Blinking his dark eyes open, the earthling let out a yelp, paling as he saw his two enemies looming over him, mouths open and stunned. Shakin, Steven recoiled in horror as Blue Diamond reached carefully towards the quartz child, giant tears spilling down her face. "Pink," the tyrannical gem whimpered, sounding hurt. "You have been here the whole time!"
"Back off!" Connie moved closer to her friend, seeing him quake in unspeakable terror. "I don't know who this Pink person is but you are scaring Steven!"
The tall blue gem clenched her fists together, raising her hand into the air. "How dare you?" she spoke in a cold, menacing voice, diamond-shaped pupils narrowing. "You, a petty organic lifeform, dare order me, a diamond, around as if I was a pearl!"
"My name is Connie Maheswaran!" The young Indian girl took a hesitant step forward, placing her shaking fist against her thighs to hide her fear. "I am Steven Universe's Squire and friend, and a member of the Crystal Gems!"
The diamond's eyes grew wide, enraged. Eyes burning with cold fiery, Blue Diamond swung her fist downwards, preparing to end the life of the organic lifeform beneath her. How dare she yell at someone high ranking as her? The organic being was beneath her.
"Nooo!" Steven Quartz Universe pushed past Connie and was enveloped by a bright light. In their place stood, a taller person with mid-back length dark black hair and wore a pale lilac dress with black ruffling cape draped to the ground. Confidently, they summoned their famous rose pink shield, preparing to fight and defend their family and town. "I will not let you hurt my Jam Bud or my home and innocent people!"
Two astounded gasps quickly followed suit as the fusion, Stevonnie, stepped back. "I-I-I.." She looked at the two diamonds before disappearing into two kids one more. They landed, panting on the pale, dew-soaked sand.
"My Mom was Rose Quartz and the former leader of the Crystal Gems. We fought to protect this world and my family and friends," the diamond child said, getting to his feet, visibly tired and exhausted. "But Rose Quartz was just a facade. Her real identity was known as Pink Diamond." The fourteen and half-year-old shifted, seeing a stunned and enraged Connie out of the corner of his eye. "We aren't enemies but family."
"I am out of here!" Connie got to her feet and pushed past Steven. "I could handle it when your Mother was a renegade but a dictator is pushing it!" She paused, flipping the bird to him. "I hope you have fun with your fucking bastard family!"
Flinching, Steven turned to Pearl who stood between Greg and Amethyst in the gathering of Crystal Gems, lashing onto her. He was a delicate and sensitive soul. "Pearl," he cried, sensing the discomfort of Blue and Yellow Diamond.

Meanwhile across town, a thin girl with knotted, greasy brown hair sat on a doorstep of a random house, pulling her knees to her chest and sobbing. Hunger pains stabbed at her hollow stomach, reminding her if her dim future. It had been three days since she had anything to eat or drink.
"The movie was so good," a high pitched voice cried, jolting the small, sickly child awake. "Did you see how Taylor Belle kissed Stefan Boa on the lips!"
"It was good Babe," a masculine voice said, sounding as if they weren't paying attention. "You didn't tell me you had a younger sister?"
The girl turned to face Purple, gasping as the small girl collapses, nearly toppling down the steps but the boyfriend of the girl ran forward, wrapping arms around her.
"She's burning up," was the last thing she heard.
