We laugh together,
We learn together,
We spend all our time together.
Still, you don't look at me,
The way I look at you.
I just want you,
To fall,
For me,
To love me,
To caress me,
And tell me things.
Like
"I can't take my eyes off of you",
(I would tell you these things too),
And we would be,
Perfect.

And then I can't believe it.
You are staring at me.
Glistening eyes,
Blue and grey and silver,
And there are tears on your face.
Wet and shimmering and heart-breaking.
And you say,
"She doesn't love me".
And I try and comfort you,
(But I knew it all along),
Because no-one can love you,
Quite as much as I do.
But you can tell,
You see something in me too,
And you speak,
Without a thought,
And ask,
"Will you go out with me?"

It was magical.
Our skin touching, hand on hand.
Laughter, kisses, frolicking in the sand.
Grains in my hair,
Grains between my toes,
I take your hand,
And you bump my nose.
It's perfection,
Real and true,
And I know it,
And you know it.
There's something there,
And it's beautiful.
