The man threw his knife on the floor. I spat blood in his face, savagely enjoying the look of disgust on his face. He spat back at me then turned to leave. I glared at his back, leaning down painfully to swipe the knife from the floor.

With much force as I could muster, I stabbed the man in his back, watching him arch in pain, turning his head to show me his hateful face.

I spat at him as he fell to the floor, limp. "Fuck you," I snarled at his dead body before leaving.

The Flock was sitting near the cave. They looked listless; even on a black-and-white screen I could see that. I winced at the pain sharp along my arm I straightened to peer at the screen intently. Suddenly Fang stood up, slamming his fist into the tree trunk. I bit my lip at the dark black patches of blood on his knuckles.

I leaned back into the comfy chair, confused. Didn't he make things clear that day?

"Max. The Flock doesn't need you anymore. I don't need you anymore. Just leave, would you? We've put up with you for far too long," his eyes burned with sincerity. But they were a stranger's eyes, begging me to leave.

I didn't care. Sure, I'd been expecting it – they'd been acting weird lately. But why on earth was Fang punching the tree? What the hell, boys were just simply unpredictable. "Are you done already?" Ari growled from behind me.

"Well, dogboy's getting worked up. Did Daddy call you to scrub my feet again – don't bother, someone else beat you to it."

Ari snarled in rage, but kept his distance, his fists clenched. I chuckled, scrutinising the screen for the Flock's familiar faces. My gaze flitted past Fang's, and my heart thumped a little faster as usual. I bit down hard on my lip, reminding myself of his words.

Ari coughed behind me, trying to sound polite. "Jeb's calling for you." My gaze narrowed, and I stood up to reach for the doorknob.

Ari snarled as I got to the door and I laughed bitterly. "Watch it, dog."

This wasn't me. I remembered Jeb's words: When there's nothing he can do, Fang retreats into himself. You change yourself so much nobody knows you.

A/N: Sorry I know that this is still really short, but at least it's longer than the last! Everyone who reviewed, much love! Smile(:
