Cortana's holographic form chuckled to herself as she watched Alex undergo the changes. She has her doubts about the young man's potential and this was a great sign that she and the OverMind had chosen the perfect person.
Once the images finally stopped, Alex leaned up out of the operating table, a look of pure bewilderment on his face was all that was needed to be seen to tell how he felt about the transition.
He shook his head to regain his bearings some before reaching into his pocket and pulling out his cigarettes. After all that wackiness he just went through, he definitely needed something to take the edge off.
"Really? That's the first thing you do?"

"We'll get to that later but right now, there's something important you need to see. Go to your bedroom, you'll find it in there," Cortana instructed with a bit of a sly smile.
Alex hesitantly got up and made his way out of the operating room and down the hallway when he heard strange noises coming from one of the bedrooms.

Fire started to form around the woman as she slowly rose higher off the ground before she closed her eyes and grabbed her head and screamed in pain before the fire extinguished itself and she fell to her knees.
The video cut off after that and Cortana continued on to look at more potential candidates and then sent out a drone that only the women shown would see and follow. Once they follow the drone to its destination, they will begin the process of indoctrination into the collective and Cortana couldn't wait to get started.
