So hmmm, here the chapter 2 :v

"So? What is it?"

"Good news, milady…"

"Do not call me like that! I'm your chief and your queen, not a lady!"

Being the first female leader of the Berkian Alliance and chieftess of the Hooligan Tribe was maybe the hardest thing she had ever tried to make.

She was fierce, edgy and murderous but she was still a human. Dealing with her husband's death, ruling her tribe and trying to keep her place as queen of the alliance was just too much, not that she couldn't handle it, but Thor knew it was hard. Probably due to the tiredness, she had just faint in a meeting in front of all the chiefs.

"Whatever it is, cure it. I just can't be fainting around all these snakes" she complained trying to sit.

"They're loyal to the Hooligan Tribe, my queen" answered the old harridan.

"They were all loyal to my husband" she tried not to sigh in sorrow "but not to me, not as their supreme leader at least."

"They will to your child, chieftess"

What?

Astrid widened her eyes in shock, completely astonished.

"What? Do you mean that I'm…?"

"Congratulations, queen Astrid. You're pregnant".

A tornado started devastating her insides. She was joyful, of course, Hiccup's child was growing in her body, the last and most beautiful gift he could've ever gave her. But also, it was tough times, the war against Berserkers, the council waiting for clasp their grips on the throne and Heather Berserker willing to everything to get her revenge.

"Don't tell anyone I'm pregnant, Heather can't find out" she ordered covering her face.

"Ma'am, please forgive me if I'm being impertinent, but this child could earn back the alliance's loyal to the Haddocks. You're carrying a son of Hiccup the Third in your belly, they wouldn't dare to touch him".

Astrid caressed her belly protecting her unborn, as if all her enemies would be waiting behind the door to kill them.

"That's true. But once that bitch finds out, she won't stop until gripping her talons on him".

"We'll have to protect him, my queen. My tribe could hide him, you tell the council you're pregnant, present the child once is born and then hide him in a tribe."

She didn't want to cry in front of the old lady, but tears kept coming to her eyes. Her son wasn't even born and he was already in great danger. He was all that was left from Hiccup, heir to the throne of the Berkian alliances, to the Hooligan Tribe and threatened by the Berserkers.

"That's what Oswald did with his daughter." said the old woman.

"And it worked" answered Astrid.

She cover her face letting a torrent of tears roll down her cheeks.

"I don't know. I can't put him in danger, Hiccup would never forgive me. But also… I can't lose his throne and if I don't show our kid to the council they won't accept him years after. And he is Hiccup's heir, protecting him is my duty."

The woman put a hand in Astrid's shoulder and smile to her.

"You are the queen. King Hiccup in Valhalla knows that I'm right my queen when I assure you that he believed in you more than he believed in the gods. You can protect your son and the alliance, my queen"

Astrid returned the smile.

"And I will."

"We're all loyal to you and the memory of your husband, Astrid Hofferson".

But someone behind the door wasn't.

._._._.

"No! This can't be!" yelled Heather the Unhinged throwing an axe through the room to a little sheep.

"But this is in our favor! If we get to kidnap that child, we would devastating her…".

Heather glared at her spy. Her plan was perfect: killing Hiccup to hurt Astrid wasn't at all the real things, just a collateral delight, the true plan was for the berkians, they would never accept a woman as their supreme leader, and with no heir, the alliance would be lost without leader it was just what Astrid tried to do to them. But now with a heir, everything was lost.

"This child will turn against her. Go, keep getting information".

The spy nodded and left.

After what she did in the battle, Berserkers never doubt on accepting her as their ruler, she was smart and tough and really committed to avenge her family and tribe. Berserker were savage but they knew that women and men could be the same in bravery matters, which was the only important thing in their tribe.

._._._.

"No. I won't submit to this humiliation!" she bellowed.

Once she told the high council she was pregnant, Ug chief of the Uglithugs had suggested that a harridan from each tribe must check Astrid and confirm she was pregnant.

"It's just protocol, Astrid. You have anything to fear?" he asked intentionally.

She felt her blood boiled in her veins.

"I don't but you should, Ug. Watch your words, I am your queen."

The chief's face got red and purple of pure wrath.

"No, your husband was our king!" he got up and talked to the others "Com'on berkian tribes! Are we allowing a girl to lead us? Just because she was our King's wife?".

Gobber the Belch stood up and walked to the center of the room, axe in hand.

"I'm won't hear you talk shit about Astrid Hofferson!" He exclaimed "We trusted our King and he chose her to be his lifemate! Not your daughter or sister or any girl from any of your tribes and houses! He chose Astrid Hofferson! We have to respect that decision and protect and serve her as he would want us to".

Thanks Gobber. She would never say it aloud but the fact that someone did believe in her was everything she needed to feel more confident.

"She's a girl!"

"Come here and see how a girl fights if you dare!" she barked raising her axe.

Ug lift an eyebrow and smirked.

"The brain, child, a woman doesn't have what it takes to be a king."

Son of a whore! Astrid was about jump to kill him in the act, but Gobber interfered.

"This girl was much nearer to get the Berserkers than your were, Ug the Uglithug! She's the one who, from all of us, including Stoick the Vast and Hiccup himself, got to kill Oswald and Dagur!" he said.

"She also let the way clear for Heather the Unhinged, who destroyed all our armada!" Ug yelled.

"Oswald and Dagur killed the half of our people under your command, remember?" pointed Gobber.

Redder than before, Ug shouted:

"And I must say, Astrid Hofferson, what a coincidence! Hiccup's killed just when you got pregnant!"

You…! The mere idea of that she could have anything to do with her husband's death was and aberration. She loved him so much that the only thing that kept her alive was the mission of avenging Hiccup. Now, it was her child. His child.

"What, in the name of Odin, are you saying? You think I killed my husband?!" she barked.

"It's suspicious, isn't it?" smirked Ug.

But Gobber wouldn't stand anything else against his nephew's wife.

"How dare you, Ug? Everyone! Remember when King Hiccup was a little child? Remember how all of us laugh at his weak arms and clumsiness? We all thought that muttonhead" he pointed Snotlout Jorgenson "was going to be our king? But no! Hiccup proved to be the best king Berkians have seen since Grimbeard the Ghastly! And was it you the first to believe in him?! Was it me? No! It was Astrid Hofferson! And now our beloved king is gone, we shall listen to his wife and respect her as our rightful ruler. For that's what she is."

Astrid smiled to him.

"Astrid Hofferson, now, in the name of the Hooligan Tribe, I offer you and your child our swords, axes and shields. We'll obey you and die for you in the battlefield, for that's what Hiccup would want us to do."

He kneeled before her, offering her and her unborn child his axe. One by one, all chiefs imitated him, Ug the last.

He did slowly and without losing eye contact with the queen.

"The Uglithugs offer you our axes too. But we won't stand betrayal".

"Either I, Ug" she replied glaring at him with cold eyes.
