Jax was sitting in his room, it had been 3 years since the incident with his parents and living with his uncle wasnt any better.
He shared his father's view on quirkless people but he had some mercy in him and dropped Jax off at an orphanage for quirkless people.
He heard a knock on his door and saw Daniel another kid from the orphanage "Hey me and like 9 other kids are going hiking wanna join?" Dan asked "Yeah sure just let me get ready" Jax said.
Jax walked down the stairs to the lobby and saw who was going to be joining him.
If his memory served him right their was Calvin, Mordecai, Ravi, Daniel, Marcus, Mavis, Katherine, Natalie, Valerie, and Samantha.
"Hey there bud" Calvin cheerfully said "It's too early in the morning for that amount of energy dude" Kai groggily said "Oh cheer up big brother, he's just being friendly" Katherine said, she was 7 years old a year younger than everyone else and arguably the most bubbly out of everyone there, "Y'all lets just go" Sam said.
They made their way up the trail that was close by making small talk with one another until Mavis slipped and fell down a hill.
"MAVIS" Natalie yelled as they all ran down to help her "I'm fine guys really" Mavis said "I mean I scraped my knee but i can still walk" "Um guys you might want to see this" Ravi called from a few feet away "What is it?" Jax said.
Then he saw what Ravi was talking about.
In front of them was a very poorly lit cave, by this time the rest of the group had caught up with them "Cool, demon cave" Calvin said with sparkles in his eyes "Calvin please dont go in there" Mavis said "I don't know about you idiots, but I am going in there" Marcus said "anyone with me."
Jax pulled a headlamp out of his pocket "Couldn't hurt to go explore" he said. "Hell yeah I'm going in there!" Calvin and Katherine said in unison "Katie, what did i say about you swearing" Kai yelled at her.
"Well I supposed we should stick together" Valarie said "Alright then stay behind me and lets go" Jax said.
They entered the cave and walked in a single file line behind Jax because he was the one with the light.
"Hey guys look at this" Jax said. In front of them was 11 pedestals forming a circle they all had an indent in them that looked like a handprint specifically the left one.
"Oh hell yeah" Cal said he walked towards one of the indents until Jax grabbed his hand "The fuck do you think you're doing" Jax said "Come on dude this is how people get super powers in those movies before quirk times" Cal retorted "We could finally get on equal footing with everyone else, don't you want that. besides what's the worst that could happen"
"He does have a point" Dan said everyone else seemed on board with him.
Jax let out a frustrated sigh "Alright then everyone take a pedestals" Jax said. They placed their hands on the pedestals and than a multitude of bright different colored lights blinded them and then everything went black.
