It was nearing noon, and I was getting ready for the beach. Tossing shorts and an extra shirt in my bag, I threw it over onto my back and opened my door. Walking downstairs, I heard my mother.

"Where are you going?" She asked, noticing my bag of stuff.

"Some friends and I are going to the beach for a bit. I'll be back soon." I replied.

"Oh, have fun then." She walked back to the kitchen.

Opening the door, I headed out and to the beach. I made my way to our hangout, and upon arrival, I just sat and did my own things. Not long later, Eclipse and Shine arrived and we greeted. Picking my bag up, we headed to the beach, just chatting about stuff for the summer.

We soon arrived at the beach, and I set up my spot. Sitting down, I enjoyed the sun. Eclipse did his own thing, but Shine just sat in the sand. Looking at Shine, I sighed. I got up and sat next to her. She looked a bit surprised but didn't do anything.

"So… Wanna go swim or something? We are at the beach." I said.

"I… I don't really want to..." She spoke.

"Um, wanna do anything?" I asked.

"Not really. I just want to sit here." She replied.

"Alright. I'm gonna go check on Eclipse." I said, getting up.

I walked over to Eclipse, who was inspecting a surfboard.

"Plan on surfing? Thought you were more of an inventor." I told him.

"I like inventing things. But I also like outdoor stuff too." He replied.

"Good to know. Well… I wouldn't mind surfing a bit." I said back.

He nodded and moved aside, unblocking the surfboard rack. After picking one, Eclipse and I got ready. But before I did, I looked back at Shine, who was just drawing around in the sand.

"Should try and get her to join us or something." I told Eclipse.

"I try, but she doesn't really want to. Prefer to sit out and watch most of the times." He replied.

"Try harder then. Pretty sure she'll start being more interactive." I said.

"You can give it a shot. She did seem to take a liken to you, which is rare to see. I don't know… Maybe after this, you can take her someplace and enjoy yourselves." He said back.

"Might do that to be honest." I said.

He liked this and thanked me. After that, we started our activity. Don't really need to explain two hours of nothing, so lets just go to when we were leaving.

So after finishing up, and avoiding sunburn, we were packed up and ready to go. We walked a bit down the street when Eclipse stopped us.

"Hey, Shine. Lucas and I were talking, and we were wondering if you want to spend some time with him. I got some work to do, so might be a good time to just enjoy something." He said.

"Enjoy…? I suppose… What are we going to do?" Shine asked me.

"I don't know. There's a decent amount of things to do in Yuka during summer. I'm sure we'll find something." I replied.

"I guess it could be fun. So, um, sure." She replied back.

"See? I'm sure you'll have fun. Can't stay inside all day long, so have fun! I'm gonna head back to home and continue my project." He nodded.

After that, he walked off, leaving Shine by my side. Looking at her, I started thinking about what to do.

"So… Is there someplace you'd like to go or do?" I asked.

"Um, there's a place next to here that I'd like to visit..." She said back.

"Okay, lead the way." I replied.

She lead me just down the street till we arrived at a shop.

"A shop?" I asked.

"Yeah. I just want to get something." She replied softly.

I followed her in and she walked to the counter, where she was instantly noticed by the Pokemon behind it.

"Hey, Shine. Here for your pickup?"

"Yes..." Shine replied.

Shine was then given a box of something.

"Thank you." Shine said, then looked at me.

"Alright, we can go now." She told me.

We walked out again and stood outside the shop.

"What is that?" I asked.

"Nothing really important… Just something Eclipse ordered me. So, um, I know this sounds weird, but can we go to your place? This heat is frying me..." She said.

"Come over? Um, sure." I replied, a bit confused.

I then lead the way to my house. She and I talked about some random topics about summer, but she didn't really seem that interactive. Seems like she'd rather just stay indoor, since she doesn't like the heat. Kinda understandable, I don't like the heat either, but it beats freezing to death during winter. Anyways, we arrived at my place a few minutes later, and we entered.

"I'm home." I called out.

My mother was cleaning the living room and stared at me.

"A friend?" She asked.

"Yeah, this is Shine. We're just going to go up to my room till the heat dies down." I replied.

"Oh, okay. Hello, Shine, glad to see Lucas meeting friends recently." My mother smiled.

"Hi." Shine replied.

After that, I lead her up to my room. And after entering my room, she looked around.

"You're room is really clean… I like it..." She said.

"Hmm hmm. Messes really bother me. So, what do you want to do." I asked.

"Um…" She started looking around.

But before she could answer, she walked up to my dresser. I noticed she was staring at the 'lucky' stone I bought.

"Cool stone." She said.

"Got it for cheap. It's supposedly lucky." I replied.

She scanned over it, watching the colors change.

"That's pretty cool with the colors and stuff. Um, anyways… I'm not really sure what to do… What do you usually do?" She asked.

"Nothing much. Gaming mostly." I replied.

"I know. Not really good at them..." She said back.

"Oh, well… Maybe we can find something to do." I said.

"Um… What do you have around to do?" She asked.

"Decent amount of things. Follow me." I said.

I walked downstairs with her and began searching around the place. After wondering a bit, a knock at the door snapped me out of it. Mindlessly opening the door, Spark along with Leon were right there.

"What are you two doing here?" I looked at them.

They looked behind me and saw Shine, they seemed confused, but I explained that she's with me today. After that, they continued to their original plan.

"We are heading to a place today, and wanted to see if a third wanted to join us." Spark said.

Looking at Shine, I replied.

"If you want, we can go exploring." I told her.

She looked a bit hesitate, but replied.

"U- uh, sure."

Turning back to Spark, I spoke.

"Guess I'm going then. Where are we heading?" I asked.

"Someplace near midnight forest." He plainly replied.

I nodded at Shine, and grabbed my bag. I then walked out with Spark and Leon, and began walking to the destination. Honestly, some exploring could make Shine feel better, I bet. She did seem interested in some of this stuff...
