Please make the happy assumption that Paul had a child too when he met Sally. I was going to go with Paul and Sally having a kid together but the child wouldn't be old enough for the plot.
On with the show!
Mark Blofis' POV
I hate Percy Jackson. Utterly and thoroughly, he is the most awful person ever, I thought, flopping down on my bed. He's got everything, looks, brains, strength, I muttered glumly, looking in the mirror across from my bed at my comparatively dumpy and short 5' 7" with my mop of brown hair and dull brown eyes. Percy's everyone's wonder child. The only good thing about this was Sally, the mom I'd never had. But of course, Percy this and that and everything. I sighed and sat back down on my bed with a cheap action book in my hands, lazily scanning the pages.
"I'm hoo-me!" A voice yelled. I recognized as Percy's cousin Nico.
"You don't live here, Death Breath!" Percy yelled back affectionately. He certainly seems to belong here more than me. Living with these people, I felt like all three of them were hiding something from me. Percy randomly disappeared and came back with injured people all the time, Dad and Sally and him speaking in hushed tones and silencing if I came in the room.
"Aww, look, Death Breath brought Solace, mom!" Percy yelled. 'Solace' was Nico's not-boyfriend, Will Solace, even though everyone knew they were dating.
"Shut it, Mr. I-must-bring-Annabeth-everywhere!" Nico teased. He scared me. I hopped out of bed, hoping to rescue some cookies before Percy and Co. ate EVERYTHING in the entire house.
"Hey, Mark, come hang out with us!" Percy called cheerfully. There's another thing I hated. He was oblivious to the fact I despised him. Will Solace chomped on a blue cookie, crumbs everywhere around the three. Of course, I thought bitterly. Can't leave any for me. I ignored them and headed back to my room, but not in time to avoid Percy's girlfriend, the other decent thing about him- his girl was hot and I was trying to steal her.
"Hey, Annie, wanna hang with me instead of those idiots?" I asked. She shot me a glare then ignored me. Oh well, she's always here, I can always try again.
"Wise Girl!" Percy shouted from the living room.
"Hey, Seaweed Brain!" Annabeth called out. "Nico, Will, what's going on at camp?" Ah, the elusive camp. Always mentioned and never explained.
"Clarisse got pranked by the Stolls, who made it look like Thalia did it, so they fought each other and Thalia nearly fried Clarisse," Will said casually. My mouth dropped as I hurried back to my room. Their weird was probably contagious, can't hang around long.
A few hours later, the door swung open to reveal Dad and Sally bearing armloads of groceries. Percy, ever the mommy's boy, rushed to help while I stayed in my room.
"Annabeth! Nico!" Sally called warmly. Will had left a while ago, thank god. I got enough of Percy and Annabeth making out without Nico and Will acting all sappy too. I watched from my door as Annabeth hugged Sally and Sally hugged Nico, who looked distinctly uncomfortable. Percy smirked as he hauled groceries like they weighed nothing.
"I don't want to interrupt, Sally. I'll get going," Nico said, heading for the door.
"No, no. You, mister, are staying right here!" Sally insisted. Joy, another ADHD and dyslexic idiot to deal with at dinner. Percy and Co. irritated me to no end with their conversations, flowing from one topic to another instantly. Nico smiled a bit, looking even more creepy.
"Mom, you got him to smile! Where's the video camera?" Percy yelled from the kitchen, laughing. Nico punched him then flopped back dramatically on the couch. Annabeth simply smiled, looking all the better.
"Dinner, everyone!" Sally called. I rushed to my spot at the table so I could get food before the others. I heard them pause some stupid game they were playing and run in, laughing and joking about someone named Jason and Superman. Sally and Dad rushed in, carrying food, and settled around the table. "Let's eat!" Sally declared, smiling. Percy immediately reached for blue mashed potatoes and vegetables.
"Annabeth, is Percy sick? He's eating vegetables!" Dad teased. I sat in my corner, unnoticed. "Mark, how was your day?"
"Fine," I mumbled.
"Paul! As a rule, I don't eat fish, which is what this," Percy gestured to the meal," is comprised of."
"Oh, honey, I'm sorry!" Sally looked chagrined. "Mark said it was one of his favorites, so I made it." Percy nodded at this, Nico and Annabeth smirking. Nico picked up a fish on his fork and waved it in front of Percy.
"Oh, lord! King of the ocean! Please save me!" he mimicked, sounding uncannily like Donald Duck. Percy looked green and suddenly the water glass he was holding shattered, dumping water all over Nico.
"Whoops!" Percy said sarcastically, Annabeth smacking his arm. Sally shook her head and I was shocked. How come he got away with that? I always got the whole disappointment spiel if I broke something. After that, the three of them started arguing in some other language and dinner was boring for the rest of us, since we couldn't understand what they were saying. I headed to bed after Nico left, listening to Percy and Annabeth teasing each other in the next room over. I quickly fell asleep; anything was better than listening to them.
