CHAPTER 2
A Mysterious Woman
"Prepare yourself, Anakin." Obi-Wan warned him as dozens of other titans began to surround them.
"Oh, great!" Anakin said as he and Obi-Wan stood back-to-back again, facing the titans with no fear. They weren't scared of them at all. They've both dealt beasts much more larger than these things.
"I think they're aren't too happy of our presence." Obi-Wan said.
The ground began to shake. Anakin and Obi-Wan raised their lightsabers, ready to face the dozens of titans.
"We'll take them together." Obi-Wan said.
"I was about to say that."
The two of them sprinted forward in different directions to face the multitude of titans.
ANAKIN SWUNG WITH ALL HIS MIGHT, the lightsaber burned and cut through the head of a titan, decapitating it. He finished it off with one swift strike to the nape. Two more titans approached Anakin's field of view; a twelve meter titan, bulky in size, and a short three meter titan. He intended to take them down with no mercy.
Anakin smirked, "Come at me!"
Anakin charged towards the twelve meter titan. He leaped on to one of the arms and ran his lightsaber though the flesh, leaving a trail of burnt skin as he charged toward the head. The titan attempted to end his advance with one quick chomp, but Anakin counteracted quickly. He flipped to the back of the titan's head and hung on to its hair like a fishhook catching fish. In a horizontal maneuver, he slashed the nape, taking the titan down.
Anakin diverted his attention to the smaller titan. They stood face to face. Anakin eye-balled the titan as they made eye contact with each other. Anakin patiently waited for it to strike first. The smaller titan swung both of its hands at him in a clapping manner, attempting to trap him. The two large hands were suddenly halted by Anakin. His lightsaber held by his right hand stabbed through the titan's left hand, while Anakin's left hand, with all of his strength, pushed against the titan's right hand. The struggle continued on; a mere few seconds felt like an eternity. Anakin noted the incredible size difference between his hand and the titan's hand. The titan's hand dwarfed Anakin's by leagues.
Anakin menacingly stared down the titan. His arm muscles began to grow weary; his arms began to shake nonstop as the incredible force worked against his. Anakin clenched his teeth in pain. Numerous titans began to surround Anakin. He knew he couldn't stay like this.
Anakin used all of his remaining strength to push back the gigantic hands, and with one single push, he was able to keep the titan's hands away back to the side of its body. Anakin used this opportunity to slice the titan in half. As it collapsed on the ground, Anakin struck it on it's nape.
"Oh, look. More fans." Anakin said to himself as multitudes of titans began to surround him, "here's my autograph!"
Obi-Wan stood heroically on the titan's nape. His eyes wandered around the bottom of the head, and the top of neck.
"I am sincerely sorry for this." Obi-Wan said as he swung his lightsaber at the the titan's nape, killing it, "but you unfortunately provoked me and my friend."
Obi-Wan strolled off the large body and searched for Anakin to see what he was up to. When he finally spotted him, it was no surprise to see that he was slaying the multitudes of titans with such unnatural power, strength, speed, and agility. Obi-Wan was pleased to see he had taught him quite well. He even considered the fact that Anakin's feats were far more superior than his own.
He scanned the field and noticed how many titans he and Anakin slayed. It was littered with lifeless titans; he estimated that he and Anakin's efforts took down more than fifty of them. Steam arose out from the freshly killed ones, other bodies devolved into humongous skeletons. Obi-Wan pondered on why these titans seemed similar to humans - humans like he and Anakin, but with titanic differences. He was puzzled on why these titans were nude, but what puzzled him even more is that the fact that these titans didn't have any explicit reproductive organs, unless they reproduced in some other uncanny way. The thought of this unsettled him.
If they do have the ability to reproduce, then where are all the females?
Obi-Wan's train of thought was interrupted when giant footsteps shook the ground he stood on. He turned around and gazed upon a large and duanting titan that stood before him. He raised his lightsaber in a defensive stature. Obi-Wan and the titan exchanged looks. The titan suddenly motioned it's large foot back and forth in a swinging manner. Suddenly, the foot kicked the ground and sent an enormous wave of dirt, grass, and rock toward Obi-Wan's way.
Obi-Wan gasped and squeezed his eyes shut. He raised his arms and lightsaber in an attempt to shield himself from the oncoming debris. He was sent flying back and yelped in pain. The titan continued to send flying debris into his direction. Obi-Wan recovered himself and pushed back against the enormous wave of debris. He began to spin his lightsaber as fast as the blades of a helicopter. He then used the stuck his hand out and used the force to send the debris back onto the titan's face, giving it a taste of its own medicine.
Obi-Wan steadily walked forward while continuing to use the force to send the flying debris back. The amount of debris that flew back into the titan's face was enough to stun it. The wave of debris suddenly ceased. Obi-Wan's vision finally cleared. He sprinted forward towards the titan and leaped onto its shoulder. He then ran his his lightsaber across its collarbone and then jumped on and hung on to it's long hair. He used it as a rope and directed it towards its nape. He then sliced the nape with precision. He let go of the strand of hair he used as a rope and landed on the ground.
Anakin and Obi-Wan took down the remaining titans with ease. Their little skirmish only lasted for about an hour. Both Anakin and Obi-Wan retracted their lightsabers and hinged it to their side as they approached each other.
"Wow, what happened to you?" Anakin asked while looking at Obi-Wan's debris-ridden attire.
"It's a new look my new friend gave me."
Anakin shot Obi-Wan a smile. "How many?" he asked.
"21." Obi-Wan replied.
Anakin smirked. "30, I win. You owe me something."
"I wasn't aware we were betting."
"Now we are."
Obi-Wan sighed as he followed Anakin away from the field that they skirmished the titans in. They were both left unscratched.
A TALE of TWO KNIGHTS
Time passed by. It was now afternoon. The sun began to drag itself away from the sky. Anakin and Obi-Wan continued in their trek in their search for civilization.
"Those things we fought earlier," Anakin engaged in a conversation, "what do you think they are?"
"Giants, obviously." Obi-Wan replied.
Anakin kicked a small rock out of his way. "Yeah, I know that, but don't you find it weird that they look exactly like humans? Just really over sized."
"My thoughts precisely. They are also completely nude and have no visible reproductive organs." Obi-Wan said.
Anakin added, "They look like males too."
"The majority of them have disproportionate bodies as well." Obi-Wan incorporated.
Anakin and Obi-Wan gave their two cents concerning the mysterious "giants" they had fought earlier. More questions arose with very few answers.
A TALE of TWO KNIGHTS
As they journeyed, the two Jedi stumbled upon a small village. They stood at the entrance, curious to see what this village had in store for them.
"What do you make of this?" Anakin asked
"Looks like a small farming village."
"Maybe they have a ship we can borrow." Anakin replied.
The two Jedi entered the village and explored it. They entered abandoned homes, petted the livestock and horses, explored the crops. They discovered that it was the harvest for these people.
"Have you found anyone, Anakin?" Obi-Wan called out from a distance.
Anakin jumped off a roof of a small, wooden house. "No, looks like this place was completely abandoned." he called back.
"Have you discovered a ship we can borrow?"
"I wish." Anakin looked at the sky and noticed that the sun had began to set.
"The sun is setting. I think we should make camp here until dawn."
"Good idea, Anakin."
A TALE of TWO KNIGHTS
Anakin and Obi-Wan rested inside a small bedroom in one of the wooden houses. They both sat down on the wooden flooring and lit a small lantern to light up a small portion of the room.
"Do you think the villagers fled this village because of those giants?" Anakin asked.
"Likely. Recent too by the look of the crops." Obi-Wan answered.
Anakin found a small doll made out of cotton beside him. He grabbed and inspected it. It had black, googly eyes, and a white colored smile that was drawn with a writing utensil. It disheartened Anakin to find out that a few of the villagers were small children.
"Where do you think they escaped to?" Anakin asked.
"I assume they fled to a nearby village not too far from here." Obi-Wan said
"But we didn't see any other villages upon our way here."
"That is true. Their horses were also kept in the stable, there's no possible way to outrun those giants without horses." Obi-Wan explained.
Anakin and Obi-Wan paused as they continued to ponder about the villager's fate. Then it finally came to Anakin's realization.
"You don't suppose that the villagers were eaten by those giants, do you?" Anakin told his Master.
"We could assume that is fact; it would be very unfortunate if they were, but we should also assume that the villagers hid in their houses." Obi-Wan replied.
"The village is completely empty, and if they did hide in their houses, we probably would've found dozens of them by now. After all, these houses were left unscathed. You'd think that those giants would've broken them down."
"I suppose you're correct." Obi-Wan agreed.
Anakin grinned as he couldn't get over the fact that he was able to be more insightful than the Negotiator himself.
"Well this planet keeps on getting better by the second." Anakin said as he took out a pack of rations and a large flask filled with water. He ripped open the covering of the pack of rations. He devoured all of it until he realized he finished the whole thing. He then gulped down the water like his life depended on it.
"You're not going to finish the whole thing are you?"
Anakin ignored his Master and continued to gulp down the flask of water until there was barely any left. He wasn't worried, as there were three flasks left in his backpack. He tossed the empty flask to the side and wiped his mouth with his arm.
"Anakin..."
A sudden ruckus was heard in the room next door. Startled, Anakin and Obi-Wan turned to the direction of the sound. The ruckus continued on for a few seconds until it finally stopped. Complete silence fell as Anakin and Obi-Wan's ears listened for even the slightest sound. They both stood up and exchanged glances.
"You heard that, right?" Obi-Wan whispered.
The ruckus was heard a second time. It's as if someone was crammed somewhere in a confined space.
"There it is again." Obi-Wan whispered as he pointed his ears towards the noise.
"It came from the room next door." Anakin whispered back.
"You go first." Obi-Wan gestured Anakin to the door.
"Wait, why me?" Anakin questioned.
"You always seem to volunteer." Obi-Wan replied.
"Fine, I'll check it out." Anakin grabbed the lantern beside him and opened the door to the hallway. He walked through the hallway and opened another door to the room where he and Obi-Wan heard the mysterious noise from. Obi-Wan followed him through the hallway.
Anakin motioned the lantern forward as he entered the room. The lantern only lit a small portion of the room, as usual. He inspected the room for anything suspicious or out of place.
"This is where all that noise came from." Anakin said as he stared at a bookshelf filled with books. He grabbed a book out of the bookshelf and shined the lantern's light towards the cover. He read but couldn't understand the writing.
"Have you found anything?" Obi-Wan asked as he entered the room.
"Just some literature, that's all." Anakin said as he inspected more books.
In an instant, Obi-Wan's head was bashed as he suddenly collapsed to the floor writhing in pain, his hands covering the the back of his head where he was hit.
Anakin suddenly dropped the book and turned around. He shined the lantern forward to where Obi-Wan had collapsed. His pupils had widened when he suddenly saw a girl in her teenage years holding a long, thick wooden stick. She raised the wooden stick and assaulted Anakin.
"This is for my family!" she screamed.
The girl was a few feet away from him, readying her blow on Anakin. Anakin acted on impulse. He dropped the lantern, unholstered his lightsaber, and ignited it. Targeting Anakin's head, the girl swung the stick down; Anakin's lightsaber met her wooden stick. In a split second, the lightsaber cut the wooden stick in half.
The girl stared at Anakin in complete shock as her weapon was suddenly rendered useless. Her shock was suddenly replaced by fear when Anakin grabbed her by the neck and began to choke her. She began to gag and gasp for air as Anakin tightened his grip on her neck. She grabbed ahold of Anakin's arm, but it was no use. She was entrapped by his incredible grip.
"Wrong choice, little girl!" Anakin barked at her.
She was brought to her knees. Anakin brought his lightsaber to her neck.
"Please, Mister... stop... I'm... sorry..." she pleaded to Anakin to release her.
"Who are you?" Anakin interrogated her.
"Elena... Kimler... 15..." she gave away her name and age.
"Why did you attack my friend?" he continued.
"I thought... you... were bandits." she struggled for as much air as she could get.
Obi-Wan groaned as he stoop up and recovered from his head being bashed. He saw Anakin choking and interrogating a girl, and he saw that Anakin's lightsaber was right at her neck. He speculated that she was the one who knocked him out.
"Let her go, Anakin." Obi-Wan ordered, "let her go."
Anakin tightened his choke on her until it was impossible for her to even breathe the slightest of any air before throwing her to the wooden flooring. She laid there coughing, rubbing her neck, and gasping for air. Anakin retracted his lightsaber, holstered it to his side, and grabbed the lantern he had dropped earlier.
"Anakin, was that really necessary?
"She attacked you, Master. She tried to attack me too." Anakin justified his actions.
Seeing the girl on the floor, Obi-Wan approached the girl. Anakin had began to regret choking her. Obi-Wan patted her back and comforted her.
"Are you alright?" Obi-Wan asked the girl as she stopped coughing and began to breath steadily. "Sorry about my friend's rather rash behavior."
Obi-Wan glanced up at Anakin and gave him the look.
"Look, I'm truly sorry - Elena, wasn't it?" Anakin apologized for his actions. He noticed the girl was only a few years younger than he was.
The girl went on her knees and glanced at Anakin and Obi-Wan.
"I'm sorry too." the girl replied.p
Seeing this, Obi-Wan smiled at Anakin. Anakin returned the smile.
"Well, I think it's time we introduce ourselves." Obi-Wan said, "I'm Obi-Wan Kenobi and this is Anakin Skywalker."
The young girl glanced at the hand Anakin used to choke her. "That's a strong grip you got there."
"Um, thank you?"
The two Jedi observed her as Anakin shined the lamp on her. She had a golden beige skin tone; brown, wavy hair that reached to her shoulders; hazel colored eyes; a very attractive face; a light blue, long-sleeved buttoned shirt with a brown skirt that reached a few inches above her ankles; and a considerably fit body for a woman of her age. The young girl reminded Anakin of his former Padawan, Ahsoka Tano.
"I'm Elena Kimler, and you're in my house." she introduced herself.
"Well then, Elena Kimler, we apologize for entering your house without permission. We've been traveling for a day or so and needed a place to stay for the night and happened to stumble upon your house."
Elena Kimler stood up and shook hands with Obi-Wan and Anakin. It's like they had forgotten the scuffle that happened earlier. She was four inches shorter than Obi-Wan was. Anakin simply towered over her.
"Thank you for saving me." she said to the both of them.
Saving me? Anakin wondered.
"You're very welcome." Anakin replied, smiling at her.
She eyed the strange weapon that Anakin had holstered to his side, but she chose not to ask about it.
"I must say, you're quite the brave one. Having the will to stand up to supposed bandits to the point of attacking them requires a lot of courage." Obi-Wan complimented the young girl.
"Thank you, Mister."
"I'm sure you're quite hungry; we have some food in our backpack would you like some?" Obi-Wan asked.
"Sure."
They formed a circle and sat down. Anakin and Obi-Wan treated the young girl with a pack of rations and a flask of water. They exchanged corny jokes, laughed, and conversed with each other. She was confused on why strangers would help her and be this kind to her.
"We'll be leaving by dawn. You can come with us if you'd like to." Anakin said to her.
"I'd love to. I have to go anyways."
"Then we should get some rest before morning." Obi-Wan said as he and Anakin stood up.
"We'll be going to the room we stayed in. Will you be okay in here?" Anakin asked.
"Yeah, I'll be fine."
"You can keep the lantern if you'd like."
"Sure thing, thank you two again."
"No problem!" Anakin said as he shut the door behind him and went to their room.
Elena sighed and placed the lantern beside her. She went inside her sleeping bag and waited until she finally fell asleep.
Back in the two Jedi's room, Obi-Wan was laying down on the bed while Anakin sat on the floor. It was nearly dark in the room. The only light coming in was from the window.
"I can't believe I didn't sense her presence." Anakin said.
"Yes, indeed. I couldn't sense her as well." Obi-Wan replied.
"That's odd." Anakin said before shutting his eyes
Anakin and Obi-Wan both succumbed to their rest.
