Where there's a will there isn't always a way

"I didn't want this..."

Of course not. Stannis didn't want the Iron Throne, nor Westeros, for nothing. Stannis wanted other things. He always wanted other things. He wanted to have a son worthy of his name and not that sickly daughter, marked for the rest of her life. He wanted a wife who embraced him warmly during the mornings and ardently in the nights. He wanted Storm's End, but Robert gave it to Renly, even when Stannis defend it to the hilt. Stannis wanted many things... But it was clear that where there's a will there isn't always a way.
