Several Skylanders were in the meeting room when Spyro, Gill Grunt and Trigger Happy, who was skipping along happily, entered it, Spyro managed to find a seat at the front of the crowd of Skylanders along with Gill Grunt, Trigger Happy preferred to sit through meetings while standing on his head, so he made his way to the front of the crowd and did just that. The three Skylanders had made it to the meeting with two minutes to spare, no sooner had those two minutes passed, Master Eon had walked into the meeting room and stood in front of the crowd "Iʼm glad you could all make it" Master Eon said humbly "I have grave news regarding the safety of Skylands" he added. Gill Grunt exchanged a worried look with Trigger Happy, the Gillman turned to Spyro to do the same, only to notice that the Dragon was drowsily staring forward, not seeming to notice the world that was going on around him. "A new threat has risen, this time in the village of Woodburrow" Eon explained "A gang of Trolls have claimed the village for themselves, and from what I have heard they sound very crafty" Gill Grunt glanced over at Spyro, who was still staring into space as Master Eon spoke "Woodburrow will need a team of more experienced Skylanders" Master Eon continued "And I can think of no one more experienced than Spyro, Gill Grunt and Trigger Happy" Trigger Happy, who was still on his head, cheered happily at the sound of his name being said, along with Gill Grunt, who looked over at Spyro, expecting a reaction, but the Dragon was still staring into space. "Spyro, you will be leading the team, as always" Eon said turning in the direction of the purple Dragon, who didnʼt respond and kept staring straight ahead drowsily "Spyro?" Master Eon said, slightly confused by Spyroʼs behaviour "Uh, Y-Yes Master Eon sir Master Eon" Spyro stammered stupidly, earning several confused stares from Eon, Gill Grunt and several others that were in the room "You will be leading the group to help protect Woodburrow" Eon repeated "Iʼll do my best, master" Spyro said, trying his best not to sound nervous as everyone continued to stare at him "Very well" Master Eon said "Meeting adjourned" and with that everyone started to leave the room "Are you OK?" Gill Grunt asked Spyro as they left "Yeah, never better" Spyro replied a little quicker than usual "Why do you ask?" Gill Grunt didnʼt know what to say, he wanted to ask Spyro about his unusual behaviour but he also didnʼt want to be worrying about nothing, this was Spyro he was talking to, the Dragon who handled enemies twice his size with little difficulty, the guy who led the Skylanders when Eon wasnʼt there to guide them, surely he wes fine, he wouldnʼt have told Eon he was going to do his best if not, right? "No reason" Gill Grunt replied, the gillman still thought something was off about Spyro, sure, he was a great hero and one of Skylandsʼ greatest protectors, but he was still his friend and he didnʼt want any harm to come to the young Dragon.
Spyro, Gill Grunt snd Trigger Happy walked down the citadel corridors, the trio had decided to grab some lunch at the cafeteria. "Why couldnʼt we have just gone to McDonalds?" Trigger Happy moaned "Iʼve already told you this a million times, Trigg" Gill Grunt said, rolling his eyes "McDonalds doesnʼt exist" the Gremlin continued to sulk, until he found a penny lying on the ground, picked it up and started happily singing a song about someone called 'Penny The Money Fairyʼ. Gill Grunt couldnʼt help but smile, sure, Trigger Happy wasnʼt the brightest of the three, but his positivity could make anyone happy. Spyro was busy thinking, thinking about how tired he was, about how annoying his headache was, about-, wait no, he shouldnʼt have been thinking about himself, he should have been thinking about Woodburrow, he should have been thinking about the villagers who had lost their home to an gang of green menaces, how could he have been so selfish?. Spyroʼs thinking was cut short when bumped into something, he assumed it was one of the citadelʼs pillars, Trigger Happy often bumped into them, usually on purpose, he had no idea why. Spyro chuckled to himself "I canʼt believe I walked into one of those pillars, thatʼs usually your thing Trigg" he said as he turned to his two friends, only to notice that Gill Grunt had a shocked expression on his face. "I am not a pillar!" A voice snapped from behind Spyro, making him jump and turn around quickly, he saw an elf, she had light blue skin, she wore & long sleeveless black dress that was now covered in spilled food and her featureless white eyes glared right at the purple Dragon. Spyro continued to stare at the ominous figure, he knew what had happened, he had walked straight into Hex, one of the most spooky, mysterious and sinister Skylanders, she would often strike fear into the hearts of her enemies, and her teammates. "I have a meeting in the underworld at two!" Hex shouted "Iʼm now going to be late, thanks to you!" Spyro continued to stare at her, confused as to what to say "Just look at my dress, do you know how easily this material stains?" Hex continued to shout at Spyro, who only stared at her confusedly "Well?!" Hex growled, Spyro stood there for a few seconds, still unsure of what to say, then he realised what he should have said "Oh! uh, sorry?" Spyro finally said "Itʼs about time, Iʼm probably going to be later now!" Hex hissed "Sorry" Spyro said again "Stop saying sorry, it loses its meaning when you use it repeatedly!" Hex angrily said "Sorry" Spyro repeated, grinning sheepishly after realising his mistake "I donʼt have time for this!" Hex shouted as she stormed past him, making Trigger Happy jump behind Gill Grunt as she passed. Gill Grunt looked over at Spyro, who let out a sigh of relief "Donʼt worry, Spyro" the Gillman said, trying to lighten Spyroʼs mood "Sheʼs just, temperamental" Spyro didnʼt bother to look back at his friends, what a stupid display, some hero he was "Yeah, right" the Dragon said quietly as he walked into the cafeteria, Gill Grunt and Trigger Happy exchanged worried glances, following their friend soon after.
