It has been a year since the murder of my best friend and the conviction of "Bobby Fulbright". After being sniped, "Fulbright" was put in the hospital. Fortunately, he survived without the bullet puncturing anything major in his head. After making a full recovery, he's been put on death row for the murders of Metis Cykes and Clay Terran. Honestly? The punishment isn't satisfying. I don't think it ever will be, because it won't bring Clay or Dr. Cykes back, or heal all of the emotional damage following the case. ...Anyway, the phantom's real identity was never revealed to us, for reasons unknown. Probably something just between the police. It's not really important, since I know what he is; a monster.

Besides that, things have been a bit rough at times (I've had to go to hospital once so far, because some wounds on my chest reopened...Not a fun experience.), but mostly the Wright Anything Agency has been in calm waters. We haven't taken any cases in a while, though, since Mr. Wright wants Athena and I to take a little time to recover from the emotional (and physical, in my case) wounds from the case. It was nice of him, but I've been sitting around for a year - Seriously! I'm fine!

Athena left for Europe to visit family about a two days ago, and she said she'll be back in two weeks. It's not like I miss her or anything; Trucy and Pearly have been keeping me on my toes. Somehow, my sister managed to convince Pearly that it was a good idea to be her magical assisstant. You'd think I'd be happy about that, right? Well, turns out I have to play the audience in rehearsals now. Being the audience basically means magical assisstant #2, because "Polly, you can't have a magic show without and audience!".

Anyway, it's been a boring year around the office. I've been relaxing, helping Trucy with her homework, and doing some paperwork for Mr. Wright. I'd always been wishing for a case to take on, to finally feel like I was a use to the agency.

But this wasn't at all what I'd been hoping for. I take back all of my wishing.
