Dipper began the long treck down to the gates. The sun rising slowly over the top of the grey hills, it was truly now or never. Once down there, Dipper looked around a bit, only to see a four foot gnome peeing in a pond humming quietly to himself. Dipper blinked, since when did they grow so much. He shook his head, he had to focus on finding his sister.
"Excuse me?" Dipper as weirdly, unsure what to say. The gnome jumped in surprise quickly finishing, as he zipped up his pants.
"Oh well, excuse me." he said quickly, turning around to Dipper. He frown and rolled his eye,s "Oh, it's you." he scowled. He picked up a weird looking device and walked to the wall.
Dipper made a face, "Excuse me, but, I need to get through this Labyrinth, can you help me?" he asked. The gnome seemed to be ignoring her and more so looking at a weird fairy creature. Dipper blinked, he had read about those in his book.
"fifty-seven!" the gnome laughed as he sprayed the fairy and it hit the ground with a gasp. Dipper glared at the gnome.
"That wasn't very nice." he said, picking up the fairy, he did expect it to bite him, happened before. Dipper really didn't want to talk about that time. You' think fairies would be a bit more considerant.
The gnome looked at him, he must of said that out loud. "Shows what you know." he muttered, as he sprayed another.
"Fifty-eight!" he laughed, Dipper glared at him.
"Your horrible." he muttered, the gnome stopped and looked at him.
"No, I'm Hoggle." he corrected, Dipper then thought this gnome had a few brain cells missing. Oh well, whatever. The gnome looked at him.
"Who are you?' Hoggle asked gruffly, Dipper glared at him.
"Dipper." he told him, frowning a bit. The gnome looked around, rolling his eyes, but in a way he seemed a bit...Terrified.
"That's what I thought." Hoggle sighed as he walked up to another fairy "Fifty-nine!" he laughed, kicking dirt on it. Dipper sighed, this was getting him no where.
"Do you know where the door to the Labyrinth is?" he asked with a huff of frustration. Hoggle kept walking, as he shrugged.
"Oh, maybe." he said, as saw another fairy.
"Well, where is it?" Dipper asked, as Hoggle cried, "Sixty!" and jumped for joy. Dipper scowled, rolling his eyes at this 'game'.
"I said, where is it?" Dipper asked again, Hoggle looked at him briefly.
"Where is what?" the gnome asked, as he kept walking. Dipper sighed.
'The door?" he asked for the third time, yeah this gnome had a few screws loss upstairs.
"To what?" Hoggle scoffed, Dipper sighed as he crossed hsi arms.
"It's useless asking you anything!" he yelled, Hoggle rolled his eyes. Dipper was about to give up on asking him.
"Not if you ask the right questions." he told Dipper, who sighed following Hoggle.
"How do I get into the Labyrinth?" he asked again, which made the gnome stop and looked at him.
"Ah!" the gnome sighed, "Now that's more like it!" he said, walking over to Dipper.
"You get in, there." he said point to a door. Dipper blinked as it creaked open, that wasn't there a few seconds ago. He walked over to it, the gnome frowned.
"You really going in there?" Hoggel asked, almost in a smug tone. Dipper sighed and looked at Hoggle, nodding to him. He had to save his sister.
"Yes." he said firmly, Hoggle scoffed again, "I'm afraid I have to." he told him looking into the door way. He walked in looking around, the walls where dark gray with them shining becasue of water on them. Roots stuck out in some places, both paths seemed to be littered with dirt and rocks.
"Cozy isn't it!" Hoggle started Dipper, laughing. Dipper glared at him, unknown to him almost matching Bill's glare when angry. This made the gnome stop laughing a bit.
"Now, would oyu go left or right?" the gnome asked, gesturing to both. Dipper looked down both and frowned, biting his lower lip.
"They both look the same." he muttered, Hoggle grunted.
"Well, your not going to get very far." he told Dipper with another smug tone. Dipper kept looking down both, then back at Hoggle.
"Hm...Which way would you go?" he asked, Hoggle gave him a surprised look.
"Me?" he asked, Dipper noded. "I wouldn't go either way." he said truthfully, Dipper sighed
"If that's all the help your going to be, then you can just leave." he told him shaking his head. Hoggle glared at him.
"You know what your problem is?" he asked, pointing to Dipper, "You take too many things for granted." he scolded, walking to the door.
"Take this Labyrinth." he said, "Even if you get to the center. You'll never get out again." he told him. Dipper didn't seem fazed.
"That's your opinion." he told the gnome, who growled.
'Well it's a lot better then yours!" he told him, Dipper went down the right path, he then turned back to Hoggle.
"Thanks for nothing, Hogwart." he said nicely, the gnome grunted again
"Oh! It's Hoggle!" he said, as Dipper kept walking, "And don't say I didn't warn you!" Hoggle told him, walking out of the Labyrinth. Moving his hands as the door slamed shut. Dipper jumped at this, but shook it off as he looked down the right path. He seemed a bit unsure, but took a deep breath and kept walking. All of the eyes turning and watching him closely.
The path seemed to go on forever, Dipper walked over roots and moved out of the way from vines and branches. Dipper felt a bit frustrated, as he kept walking, this thing goes on forever.
"What's a Labyrinth without any corners or turns?" he asked, sighing, but still kept walking. Maybe that's only what he thought. But it stilled kept going on. Dipper sighed and leaned against the wall. He had to save his sister, but how can he get to her!?
"Ello!" said a voice, Dipper turned to see a blue and red worm. He seemed surprised.
"Did you say 'Hello'?" he asked, the bug blinked.
"No, I said 'Ello'. But close enough." he told Dipper with a smile, Dipper looked at him.
"Your a worm, aren't you?" he asked. The worm nodded.
"yeah, that's right!" he had a light British accent. Dipper blinked.
"You don't, by any chance, know the way through this Labyrinth. Do you?" he asked nicely, the worm blinked
"Who me?' he shook his head, "Nah, I'm just a worm.". Dipper frowned.
"Oh..." the worm smiled and tilted his head to the hole, "Come inside and meet the miss's. " Dipper would have laughed, he could have never fitted through there.
"No thank you." he said politely, as he looked around and sighed, "I have to solve this Labyrinth." he told the worm.
"But there aren't any turns or something like that." he looked at the bug, who blinked again.
"Well, you ain't looking right." the worm told him, Dipper frowned at this. What could that possible mean?
"It's full of openings, you just ain't seeing them." he told Dipper, who looked around confused.
"There's one just across there. Right in front of ya." he told Dipper, looking in front of him. Dipper got up and looked at it. Looking at the wall.
"No there isn't." he said confused, the worm sighed.
"Come inside, and have a nice cup of tea." he told Dipper, he looked at the wall agian.
"But, there isn't an opening." the worm chuckled at this.
"Course there is." he told Dipper, "You try walking through it, you'll see." he reassured him.
"What?' he asked, the worm smiled, "Go on, go on then!"
Dipper bit his lower lip, and walked closer to it putting up his hands, "But it's just wall..." he muttered.
"Thing are not always what they seem here." the worm told him, Dipper nodded to this. Yeah, it was Bill's play house. Dipper eyes widen as he passed through and walked left, smiling.
"Hey! Hang on!" the worm said, as Dipper looked back at him.
"Thanks, that was incredible helpful." he said to him, but he worm said.
"Don't go that way." he warned, Dipper frowned.
"What?" he asked, the worm looked serious.
"I said, don't go that way." Dipper wondered why not, "Never go that way." Dipper frowning, but didn't bother to question it. As he looked to the right.
"Thanks." he said with a smile and began walking. The worm sighed as he shook his head.
"Gosh, if he'd kept going that way. He'd go straight to that castle." he muttered, then crawled back inside his home.
