Author Note: I'm trying something new here, I've never done a story with the supernatural involved, but I think I got a good thing going here in this one, but I am always open to suggestions for continuation.

After Crystal, Catherine's sister, picked up Lindsey and Caitlyn, adding to more children to her own stash of three for the week, Gil and Catherine left for the airport. They boarded a bowing 747 Air America Jet departing from the Las Vegas International Airport at 6:30 that evening. Grissom was still baffled at how his wife was able to plan all of this over the past six months with him being non the wiser. Granted, he was very preoccupied with work, but he though Catherine was as well now being the Swing Shift Supervisor. Clearly the team was not pulling in enough case work if she was able to pull of something as elaborate as this without him knowing. No matter how much h badgered her, Catherine refused to tell him any of the details, saying everything would be revealed in due time, like some ominous clairvoyant.
The couple was settled into their seats, Catherine splurged for business class, allowing Gil to have the window seat to use his shoulder as a pillow to lean against. With the sudden rush of dealing with airport security and making sure they arrived on time and at the proper gate, exhaustion started to take over, tucking her feet under her butt on the plush seat, snuggling in close. Gil kissed her on the forehead, pulling out the plasticized safety manual and looking over the images of people jumping out of airplanes and using life vests.
"Do you really read those things?" Catherine asked.
"Safety first Catherine," Gil chided with a smile.
Catherine sighed, looking directly across from her seeing a little girl who was about Lindsey's age squirming into a seat twice her size. Her wide eyes were hazel, but her skin was what drew Catherine's attention. It was pale, with dark circles under her eyes like she hadn't slept in days. Catherine suddenly felt a chill course down her spin, thinking that she was looking at a corpse. The girl was dressed in pajamas, ready for the long flight, clutching a smell teddy bear close to her chest. Catherine smiled at her but the girl buried her face in the head of her teddy bear, avoiding her eyes.
She thought nothing of it, assuming the little girl was shy and turned her attention back to Grissom, closing her eyes. She thought about Lindsey when she was that young, remembering how bubbly and talkative she was to anyone who was within earshot. When Catherine opened her eyes to the sound of the flight attendants voice flooding the PA system to explain the safety procedures, the little girl had vanished and instead sitting in the seat was a business man, dressed in a sharp dark blue pin striped suit. He smiled at Catherine, his eyes wandering over her body, sizing her up.
"Excuse me, did you see a little girl sitting here?" She asked the man, avoiding his blue eyes that were burning holes into her chest.
"No, I've been sitting here the whole time." He replied, " By the way, you're very beautiful when you sleep." He added with a smirk.
Gil could no longer feel Catherine against him as he noticed his wife talking with the man across the isle. It was evident by the smirk on his lips and the bulge in his pants that this conversation was not just strangers being polite. Catherine flashed the man her wedding ring followed quickly by her middle finger, watching the man scowl, the conversation ended just as abruptly as it began. He watched his wife look frantically up and down the isle with panic in here eyes.
"Catherine, are you alright?" Gil asked as he lightly touched her hands, feeling her jump.
"Gil, did you see a little girl sitting here?" Catherine asked, pointing at the spot the asshole was still occupying wishing he'd vanished instead of her.
"N-No, I didn't notice." Gil replied and squeezed Catherine's hand. "Maybe you're just missing the girls, I don't think any kids are allowed up in business class." He reasoned, not really sure if his logic was one hundred percent correct, but felt that would calm her down.
Catherine was about to protest, but when she pictured the little girl all she could see was Lindsey and maybe Gil had a point. She smiled and nodded, nuzzling her neck back into Gil's shoulder. The flight attendant had stopped talking and the plane was about to take off. As the plane ascended into the air she kept a tight grip on Gil's hand, squeezing her eyes shut until the plane had leveled out once more. When she opened her eyes she took a long exhale, realizing she was holding her breath, the worst of the flight over with.
The ding of the seat belt light flicked off as she quickly undid the metal flap over her abdomen, feeling her tense muscles suddenly relax. The flight attendants began making their rounds with complementary drinks and snacks, noticing the pompous business man was still sitting across from her and the the little girl was still nowhere to be seen. When the flight attendant stopped to ask what they wanted to drink Catherine could not resist asking about the child once more.
"Anything to drink?" The young brunette asked with a wide smile.
"Excuse me, was there a little girl up here earlier? She was sitting right there and now, she's gone." Catherine asked.
The flight attendant frowned, "I'm sorry Miss you must be mistaken, children are not permitted in business class. Can I get you anything to drink?"
"A glass of white wine please,"
"And for you Sir?"
"Same, thank you," Gil replied patting Catherine's hand seeing the frown on her face.
The flight attendant handed them their wine and a bag of pretzel's each before continuing on down the isle. Catherine pulled out a small pack of sleeping pills from her purse, popping one out of it's packaging.
"Didn't the Doctor say not to take those with alcohol?" Gil stated.
Catherine popped the pill in her mouth, chasing it with almost her full glass of wine, "What the Doctor doesn't know, won't hurt him." She replied, closing her eyes and hoping the pills would kick in soon.

Six hours later, ding of the seat belt awoke the married couple. Catherine's eyes felt heavy, her whole body aching from laying curled up to Gil for the duration of the flight. She fumbled with the small belt to click into place, her hands feeling like they couldn't move as the plane shook with turbulence. She gripped the armrest, digging her nails into Gil's hand, panic taking hold once more.
"Everything is going to be fine," Gil soothed as the cabin shook again, this time it was stronger as the overhead lights flickered.
"I love you," She breathed as if it was the last thing she was going to say to him.
"I love you too," Gil replied and kissed her cheek as the plane dipped low, both of them feeling their stomachs drop inside them. It was like they were on a roller coaster ride.
Gil opened the curtain covering the small window as sunlight blinded him momentarily. Once his vision adjusted he noticed they were over the ocean for all that was below and around them was the blue sky disappearing into the blue water. Their was no land for miles and the waves looked fierce, white caps on some of them signalling it was quite windy out, which explained this vicious turbulence.
The cabin shook once more as Catherine thought again she saw a flash of the little girl, this time standing in the middle of the isle, a pool of water at her feet, her blonde hair wet and plastered to her face, skin blue like ice. Catherine blinked and she was gone, the isle once again clear as the cabin stopped shaking, leveling out once more.
A few moments later the Captain came on the PA system announcing they were beginning their decent into Bermuda. The plane started to turn, as Gil could see the landing gear emerging from the underbelly of the plane. Suddenly land appeared on the horizon and fishing boats dotted the ocean. Catherine tried to focus on her breathing, feeling her hears pop with change in altitude, the runway starting to get larger in their window. She closed her eyes, anticipating the jolt of the landing gear touching down on the tarmac as the plan came to a sudden deceleration.
They had finally made it to Bermuda.
As the plane taxied down the runway to their gate beautiful palm trees crossed the window, as the smoldering sun sizzled the asphalt surrounding them. This view was a refreshing changes from the bright lights and endless mounds of desert sand back home. The plane made a sharp right turn, pulling up as close as possible to the terminal that was half the size of any airport back in the United States. As the plane came to a stop, signalling people could move about the cabin Catherine quickly looked at the seat across from her to see if the little girl had made a miraculous return, but it was empty, the chauvinistic business man already up and out of his seat. She began to second guess herself, thinking she just had an overactive imagination. This was the first time ever that Catherine had gone of vacation without her children so maybe there was so truth to what Gil had said.
"Hey, you okay?" Gil asked seeing his wife was once again infatuated with that seat.
Catherine smiled, "Yes, I cannot wait to get off this plane." She stated, standing to stretch out her sore muscles.
Being in Business Class came with perks of not having to wait in line to depart the plane. Gil and Catherine quickly crossed into the covered walkway, following the carpeted floors out to the main terminal to find their way towards the baggage claim. As soon as they entered the spacious airport terminal they were greeted with floor to ceiling windows that looked out towards the tropical landscape the island had to offer. Neither Catherine nor Gil had ever been to Bermuda, but from the pictures in the travel magazines the island looked like paradise. Silky sand beaches, clear blue ocean, drinks with little umbrella's in them, it was a vacationer's dream.
"So once we have our luggage, I assume we need to take a taxi to the Marina?" Gil stated as they followed the other passengers from their flight down to baggage claim.
"Correct," Catherine replied with a smile. Gil knew that smile meant she was hiding something.
"You've already booked us a Yacht haven't you?"
Catherine just shrugged, "You'll see when we get there." She replied cryptically, taking off towards the carousel to look for their luggage.
