Lynxpaw padded through the entrance, his blueish gray pelt blowing softly in the wind. Glancing around the camp, he saw the wonderful cats that surrounded him, the black and white pelt of their respectful leader Birchstar blowing as she lay on the high ledge, the mixed pelts all across camp.

But then he laid eyes on his parents, two cats who broke the code, and now he had to deal with the consequences, despite how great most of his clanmates, Lynxpaw was for the most part bullied, and was an outsider on conversations. All because his mother was a medicine cat, and his father was the clan deputy.

But that is not all, oh no. The SkyClan kits, Sweetkit and Flamekit played off in the distance. They were the most imperfect out of the entire clan. Do they belong in ThunderClan? No. Do they live here now? Yes, and they seem to want Lynxpaw to spend time with them more and more despite him being so busy, and really not wanting to. Their father was rude to all the other clans except for his own. But Lynxpaw was the cat who saved them from the thunder-path back before they became ThunderClan kits.

Lynxpaw moved forward, once Littleshy has finished her training, his mother would be forced to become a warrior. Lynxpaw couldn't understand why Birchstar kept his father as deputy.

"Lynxpaw, Lynxpaw!" the excited squeals of Sweetkit and Flamekit shook him out of his thoughts.

Lynxpaw turned his head from what was in front of him, and he faced the two kits groaning in the inside. "Yes." He tried to remain positive for the kits.

"You want to play a game?" Flamekit asked, bouncing about on her paws.

Sweetkit got in a sneak position, prowling to behind Lynxpaw. "How bout we play catch the mouse." She play growled, lunging onto Lynxpaw's tail.

Lynxpaw swung it aside. "Now, I didn't say I would play Sweetkit." Lynxpaw meowed.

The dark red she-kit's ginger tail drooped. "Right, sorry Lynxpaw." She apologized.

"Lynxpaw!" his mentor summoned

Without another word Lynxpaw turned away from them, and headed straight towards Hawkfeather. Who was incredibly impatient. "For the rest of today, you will be working." He informed.

"I'm not a medicine cat apprentice!" Lynxpaw growled.

"And I'm not taking you outside again; try both careers of your parents for StarClan's sake." Hawkfeather retorted.

Lynxpaw turned his face. 'I didn't ask to be a warrior turned deputy and medicine cat's kit!' Lynxpaw shook his head. Tail lashing, he headed towards the medicine cat den.

Maplebranch rose to her paws, she padded forward to talk to him, but Lynxpaw avoided her by swerving away from his mother. Maplebranch's tail drooped, and in a turn of usual foundations. The mother followed her son to the medicine cat den.

Lynxpaw brushed through the entrance, his blueish gray pelt not brushing thanks to his skinniness.

Maplebranch ran to catch up with Lynxpaw. "So, what do you want to help us with today?" she asked, trying to get Lynxpaw upbeat, or at least happy to help.

But Lynxpaw just glared at her. "How about you tell me what you need, and I'll choose." He growled.

Maplebranch just dropped her gaze. "Well, there's…"

Littleshy perked up her ears and turned her head. "You can help me gather herbs." She inquired.

Maplebranch nodded. "Yes... yes that would be great." She meowed. Looking at Lynxpaw with expectations.

Lynxpaw prowled towards Littleshy. "Sure, I guess." He responded.

Littleshy lead Lynxpaw out of the den, leaving Maplebranch to her thoughts.
