Hey again!

For those of you who have not read the manga or watched the anime, it is in your best interest that you do with this story as it will follow both. I will only give a spoiler alert one time.

And only one disclaimer: I do not own Kuroshitsuji or it's characters. I only own Alina and all other OC's mentioned beforehand.

I hope you all enjoy!

Why do I feel like I'm being sucked into something?

I thought to myself, as I saw nothing but black.

Everything hurt. It was as if I was being compacted down to fit into a small box. The feeling of being squished washed over my body, making me wince in pain.

So this is what it feels like to be dead.

To be cast out into the in-between and exist as nothing but a soul. At least, that's what I believed I would be.

So where was heaven? Was an angel going to come collect my celestial body and bring me before a higher being? Or was I destined for hell? I shivered. The thought terrified me. What have I done wrong to deserve that fate? Was I too careless with my life? There were certain times where I wanted to repent, to curse the god I sought out for answers and turn to Satan instead, but I never went through with it.

I didn't know. I only continued to drift among nothing.

Suddenly, the feeling of drifting stopped. My eyesight began to lighten as I feel myself beginning to come to, and I shake in surprise. What the bloody hell? There's no way I survived that crash! So how am I waking up?

I blinked a few times, but my vision was still too blurry to see anything. The faint wetness of something kept splashing on my prone form. Blood, maybe?

I wiggle my fingers only to feel something itchy. It had to be grass. I looked down, softly sighing when my eyesight finally cleared. My eyes met the short blades of the ground. Yes, it was grass. Dull and green, but it was grass.

Sitting up slowly, I looked at myself to see if I was injured anywhere. Shockingly there was no blood, not even a scratch in sight. My head was throbbing the slightest bit, but that was it.

I still don't understand...I thought as I stood up carefully, being mindful of my headache. I picked up my bag at my feet and took in my surroundings. For yet another explainable reason, I was met with the sight of a forest. The lush scenery made my head spin all the more. Not only was I hit by a car of all things-and survived-I was now stuck in the middle of a forest?! This had to be the afterlife. I had to be dreaming. There had to be some explanation for this.

Luckily there was a dirt path, big enough for a car to fit on ways away from the shrubbery. I began to follow it, walking down it drowsily and looking for anyone that would be able to give me correct directions. I felt a big raindrop on my head and looked up as it began to pour down. "Shit.." I cursed under my breath, pulling my hood over my head and picking up my pace. I had to find shelter, at least for the time being. This road was bound to take me somewhere populated if I kept going.

I ran for what felt like miles until I came upon the sight of an older looking mansion, or what appeared to be a large looking estate. Why weren't there any other houses around here? Usually there would be neighbors close by. This is definitely not San Francisco. Even in the more secluded areas, the houses were built close together.

I walked up the cobblestone pathway and looked curiously at the beautiful garden in front of the estate. I shrugged. Must have been an extremely wealthy family. That didn't matter to me, so long as I got out of the rain.

As soon as I stopped in front of the large double doors, I reached into my bag and felt around for my cellphone. I cheered silently when my hand came into contact with the smooth surface, immediately pulling it out and pressing the home button. I looked into the corner where the carrier usually was, and saw that I had absolutely no service.

Perfect. Just perfect.

"Damn it." I murmured, giving up for a minute and reaching up to knock loudly on the surface of the door. The hard wood hurt my hand a bit after. That was incredibly strong wood, which had me wondering. Usually today's doors were of lighter material, like laminate or soft wood. This door had an extremely old and luxurious feel to it.

Only a second later and the door cracked open, and I had to look up to see the man that had answered it.

I had to go to great lengths to keep it closed.

Hot. Damn.

And I wasn't putting that lightly.

This man took gorgeous to another level. His features were otherworldly, that was the word I was looking for. Rust-red eyes met my own, clashing with his raven hair and pale, flawless skin. He smiled politely with full lips, though it seemed a bit forced for my liking. I let my eyes travel down his body to see that he was wearing a…butler outfit?

Well, it could have been worse. But seriously...no one wears this kind of attire anymore. What's with that?

"Hello, Madame. Is there something that you require help with?" The beautiful man asked. I blinked quickly and met his eyes once again. His voice was a deep timbre, like the sweetest violin song. And English, too? Was he from England? Ignore my poetic words, I can't help them. Was he really the perfect specimen? I didn't doubt that one.

I wanted to continue mentally swooning over him and asking myself questions, until I realized he had asked me a question.

My cheeks heated up in embarrassment. "Sorry to bother you, but would you maybe have a telephone or cell phone I could use? I'm sort of lost, and I think my parents will be worried if I don't come home soon." I spoke quietly.

His expression screamed puzzled, which made me tilt my head to the side. Was it something I said? Maybe he was offended that I stared at him for so long? It really wasn't my fault. He probably knew the affect his looks had on people.

"A cell phone? Forgive me, but I believe you are mistaken, miss. We do not carry such things here."

If I had the ability to sweatdrop, this would be the perfect time to. I frowned upon the realization that he was one-hundred percent serious. "You...don't have a cell phone? You know...call and text people, take photos, one that looks like this?" I raised my hand, showing him my useless at the moment iPhone. If it was even possible, his beautiful features twisted into more confusion. "You've never seen one before? Really?"

He looked at me as if I grew a second nose. "Perhaps...you should come inside, I would hate for the young miss to become soaked because of my mistake to invite her inside properly. We do have a telephone, but this 'mobile telephone' you have shown to me is quite beyond our current technology." He moved aside and bowed slightly, waiting for me to enter.

I muttered a quiet "thank you" and stepped inside, the warmth instantly surrounding me and doing great things to my chilled form.

The inside of the mansion was astounding. I had felt as if I had stepped over a hundred years back into the past, with the high ceilings and double staircase to complete the entrance hall. A large painting with a three-person family was the largest decoration. Nothing had captured me more then the beautiful boy who sat upon his parents' knees, the sapphire blue eyes staring back at me with innocent intention.

"If you come this way, please. I shall take you to my master." the butler said, taking my attention off the painting and waiting for me to trail obediently behind him.

The frown that I had wore previously came back full-force. "Your master? What about-"

"All in due time, miss. Please follow me." he cut off, looking over his shoulder at me and giving me a close-eyed smile. I bit my lip, not liking the feeling that he was currently giving me. Something was wrong. I probably shouldn't have accepted his invitation to enter, but what was I supposed to do? It wasn't like I had much of a choice, being in such an unknown place when I thought I was dead.

"Ah, here we are." he stopped in front of yet another large door (I wasn't surprised due to all the other doors we've passed) and rose a hand to knock delicately.

"Enter, Sebastian." a voice replied, the sound boyish and childish. Was his master...no, I must have been hearing things. Well, at least I knew what to call the handsome butler in black. And of course, a perfect name to go to a perfect being. It was almost unfair.

Sebastian opened the door slowly, peeking inside before I got the chance to. "Excuse me, young master. I have brought our guest." he moved out of the way, once again waiting for me to go inside first. Upon entering, my eyes caught sight of the boy; the very same boy in the painting. His small form barely occupied the large office chairs he sat in, making me see that he really was a child. He had ash-blue hair that fell around a cherubic face, an eye patch covering his right eye.

An accident, perhaps? I couldn't be sure.

But one thing that I was sure of...

The immense sadness in his blue depths. Something that a boy his age shouldn't of have. It was easy to tell, especially when I was a person who could relate. You appear adequate on the outside, but on the inside you're suffering from something that no one is aware of or knows of. A tortured soul.

Just like mine, but most likely for different reasons.

"What brings you to my manor, miss?" he asked with British lilt. I hummed to myself. Maybe the entire place was occupied with English people? That had to be it. That said, his clothes were unfamiliar just like his butlers. His clothes looked strangely Victorian, especially the large blue diamond that sat on his thumb, glittering in the light when he clasped his hands in front of him.

"I uh..." trailing off, I was at a loss of what to say. Where did I begin? "I'm sorry to disturb you, but I was in an accident and now I'm not quite sure where I am. I came across your residence first to ask if I could use a telephone, or a cellphone maybe? I don't have service so it doesn't appear to be working.."

The boy had a shocked look on his face before quickly replacing it with an expressionless one. "A cellphone? I have never heard of such a thing. Sebastian?" he directed the question towards his butler, who placed a hand under his chin in thought.

"The miss has said that it is similar to our telephone, but with more attributes, my lord. I am also unsure of its origins."

I closed my eyes and smacked myself mentally. Looks to me like these people are similar to the Amish. Retro living, it seemed.

"It's a device that allows you to text, call, and many other things while it being small enough to carry with you places, and can call large distances around the world." I tried helping out a bit more, giving a sheepish grin when his eyebrows rose.

His one visible eye closed momentarily before opening again, he was still uncertain but with an absolute expression, he spoke. "I can't say that we have ever laid eyes on your...device," he said that word with a bit of curiosity, but played it off anyway. "But you may use our line telephone, if that will help-"

His voice trailed off as he looked at me, a startled expression playing on his young face. "Your clothes... what are you wearing?"

I looked down at myself in confusion. Sure, I was a bit dirty from the rain, but I was in normal clothing. What was the matter? "What's wrong with them? This is the style these days."

"I would think a lady of your stature and age would wear something more concealing, like a day dress or gown." he said suspiciously, a small tint of red on his cheeks as he cleared his throat and looked away. He was clearly a bit embarrassed, but I couldn't see why. It wasn't like I was being immodest, right?

"They're considered normal in San Francisco. 2014 has been a really fashionable year for everyone." I smiled, trying to lighten up the mood.

Apparently, it only made it worse.

If I had thought his eye was wide before, it was impossibly wide now. He grew increasingly shocked at my reply, having trouble speaking as if something was caught on his tongue. That's when I began to truly freak out. My gut feeling had been right.

Something was very, very wrong.

I calmed myself down with deep breaths and looked at the boy again. "Could you tell me the date?"

No answer. He seemed just as shocked as I was, if not more so. Fortunately, his butler spoke for him. "The date is November 18th, 1887."

At this, my heart stopped.

I couldn't breath.

No, I couldn't think. I didn't know.

Was I hyperventilating? Maybe.

"Y-You're serious? Are you pulling my leg?" I stuttered, a fake laugh escaping my lips. "Good joke, really. You can tell me the truth now."

"My butler speaks the truth. That is the correct date." finally recovering from his shock, the child's expression suddenly turned deadly, making me tense. "I don't know what kind of person I let inside my home, but it will do you no good if you lie to me. Sebastian."

In a flash, my arms were pulled behind my back and I was held against a hard chest. I gasped, struggling against the seemingly unbreakable grip of the butler. Fear had filled my body, along with anger. I was still trying to contemplate just how I managed to travel back in time along with the mixed feelings I began to harbor. What was I going to do?

"Hold on a second!" I snapped, still trying to pull away from my live restraints. "What reason would I have to lie to you? I'm just as confused as you are! Here I am, supposed to be dead, only I'm not and I come to find out that I've somehow traveled into the past? And where are we?" I added as an afterthought.

"England."

"I knew it. Even worse, I'm not even near home. I-I just want to get home, okay? I don't mean any harm." my voice dropped, getting quieter and quieter each time I spoke. I felt all of the emotion drain from my body. Really, there was nothing I could say to encourage them to let me go. I knew what I was saying was hard to believe, but in my position? It looked the very same way. I felt completely and utterly defeated as I stopped struggling.

The boy looked at me and calmly asked, "What do you mean, you are supposed to be dead right now?"

I tensed at the question, not even knowing how to answer that myself. "I was hit by a car. Uh, a futuristic type of carriage. I should have been killed on impact, but instead I ended up in the forest not far from here."

The bluenette's eye narrowed, and he searched my eyes for any lie he could pick up on. He couldn't find any.

"If I may, my lord." Sebastian broke the silence, his breath ruffling my hair slightly as he spoke. Jesus, he was tall. "I cannot sense a lie whatsoever. She is indeed telling the truth.

I let out a sigh of relief, and nodded slightly to the butler in thanks. His body rumbled slightly. I identified it as a chuckle.

"...Very well." as he said this, the butler let me go. I rubbed my wrists, trying to ward off the tight sensation in them from being restrained. "You have my deepest apologies, miss. Understand that I took drastic measures to ensure the safety of my home and its inhabitants." he stood, approaching me from his desk and stopping in front of me. He was a few inches shorter then me, and I almost crooned at how adorable he was. Despite his personality, I had the strangest urge to hug him.

Keep it up, Alina, keep it up.

He reached out a hand, waiting for a handshake I presumed. I placed my hand in his. "My name is Ciel Phantomhive, the Earl of Phantomhive. And you are?"

"Alina Caldwell." I introduced myself, shaking his hand lightly. "I'm sorry we couldn't have met under better circumstances."

Ciel hummed. "I as well." he let my hand go. "In light of my rudeness, please stay here as our guest for the time being. At least until the rain passes up."

I smile gratefully. I didn't know what I was going to do about time travel, but it would probably be in my best interest to gather my bearings first and start the next day. Heading back to the forest would probably be my best bet...it was a possibility that I had come through a wormhole of some sort, or a tear in the space time continuum.

I never thought I would get to say that, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

"Sebastian will show you to your room. I hope your stay is to your liking." He leaned against his desk and crosses his arms over his chest. "Make sure Miss Alina has everything she needs, as well as a bath and new apparel."

Said butler bowed at the waist, placing his hand over his heart. "Yes, my lord. If you will follow me, miss?" he turned his back on me, reopening the door and waiting for me to follow suit.

"One second." I stopped him, giving the claimed Earl a small smile. "Thank you for being so kind, I can't thank you enough." I bowed my head, taking into account my manners and turned to follow Sebastian to whatever room he had in mind.

Once we made an exit, Sebastian turned to me, reaching down and holding out a gloved hand. I tilted my head a bit. Another handshake? "Allow me to properly introduce myself, miss. My name is Sebastian Michaelis, the butler of the Phantomhive family. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance, please do not hesitate to call me." instead of the suspecting handshake, his lukewarm lips pressed against the top of my hand, making a heated blush dance across my cheeks.

Damn it. I forgot that this was etiquette.

Screw a tomato. I probably looked worse than that.

I nodded shakily, taking my hand out of his and hiding it behind my back. "Thank you."

That was all I could say, but in reality I was screaming. He was going to be taking care of me?! Kill me now. I don't think my heart can handle it.

He smiled and bowed to me. "This manor is rather large, so allow me to escort you until you have been given a full tour."

He led me to a rather large kitchen and walked over to the cabinets, getting out a few cooking utensils. "Is there anything you would like to eat? You must be rather hungry, after that long walk you took to arrive here."

I shook my head, "To be honest, Mr. Michaelis, I'm not very hungry at the moment. My appetite was gone the second I found out I was in the 1800's."

He chuckled and grabbed a few ingredients out of the pantry. "You do not have to refer to me as Mr. Michaelis, for I am just a servant. You may call me Sebastian, I do not mind it. And it is rather unhealthy to skip meals, so I will make something small for you. My Lord has specifically told me to take care of you, so it is my duty, and as such, I will make sure everything accommodates to your needs. What kind of butler would I be if I could not follow that simple order?" He smirked devilishly.

I opened my mouth and closed it like a fish. He was rather persistent, wasn't he? "Very well, thank you. You can make whatever you want for me, I don't want to be any trouble for you."

He poured some eggs, milk, and sugar into a bowl and began whisking it. "Very good, Milady. I shall be done momentarily then."

Something popped up into my head. "Um, Sebastian?" I said hesitantly.

"Yes, Milady?" He raises his head to look at me.

"You don't have to be so formal. Everyone calls me Alina, so…that means you're allowed to call me that, too." I looked away nervously. What is wrong with me? He's just another man. Sure he may be gorgeous, and have a voice as smooth as butter-Stop it, Alina. You're setting yourself up for more torturous thoughts.

He paused in thought and looked back down at what he was doing. "If that is what you wish."

I smiled and watched as he poured the dough into a pan. He did so quickly and efficiently, as if it were no trouble to him. I couldn't help but watch in fascination. He was incredibly good.

I heard a chuckle, and I looked up to see Sebastian smiling with closed eyes. "Would it not be a far-off assumption if I had said you fail to receive handmade meals often?"

Oh. So he could notice, could he?

"I...eat out a lot." I said sheepishly, clenching my wrist tightly. I hoped he couldn't notice. His eyes opened slowly, staring at me with a rusted gaze. He managed to keep his eyes on me as he covered the pan with some sort of plastic, placing it over an open flame in an oven-like container and shutting it.

"Ah, I see." he smiled, this time putting a medley of berries and cream in a bowl and mixing it. "I think you will find that in this manor, we make everything ourselves. It is only on occasion do we...eat out, as you so eloquently put it." he finished with a smirk.

After about 10 minutes, Sebastian placed what looked like a cream-puff pastry in front of me and handed me a fork.

"I have made choux à la crème for you. It is a cream pastry from France, and it is small enough for you to nibble on."

I gazed upon said food and hesitantly stabbed my fork into it. I lifted up a small portion piece and put it into my mouth. While chewing, a delightful feeling came upon me and I all but melted into a puddle. This tasted amazing!

I closed my eyes in pure bliss and opened them to look at the butler. "This is delicious, thank you for making this for me Sebastian." I smiled and continued eating the pastry eagerly.

Sebastian smirked and bowed slightly. "Why thank you, Miss. I am glad to see that you are enjoying it."

Enjoying it? I thought. My mouth is orgasmic because of this damn pastry. I snickered at my inner dialogue and stuffed the last few bites into my mouth.

"Since it appears that you are finished eating, I will show you to your room. You must be fairly tired." Sebastian stated and began to walk out of the room. I followed suit until we arrived at a large, beautifully luxurious room.

The rooms walls were painted a dark blue, and the bed had canopy-like curtains that were blue and purple over it. I walked inside in complete awe, while running my hands over the soft comforter. It was a dark purple. I looked around and saw that the nightstands were black, as was the wardrobe.

"It seems that you like this room, I am glad it is to your liking. If you will excuse me, I must go prepare the Young Master for bed." He bowed, and swiftly left me in the gloomy room.

I climbed onto the comforter and sighed, wanting to already fall asleep. This bed was damn comfortable. I shut my eyes and could feel myself drifting off to sleep.

All too soon, I felt myself being lifted into someone's arms. I felt my clothes come off and be replaced with a soft, silky nightgown. I yawned as I was put back down onto the bed and felt a blanket being lifted over me. I snuggled into the comforter and began drifting off to sleep once again.
