words.
"Hmm. We can talk about this later." Puppet answered, dropping his frown. "So what do you think we should do, Foxy?"
"Hmm...maybe I can get on your shoulders." Foxy came up. He bounced over to Puppet and tried to do so, but his weight quickly caused Puppet to drop him. "Ouch! Okay, that didn't work. Try getting on my shoulders."
"Alright..." Puppet replied. He tried to, but slipped off quickly as if his hands had butter on them. "Nope, didn't work. Almost got it, though."
"Yeah, almost..." Foxy agreed.
"You guys are not HELPING!" Ballora groaned, annoyed at their lackluster efforts.
"Wait, I know." Foxy said. He walked out of the bouncy house into the dining room. "There's stools out here. We should try some of these stools." He took one stool from a table and went back inside the bouncy house.
"You're getting stools? Really?" Ballora whined, umimpressed.
"Well, what did you EXPECT us to do?" Foxy yelled back. He placed the stool down underneath Ballora. "Okay, let's try this." He placed down the stool and stood up on it, but was not high enough to reach Ballora. "I'm on the stool, but this isn't high enough. Time to jump!" He jumped on the stool, reaching for Ballora's legs. "I almost got her..." But the stool wasn't very sturdy. It tipped over, causing Foxy to try and fall on his butt. "Well, I can't do it. Puppet, you try. You're a little bit taller than me, I think."
Puppet stood up on the stool and began jumping as well. He was much lighter than Foxy and did not cause the stool to tip, but even then his jumping was making no less progress than Foxy's attempt.
"Oh, ALMOST!" Puppet exclaimed as he hurriedly reached for Ballora, but did not get close.
"Get me DOWN!" Ballora commanded of them.
"I can't do it, I can't do it." Puppet gasped, giving up his attempt and jumping off of the stool.
"We might need a second stool." Foxy added. He ran back to the main room and came back with another stool.
"We should just put the stools back." Puppet commented. "I don't think two stools would make it. Neither it nor the bouncy house ground is sturdy enough."
Foxy attempted to put another stool on top of the stool, but the stools quickly toppled when he did this.
"Ah, it won't work." Foxy said. "They don't wanna stack on top of each other. However..." He put the second stool next to the first one. He gasped in realization. "Two stools! Let's try that! I'll go on one, and you can go on the other, Puppet."
"Okay." Puppet replied. They both got on a stool.
"Okay, ready?" Foxy asked Puppet. Puppet nodded. They prepared themselves to jump. "1...2...3...JUMP!" Foxy jumped and immediately fell off of his stool again. Puppet jumped and did not topple, but still couldn't reach Ballora. "Oh, I fell off again!" Puppet let out a small laugh at the sight of Foxy's disappointment.
"YOU GUYS ARE ACTING LIKE A BUNCH OF BUFFONS!" Ballora's anger was way past the boiling point at this point. She was clearly upset that neither of them had been able to get her down.
"Should we just leave her up there?" Foxy questioned Puppet, completely ignoring Ballora. Ballora grew even more annoyed at this.
"You better not leave me up here." Ballora threatened, glaring down at them.
"Yes, but before we do, I think we should try...one last thing." Puppet answered.
"Okay, you have a plan?" Foxy asked him as he picked up the stools.
"Yeah." Puppet said, nodding. "I believe that there's something in the kitchen that will help us get her down." Foxy walked back to the dining area and replaced the stools, putting them back in their original positions. Puppet followed him and watched him do so.
"The kitchen?" Ballora called from the bouncy house, confused at the idea of something that could help being in the kitchen, of all places.
"Yeah, stay right there." Foxy instructed Ballora. "You'll be okay."
"Yeah, just stay right there." Puppet commented. He and Foxy began to cross the main room towards the kitchen.
"Make me a sandwich while you're there!" Ballora called after them.
"Um, I think that's the LAST of your worries right now!" Foxy told her as he and Puppet approached the kitchen door.
"I'm hungry." Ballora informed them from the bouncy house.
"You can wait!" Foxy called back, putting his hands by his mouth so Ballora could hear him (he was noticeably far away from her at that point).
Foxy pulled open the door, and he entered the kitchen, Puppet following behind him.
"Okay okay, let's look around." Foxy said. They began to inspect the kitchen. "Umm..."
"We can throw some of these spoons at her!" Puppet suggested, gesturing at the spoon rack he was standing near.
"Oh, yeah!" Foxy agreed. "Or even better: one of these forks or knives." He pointed at the fork and knife racks. "That would be even better, yeah!"
Puppet nodded, and stared at the oven. He gasped in excitement.
"We can throw the oven at her!" Puppet suggested, showing interest in the idea of doing it.
"Perfect!" Foxy stated, smiling in anticipation. "That will work amazingly! Ah, I can see it working!"
Puppet went over to the oven and tried to pick it up. He grunted before quickly putting it down.
"That's heavy!" He gasped. "We should look for something to drag the oven over there!"
"Okay, yeah." Foxy replied, nodding. Foxy opened a nearby cupboard and gasped.
The drawers of the cupboard revealed a large number of snowballs, who looked as if they had been recently taken out of the freezer and stuffed into the small drawer forcefully.
"These snowballs...are gonna work AMAZINGLY!" Foxy exclaimed, becoming even more excited as he gazed down at the snowballs.
"Yeah, man!" Puppet added. "Seems like we don't have to use the oven after all."
They began to walk out of the kitchen and back towards the bouncy house.
"Yeah, you're right." Foxy agreed. "But it still would have been awesome using the stove, because it would have worked really well. It would have made a big hole!"
"And we could have cooked INSIDE the bounce house!" Puppet commented.
"Oh, yeah! We should still use that idea." Foxy replied. "Using the stove and throwing it at her just to be able to cook in here would be a great idea."
"Wait, a STOVE?" Ballora yelled, raising an eyebrow questioningly. They had arrived at the bouncy house (Ballora was still trapped).
"You want pancakes, Ballora?" Puppet asked Ballora, ignoring her previous statement. He held the snowballs behind his back so Ballora wouldn't see him holding them. Foxy did the same.
"Um, yeah. I'm actually quite hungry." Ballora informed them. "I've been up here for a long time now."
"How long have you been up there for?!" Foxy said, surprised to hear this.
"Umm..." Ballora thought about his question for a moment. "A couple of hours?"
"Why didn't you call for us earlier? I've been in the other room the whole entire time!" Foxy exclaimed, scowling.
"I was very tired..." Ballora started. "And I fell asleep up here."
"Ooooh..." Foxy replied, nodding in understanding. He looked at Puppet, then back at Ballora. "Well..."
"Wait, what do you have hidden behind your backs?" Ballora questioned them, gazing at them suspiciously. "Are those the...pancakes?"
"Um...you can call them that..." Foxy mumbled, shifting nervously.
"Yep, they are! Open wide!" Puppet commanded her, smiling widely.
"Wha-" Ballora began, but was cut off. Foxy and Puppet revealed the snowballs and began to throw them at Ballora. "Ow! OW! AH! STOP IT! OW!"
"Is it working?!" Foxy asked Puppet as they kept doing this. Puppet didn't reply.
Meanwhile, the snowballs were hitting the bars, making them slippery. Ballora began to slide out...
"AAAARGH!" Ballora screamed as she tumbled out of the rafters and flopped onto the ground.
"It worked!" Foxy cried, waving his hands in victory. "Yay! We're geniuses!" He jumped up and down. Puppet did the same. They both grinned in happiness.
"Waaaah?" Ballora whined, confused. "You guys are crazy! Well, I'm crazy too..." She looked down at her feet briefly, then looked back up. "But you guys are CRAZIER!"
Foxy wasn't listening. "Yay, we got her down!" He and Puppet were still bouncing in celebration. "High-five, Puppet!" He and Puppet tried to high-five, but missed and punched each other in the face instead. They stumbled backwards. "Ow, that hurt. You hit me in the face."
"Oh, I'm sorry." Puppet apologized, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.
"It's okay." Foxy replied, smiling.
"Ha ha!" Ballora laughed, grinning at the situation. She started bouncing too.
"Don't laugh at me!" Foxy told her, frowning in annoyance. "Eh, whatever." He and Puppet began to bounce again. Foxy sighed in relaxation. "Ballora, don't bounce too high anymore. You might get stuck again.
"Naah, I won't get stuck again." Ballora assured him, brimming with confidence. 'This time I'm prepared."
"Prepared..." Foxy mumbled, contemplating this. "Yeah, that's not the first time I've heard you say that before."
"Umm...I don't know what you're talking about." Ballora turned away from him, unwilling to listen.
"I assure you, I know what I'm talking about." He replied, folding his arms and nodding.
"Now, where are those pancakes?" Ballora walked out of the bouncy house and began to look around. Foxy and Puppet followed her.
"Umm, you want pancakes now?" Foxy asked her, confused.
"Well, you guys asked if I wanted pancakes, and I said I wanted pancakes." Ballora replied.
"It takes time to make pancakes." Puppet informed her.
"But we do have snowballs." Foxy added, holding his snowballs up. He still had about half of his snowballs left. "You can have those."
"I don't want you too-" Ballora began, but Foxy and Puppet threw a few more at here. "Ow, ow! Stop it! I'm going back to my room! You guys are being bullies!" She ran down the hall back towards her room.
"Ballora, come baack!" Foxy taunted her playfully. He and Puppet ran after her. They chased her back into her room and continued to throw snowballs at her. Ballora hid behind her pedestal, trying to use it as cover. "Are you okay, Ballora?" He grinned mischievously. Puppet waved the snowballs in the air, smiling.
"I'm gonna get you guys back..." Ballora threatened them, scowling angrily.
"Oh, and how are you gonna stop us?" Foxy asked her playfully, wiggling his eyebrows.
"I'm gonna actually...THROW THEM BACK AT YOU!" Ballora pulled out her own pile of snowballs.
"Woah!" Foxy gasped, stepping back in surprise. "Where did you get snowballs?!"
"Woah!" Puppet mimicked. Ballora began to throw the snowballs at them. Foxy and Puppet quickly ran away.
"Hah hah hah!" Ballora laughed. "You guys are dummies!"
"That's not fair!" Puppet yelled at her. "That's cheating!" He and Foxy ran out of her room down the hall. Ballora quickly gave pursuit.
"Yeah, you BETTER run!" Ballora told them, running after them.
"Wait, into the boys restroom!" Puppet exclaimed, gesturing towards the nearby bathroom. "She can't go in there!"
"Oh yeah, right!" Foxy responded. He and Puppet ran into the restroom, dodging Ballora's snowballs.
"Huff...puff..." Foxy mumbled, catching his breath. "Whew! Good thinking, Puppet." Puppet smiled.
"Guys..." Ballora said outside of the restroom.
"No, we're not coming out!" Foxy shouted back at her before she could say anything else. Ballora threw a few more snowballs in there, but Foxy and Puppet were untouchable behind the bathroom wall.
"Well then, I guess I'm gonna be LEAVING!" Ballora moaned, and stopped talking.
"Well, she's leaving. We can go now." Foxy told Puppet.
"Alright." Puppet replied. But they stopped out from behind the wall, and Ballora threw even more snowballs from the bathroom entryway.
"Ah-HA!" She cried, anxious.
"Oh, no no no!" Foxy gasped in surprise. He and Puppet quickly went back behind the wall. "She lied!"
"She lied to us!" Puppet added.
"Ugh, this is boring anyways! Boys are stupid!" Ballora whined. "I'm just gonna go back to my room now." Foxy and Puppet could hear her footsteps. After a second, she was gone.
"Did she leave?" Foxy asked Puppet.
"I'll go check." Puppet replied. He peeked out of the bathroom doorway and looked both ways. "Look to the left...look to the right...alright, she seems to be gone!"
Foxy came out and saw that Puppet was right: Ballora has disappeared back to her room. "Oh, awesome!" He said. "So I guess we solved the problem for the night. That makes a lot of sense." The two of them walked back into Puppet's room.
"I guess I can back to my very-very-important-business-that-I-will-not-disclose-to-you." Puppet said quickly. "Because it's top secret."
"Wait, what? What are you doing in there?" Foxy asked, pointing at Puppet's box. "And why are there so many other boxes around your box at all times?" He added, pointing at the stacks of crates next to Puppet's box. "Are you planning something?"
"Well, it's nothing special. I just like boxes and have a lot of things." Puppet responded as he climbed back into his box.
"Okay..." Foxy mumbled, unsure of what to think. "You're a really well-prepared puppet, I guess."
"I am, I am." Puppet nodded in response. "I enjoy the simple things in life, y'know. Like, having fun with friends, but also taking stuff seriously, y'know...that kind of stuff."
"O-okay..." Foxy replied, nodding nervously. "Have a good night, Puppet." He waved at Puppet as he left the room. "See you later."
"You too, Foxy!" Puppet said, waving back. He retreated back into his box. Foxy walked back down the hall.
"Oh, man. This was very weird night." Foxy reflected, thinking back to the night's events. "Man, Ballora really has to watch out when she jumps around." He gazed over at the bouncy house as he passed by it on his way to his cove. "Cause, y'know...the bouncy house might really be a dangerous room. Oh, well." He walked up to his cove. "I guess I'm just gonna go in here and take a nap." He drew open his curtains and stepped inside. "This is almost like...the good old days." He drew closed his curtains, leaving himself in darkness. "Ahh...naptime..."
He stood in the corner, looked down, deactivated himself, and went to sleep...
