Also before we begin I need to address something.
Firstly, sorry I haven't been updating this at all, I've been into other projects that haven't burned me out at all and are much easier to plot out. This doesn't mean I'm stopping this.
One of the reasons as to why this series got rebooted was because I never properly planned things out (oddly enough I had Vol 3 planned out to a T) and so it felt like I was hitting multiple road blocks at full speed and while this works while playing Dark Souls, it sadly doesn't work in writing.
But, the main reason I'm taking so long is because RWBY...
Is a badly written show that retcons its own retcons. And I was losing interest.
So I'm also taking the time to proper set down main points (dust, semblance, etc. something even the show can't keep the same) for RWBY and making sense of what notes I have gathered. But I also decided to write out this short chapter so I could warn you all about this fic's updating schedule. There will be some extra notes about this particular projects in the end.
But I hope you enjoy regardless.

It was a pleasant day in the city of Vale. It was warm and sunny, and the sky was the bluest it had ever been in a while. People roamed the busy streets, birds would chirp and make an attempt to steal some poor individuals food, and discrimination was rampant within the dark alleyways and its hidden underworld.
Vale was a great place to live if one wanted to live in a secure place where the presence of the Grimm was very few, the few were Karni that stalked society within the darkness, rat Grimm that could grow to the size of a small toddler and perhaps even bigger all with curved bladed like front teeth jutting from their skeletal head. Of course, they were dispatched whenever spotted. As while many were small they were extremely dangerous in groups, as less than a dozen could kill an adult within seconds.
They were small, but still a problem.
They were still Grimm after all, and they would destroy humanity and it's creators when given the chance. However a massive misconception was that all Grimm were just mindless beasts that desired to slaughter man, while the latter was certainly true, the former wasn't.
Grimm were creatures that learned, just like many others.
And a single Giant Karni was watching the horror unfold in front of it, its yellow eyes burned hotter than the sun's surface as it watched with interest.
A large and rather buff man was cutting into the skin and slowing toughening flesh of a recently deceased feline faunus. He broke her arms and legs, breaking the joints and snapping them off with his strength. His eyes were glazed over, his gaze couldn't focus on the body in front of him and would wobble on his legs like he was having trouble standing.
The Karni was curious, it had seen many murders in its lifetime, all gave it the same joy and then more whenever it came to kill the humans. It was going to kill the human regardless of their actions.
But something was... Off.
The first thing that caught the Grimm's attention was that, well, the man was nude. He wore no armour, no clothes, nothing. The only thing it could see was strange dust tattoos on it's back that resembled a bear. The Karni did recall incidents of when it killed humans that were in the middle of copulation, and their flesh had a strange taste that made its head throb. However something about this scene was just off-putting, and the Karni had no idea what it was.
But it was a human right? It could taste the negative emotions just pouring from the man, it was surprised none of its kin had joined it yet.
A sickening crunch echoed through the alley, as the man had raised his foot and immediately crushed the corpse's skull with much of his strength. The Karni hesitated, however, it moved ever so closer in the shadows, knowing that it had the full advantage if it did a successful sneak attack. The human would never stand a chance despite its strength, as it would easily crush its throat with its fangs.
It paused, waiting to see if the human would drop its guard any further.
And when the human bent down to further mutilate the corpse-
It struck.
And that was the last time the Karni would truly live.
Beacon Academy, a marvel to humanity on one of it's four major hunting academy's. Many young hunters and huntress's come to become heroes to fight against the never-ending swarms of Grimm that have Remnant firmly grasped within its maw, many succeed and are sent out into the world with eyes of grandeur and determination. And of course, since this was Beacon, many of those who survive and graduate are quite strong and wise.
It was truly one of the best hunting academies around.
And who led this academy, you may ask?
Well, it was Ozpin of course.
A man with immense power and a past of misfortune and regret, some caused by his negligence and ignorance while the rest was caused by events he never even wanted. Even to this day, he continued down the road like this, educating students to make sure they never follow the path he did, whilst never following his own advice, destined to fall down a spiral of mistakes and destruction wrecked by his own negligence.
Well, that's what some people theorised about him anyway.
The man was very secretive about his past, not many people actually knew him that well and those that did hold their tongue least they seek annihilation from the game master of chess himself. He was a fine man.
Well, there were in fact, some people who knew about him.
And he was meeting one of them now.
"Record?"
"Hello, Ozpin."
And in front of this man was none other than Record. Holding a small silver case and a bag of high-quality coffee beans as well as cocoa beans, walking up to his desk with a strangely happy and smug look on her face.
The woman bowed at him with a smile on her face. "I see you're alone, no Glynda to bother you and no coffee mugs to throw at me. And has General Ironwood arrived yet?"
"James was supposed to visit me about important matters, however, something held him up and now it's delayed. Glynda is currently dealing with another food fight as well as keeping an account on the other academy transfers. And...I've never thrown a single cup in my life."
"Which one?"
Ozpin just barely cracked a smile.
"So!" Record began, walking over to sit in the empty chair in front of his desk and planting the bags on the desk. "I suppose you are wondering about the whole Blessed Grimm situation and about our special guest, Purity-01, right?"
Purity-01?
"Yes. Let's start with these Blessed Grimm." Ozpin frowned. "Why hasn't the whole anomaly situation been fixed yet, I thought you said that-"
"I know, I know! I said the anomaly would be fixed before Purity-01 would arrive. However due to staffing issues and... Other, things. The Blessed Grimm cannot be deleted just yet. Plus, because the anomaly itself is small in numbers, it's currently the least of their concerns due to the Purity Project being in full force as well as The Creator giving us a new objective. So you'll have to fight them off for just a bit longer."
The Purity Project... He's heard that name a few times before, but he was never given any information on it.
Well, as long as it didn't involve his students, he would continue not knowing.
"...We received news that a large portion of Mantle was destroyed by Blessed Grimm yesterday," Ozpin said gravely. "And large swarms of Grimm are still swarming around the larger settlements of Atlas itself."
"Oh. I'm so sorry." Record gave a noise of fake concern, her face becoming stern. "Like I said. I can't do anything, ANYTHING, about these Grimm. So your guilt-tripping games will not work on me regardless even if I gave a damn."
"James is at his wits end about the situation-"
"Why can't he go back then and assist his home?"
"He can't. Not right now when we are also in danger."
"Even though he forsakes his own home?" Record held up her hand for him to stop talking. "Alright, I don't want to keep arguing but, I can't do anything about the situation itself, but I can at least eliminate the Blessed in the area to put down the heat. Would that put some pressure off your mind Ozpin?"
"Please."
She says she couldn't do anything. But perhaps killing a single Grimm was the most she was allowed to interfere.
"Even though Atlas is on the highest point of the hierarchy in terms of technology, I do suppose if even Atlas tech fails then that would mean humanity as a whole would have no chance." Record hummed. "So, I suppose you want to know about Purity-01 right now? Why she's teaming up with Salem and not you?"
Ozpin nodded.
"Simple really. Because Salem has a connection to her dead mother and therefore shares a form of kinship with Purity-01. Basically, the purification progress will further much faster than if she was with your group. Plus... She has very severe anger issues."
'Even though therapy is the best solution, mass murder isn't.' Record thought to herself. Why was her creator so... Psychopathic?
Maybe it had something to do with what's hidden in her memory?
"I understand, however by teaming up with Salem, she, therefore, forsakes humanity and I won't hesitate to kill her myself if she attacks any of my students, nor will I show mercy if she attacks Vale."
"Understandable. If she dies, then it's back to the reincarnation cycle she goes, she'll be sent to another world to restart the process again and will no longer be in your hair." Record shrugged. "It's not too much of a bother to me to do so, however, Salem will not be pleased. And to be honest, neither will I. But you can't even find Salem's hideout or literally anyone from her council, so I doubt you can find her that easily. Oh, and before you ask, Salem is doing fine and she says hi."
Ozpin said nothing, taking a sip from his cup.
"Oh yeah, you also have no idea what she looks like nor her abilities, speaking of the abilities of which I'm actually supposed to go over with you as per the agreement." Record took out a thin book and pushed it towards Ozpin. "Basic details, nothing too much but it should give you a basic idea on what she has. I also gave her a basic rundown as well as some notes on what's happening regarding her situation. As well as some special skills."
"What exactly did you give her?" Ozpin asked, opening the book and began to read.
Record patted her lower lip with her index finger as she hummed. "I believe some stuff to do with entomancy, blood and a roll? I didn't actually do a proper check, we had merely given her a random generation based on the results she had entered previously and the short quiz that was given to her."
"Insect based magic?"
Entomancy was a rather unique first. Then... Blood Magic?
"Didn't you also give her some special privileges?" Ozpin asked, mentally taking notes.
"Yeah, the blood magic thing was definitely one of them. The rest was basic magic books as well. That's all I've given her to start off with. Usually, when it comes to reincarnators, I can only give them so much, but as mentioned before, she gets special gifts. "
"I see. Magic as well..." Ozpin acknowledged, continuing to read down the file, saying nothing until he stopped at a particular term. "And what of this... Atma Virus?"
"That... Is a special thing, which is classified."
"Record. Please-"
"Ozpin. Listen. I was just barely allowed to tell you and Salem about this. Any more and I'll be-" Record slid her finger across her throat. "Understand?" Record pulled out a notepad, taking out a pen and mumbling to herself- "Speaking of an untimely demise. Better fix the bug before Purity-01 drowns in cheat items."
"Cheat items?"
"We were testing out the system and we were testing something involving inventory and storing specific classes of items. We used 14910 items for testing, all of which we forgot to empty. There's a particular bug involving said inventory which empties everything inside into the outside world. So if the bug was to happen while Casca is looking around... You get the picture."
"She will still have the cheat items?"
"Oh no. That's locked away in an admin only inventory, which the bug will ignore." Record paused, tapping the front of her notepad with her pen. "Actually... Now that I think about it, are the Relics sealed-"
The whirring of the elevator caught their attention, and Record cut herself off as the elevator behind them dinged and the doors opened.
"Ozpin!"
Glynda Goodwitch came through the elevator doors with a stern look on her face and urgency in her steps, only to stop when she noticed Record on the chair, casually sipping a cup of her coffee, the pad and pen gone from sight. Glynda opened her mouth, about to ask before she shook her head and looked at Ozpin. "Ozpin, we need your help, the Vale port is under attack by an unusually large amount Grimm."
"What? How did they get past the defences that easily?"
Record quietly sighed to herself, putting down her cup on the desk. "Well then, guess that's my cue to leave then-"
"Record."
"..."
"Ozpin, I know this is an extremely important matter, but who is this?"
"She's... An acquaintance of mine, visiting from Mistral on important business."
"Now being interrupted by a flipping Grimm attack." Record almost scoffed, quickly going alongside the story. "If it's at the docks, is it by fish Grimm or a sea dragon?"
Glynda said nothing, taking out a scroll which was currently on some sort of news app, with the volume turned up she placed it on the desk, causing a large holographic projection of the video to appear above them.
"This is a message to everyone in the commercial district and the outer areas in Vale, the area is under immediate evacuation due to Grimm attacks from hundreds of Karni swarming through the district roads. Everyone must evacuate as quickly as possible and keep calm, head towards your designated evacuation points as the huntsmen will-"
The reporter paused for a moment, looking at a notification on her desk causing her expression to turn grave.
"It's been reported that there are Blessed Grimm in the commercial district, I repeat, there is Blessed Grimm in the commercial district and is heading further in-"
"...Well, I did say I would help." Record mumbled to herself. She stood from her chair and began to head back to the elevator with her suitcase in hand. "Alright! Ozzy! Do me a massive favour and call off all of the huntsmen in the area and get them to focus on evacuating the citizens and pushing back Grimm forces, I'll deal with the big guys myself."
"Yourself?"
Glynda looked stupified by her statement.
"You don't need help?"
"Nope, besides I need some privacy so I can take better notes on what is causing this whole thing. Plus I kinda need to, you know, analyse it, so..."
Ah, analyse. The Blessed Grimm would be quickly taken out of the picture.
Glynda, about to try and scold her, was suddenly stopped by Ozpin.
"Glynda, she'll be fine. She's a very strong... Huntress." He almost struggled to find the right word, which Glynda seemed to have noticed as she narrowed her eyes in suspicion at him. "Please, can you assist the civilians on escaping the Grimm?"
Her eyes were glued onto Record, who merely smiled as the elevator door closed. Her suspicions were high on alert, however, there were much more troubling things she had to deal with.
"...Very well." She nodded. "It is my job as a huntress. However if things are becoming too troublesome, do not blame me if your friend gets killed for it."
Well.
It was a good thing she was a Recorder then. However, he knew full well she was only going to take on the Blessed, she was going to leave the rest of the Grimm to him and everyone else.
Pressing a button on his desk, he spoke,
"Beacon Academy, this is Professor Ozpin speaking. Due to the recent Grimm attack in Vale, classes will be cancelled for the rest of the day. Third years who are not taking their practical's, report to Doctor Oobleck at the docking area-"
It stunk.
That was the very first thing Record had noted when she entered the district. It smelt like death and sulphur mixed into one, a stench that could knock someone out cold or even kill them. Small buildings were completely destroyed, while the larger skyscrapers only have holes and dents from forceful blows. It felt almost unnatural against the calm blue skies.
The port was in worse condition, the Blessed had only been there for a couple of minutes and the water was already polluted with green gunk, debris and corpses.
Record looked on at the destruction from the roof of a building, scanning everything around her with crimson eyes.
"High levels of toxic gas, destruction is high as expected, appears to be a largely negative force around here." She noted, pushing her finger against her ear, her glasses vanished and a visor with a light blue lens replaced it shortly after. "Hmm... No other Grimm for miles around. Strange."
There should be at least a dozen of Grimm heading towards Vale right now, but she couldn't detect a single signature from the outside.
Strange.
"Alright. Blessed Grimm should be somewhere nearby. I'll have to lock down the area and proceed with the protocol. Initiating scanners at 100% power, Transistor Core on standby... Initiating-"
"SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!"
"..?!"
The panicked voice from below startled her. There was a large man, larger than the average human with a lizards tail covering a small group of children no older than eight with his form as a swarm of Karni surrounded them. They were backed to the wall with no chance of escaping the bloodthirsty rats and the man was not strong enough to stop them from tearing into him and the children like a piranha to a piece of meat.
One of the smaller Karni leapt at him, only to be swatted away with a firm kick, instantly dispersing as it hit the wall. A few other Karni tested their luck, only to be swiped and kicked at by the large man. However, it didn't stop more Karni from appearing from the shadows to swiftly replace their fallen comrades. If left alone, they would be overwhelmed.
A terrible fate, especially for ones so young.
"...Ignore them, Record." Record told herself, uncertain. "It's not your job to help humans, only Purity- Only Casca."
So what if they died? They could easily be replaced in this world.
"Just go for the Blessed Grimm."
They were just humans.
"Just go-"
A scream.
"HULK!"
A larger Karni had gotten lucky, digging into tearing the man's arm up with its front fangs before being knocked off and crushed under his foot. However, it was clear his arm was now useless with his tendon torn up. A young child with a cartoonish lizard plush cried out and held onto his leg in fear. The Karni could easily swarm and kill them in seconds, but they were tasting the fear and indulging themselves in their negative emotions.
Just go.
Leave them.
They are just human.
"Remember, Record. It's your duty to help your subject through their journey. No matter what, never let those disgusting human emotions and heart overwhelm your willpower for your task."
...
No.
The old Casca would never have allowed that. The old child that created her all those years back would have made her love her enemies and help those around her. She couldn't disobey that, she couldn't sully Casca's remaining memories and... And even Salem's!
She clicked her tongue.
"Initiating combat mode, Gun Model #7!"
She'll be quick.
"E...Liz... Please, you have to go."
Hulk desperately tried to urge the children away, however, they all refused to leave. Elizabeth clung to his leg harder still, crying her eyes out. Another Karni tried to go for the kill but was quickly struck with a book to the face.
"Hulk!" The girl sobbed. "Dun- Don't leave! A don't want to leave you!"
"Elizabeth!" A young boy tried to calm her down. "Sister please!"
"No! I won't, I won't!"
The book flew back at another Karni, crushing it before flying back to the third child. "We need to find help, please, Elizabeth, Hulk can't fight if you-"
"[Grimm: Acidic Mists]!"
The air around them suddenly felt moist, the Karni screeched backwards as if they were recoiling in pain and shock. Their fur and skin quickly eroded away, a terrible stench emitted from their dissolving bodies before they all dropped dead into a heap of mushy flesh in an agonised screech before they could truly register the threat.
Just like that, they were dead.
Like squashing an ant.
And Hulk collapsed onto his knees, exhaustion and pain overwhelming him quickly. The three children gathered close around him, clinging onto him and holding him up so he wouldn't collapse.
"Hulk! C'mon!" Elizabeth tried to lift him up but tried as the children might, he was far too heavy for the three of them combined. "The rats are dead, we're safe now!"
Hulk coughed and gagged, holding onto his arm to try and lessen the pain. With some struggle, he was finally able to stand up with their help on wobbling legs. He couldn't help but smile at them with happiness in his eyes. "Elizabeth, Margeret, Theodore. The three of you are such life saviours. I don't know what I would do without you."
And approval from their best friend Hulk made them so happy!
"Hehehe."
And Elizabeth looked so smug about it.
"Hulk." Margaret tugged at his shirt. "It's dangerous here. We need to leave."
"..."
Theodore looked up at the building in front of them, his eyes lying solely on one spot before squeaking as Elizabeth grabbed at his sides with no warning. The girl laughed. "C'mon, Theo! We need to leave!"
"O-Of course sister!"
He could have sworn that there was someone up there though...
But, there was no time to lose, they had to leave to safety now.
"Come on kids, Hulks gonna protect you all!"
And deep down, Hulk hoped he could uphold that promise.
For the children's sake.
"Dammit," She wasted time, she shouldn't have helped them. But if she didn't- "Where are you?!"
Damn her humanity.
Just after telling Ozpin she didn't care either.
She just lost the Blessed Grimm's signal, which should be impossible. How can anything avoid her scanners?
"Reloading scanners. Testing 1 2 3."
There was a road she found herself in, the road itself covered in large scratches and patches of dispersing fur. There were bodies scattered all around, a small amount considering what's happened, all of which were huntsmen.
'At least the civilian count is low. Bless your luck Ozpin.'
Record quickly found herself in an open area, covered in debris and blood. Decomposing bodies of dozens upon dozens of Karni piled up on the centre of it all and the air stunk, the stench from before was far worse than before and a thick black smog from the corpses made Record feel strange, made her walk up towards the pile and patiently waiting for the inevitable attack.
This was like, a typical arena for a boss fight. She's played exactly two games before and sure one of them was Dark Souls but the other one had, according to her data, pretty common cliche's for a game of its genre.
"Testing... Higher levels of toxic gas detected. Source located." She noted. "Chemical makeup..? Chlorine gas? But this-"
This wasn't right. The makeup was incredible to chlorine gas, but not quite. For one, it seemed incredibly flammable-
Sssssssnk!
Glass shrieked as sharp claws brushed against it.
Clack!
Plastic bending and folding from a large mass upon it.
"Beep! Blessed Grimm detected. Initiating Lockdown of area. Beep!"
Alright then.
...
"Lockdown secured."
"Initiating Combat Mode. Trapper Model #1."
Her suitcase shifted and changed shape, its parts moving and unlocking to reveal its new form of a mechanical bow and a red arrow. Her visor was now a helmet in the shape of a bird mask and leather shoulder pads rested comfortably and snuggly against her form.
"Activating transport unit."
"Unit will be transferred to the Junkyard anomaly unit. Confirmed?"
"Confirmed."
"Understood. Processing. Setting trap. Connecting transfer."
For a brief moment, the floor a few metres in front of her glowed.
She shouldn't need much power to capture one of the Blessed. This was all she needed.
Silence.
No sounds.
No plastic or shrieks.
But even so, she listened ever so carefully.
Clack.
Clack, clack.
Clack.
"Wh-Wheeeeerrrrreeeeee ARRrrrrreeee YOUuuuu?"
There it was, trembling out of the corner of a destroyed building.
A massive rat.
It was far too big to be a Karni, twice the size of a normal human and far too long. Its claws were far too big and hideously bent and its ragged hide was covered in bloated puss and blood, boils larger than her face twitched violently ready to burst and gaping wounds on its sides emitted a foul green poisonous smog. The ribcage jutted out from its skin dripping black and every time the Karni moved a loud 'clack' would ring out like a wind chime from the ribs.
And in the centre of its broken mask, a wide red, toothy grin had burned itself in place.
The orange was practically magma.
It was hideous, ugly and ever so foul.
However, while such a being would be difficult for a human, even for a dozen well-trained ones.
It would be easy to trap as a Recorder like her.
"GeeHeeEE?"
Its voice, unstable and childlike, garbled from the snout of the Blessed Karni.
"YoooUU?" It's neck cracked. "Reehh- Reehcoorrdd?"
...Huh?
Wait. What?
"...How do you know my name?"
Strange, even for an anomaly.
'I'm recording this."
Something wasn't right. It shouldn't know her name, even for an 'intelligent' Grimm. And the only people on Remnant that knew her name was Ozpin and Salem, perhaps Casca too but she was a special case. So how?
"M-Mashhster knows... ALLLllllL." It tried to snort, however, it choked instead, spitting out thick black sludge onto the floor. "ExistSss... inSidE of meee... Insideee aaaall those who fiiiight baaaaackkk."
"Your... Master?"
"O-oOur Maaasteeerrr." The Karni corrected. From the sludge came smaller, still normal Karni, swiftly swiped up and devoured by the Blessed before it was swallowed in a bloody pulp. "Stuupid! Youuu stupid, huuUUurts! HyyYYbriIid! Tooooo humAAAn. TOOooo aLLiIen. Fitttss noWheEeerrEe."
She almost crushed her bow under her grip.
"Maaasteeerr... SpeAKS! No FIGHT! SaLeM, foooOOoll. OzpIN, fooOOOoollll... KAMI... MahhsTeErr."
"..."
Huh?
"...K-Kami?"
That couldn't be right, no, that should be impossible!
"Girrlly! It TRue!" It had a giddy expression on its broken face. "NoO fiiiIIGhT! OnLY SpeeeeEAK! WisH noOOo trUe desTrucTion untiiIiL FaLL. PaSSiiiive." Truly, for a passive creature would never destroy a district of a massive city like this. Oh, wait. "PurITY will FaiL."
Purity.
Then it was true.
"How- How are you talking to me like this?" A good question. Blessed Grimm could talk, but it was never in incoherent sentences nor could they truly understand what they were actually saying. "You should be at least a blubbering mess."
"We arE BLEsseD."
Its form trembled as it started to crawl towards her. Black puddles formed all around it as well as patches of its moulted fur.
"BlesSED bY our KaMIiii. We DeFY alllL LoGIC..."
It smashed its head against the ground, its mask splintering into pieces against the concrete.
"NeeEver wiLl HumaaaaNITY save seLf!"
It clawed at its own flesh, digging past its skin to its muscle.
"SeeLF! NeVER obEY the MAStER hhheeehheeeEEE!"
Green and red sludged splattered against the floor, dispersing into a mist then into nothing. It collapsed, twitching all the while before screeching as its body was quickly covered in ropes of blue. Record immediately wasted no time shooting a red arrow into its side, digging deep into its side before it glowed-
"FallLL..." Its voice was scratchy, hoarse. "TruE FaLL..."
-And disappeared into its wounds in a glowing mist.
"Yoouu CAn'T... Escape... FAAAATE frOM FALL..."
...
"Subjugation complete."
"Alright. Send a Warning 10 to the Observers. Beginning Transportation."
She would find the answers she needed. It wouldn't take long to look into its memories at all, dissect its brain, see what made it tick, see where it's beloved master was hiding. Kami couldn't hide forever, no way would that trickster god exist anywhere except the room he belonged.
She had to warn Salem about Casca's safety, that was the most she could do right now.
(And she hated it.)
"ThE RaT GOd... SmILESS at yooour deeeniaal!"
No way would he hurt her Casca.
She wouldn't allow it.
"Ugh. She's still got that human connection? How gross."
"Smokey, don't be so rude."
"It's true though isn't it? She knows she's never going to fit in, but it doesn't mean she has to rub it in our face! It's disgusting, to be honest."
"I don't see how she's... Rubbing it in our face, however? She's on her mission and on her free time, she's allowed to do what she wishes."
"Ugh. I still hate it. Hypocritical bitch..."
"Nevermind that. Is the rest of them ready?"
"Purity-02 and Purity-03 are all ready..."
"You must be quite irritated, Purity-02 was supposed to be under your supervision but was changed at the last minute, no?"
"Gah, shut up Nurture."
"Very well..."
"..."
"..."
"Hey, Nurture? Didn't you say that Purity-02 was being sent to the old version of that Mythical Ark project thingie you were supposed to be working on before it was shut? Your little furry project?"
"Never call it a furry project again. And to answer your question, yes, Purity-02 is indeed going to be transported there shortly. However, it shall proceed as it should normally with the... Killing Game.
"F."
"..? Why were you asking?"
"No reason, just curious, is all. I should be going, my Observer is going to murder me if I'm late again. See-ya!"
"...Very well."
"That was over quickly."
Ozpin had watched the entire incident through his special cameras. He had expected for there to be an epic, gory battle that could end up in the city being damaged beyond recognition, with countless people dead and Grimm surrounding the city.
However, that wasn't the case.
The Blessed Karni had practically given up.
Just like that.
It was a Blessed Grimm, capable of mass destruction and leading hundreds upon hundreds of Grimm under its shadow to destroy and engulf everything under the powers of despair and darkness. Destroying villages, towns and small cities and leaving little to nothing behind. However it just... Gave up. Just like that.
It felt like a hollow victory, turning humanity into a laughing stock to the world.
However, that was a shallow way of thinking about it.
More people could live now.
But of course, they still had the Karni running wild in the city. It wouldn't take too long to exterminate them now with the huntsmen and technology they had at their disposal compared to many years back.
Everything was under control now.
They just had to act and wait for everything to finally calm down.
Beep!
..? He's just got a message from an unknown number, who-
'Hey, Ozzy! Forgot to mention, make sure to share with Glynda the coffee beans and make sure I said she looks lovely! Don't want to leave a bad impression after all! :) Also can you spread the news to your higher-ups that the Blessed Grimm is now gone?'
Well then.
He'll make sure to do that when she came back.
Hmm...
"Purity-01... I wonder, will your journey intertwine with Team RWBY? Will you change the destiny of Ruby Rose and her friends?"
If this Purity-01 ever dared to harm a single hair on his students, even if Ozpin had no idea who they were or what she looked like.
He will personally kill her himself.
"9504. 9508... 9764. 9768."
Ding!
[Arithmetic Calculation Processing] has levelled up! LVL: 10
The Alpha stared at her, irritated. Casca had been mumbling the multiples of 4 to herself for the past few minutes, progressively going faster as time went on and munching on the cocooned Beowolf on her back absentmindedly. Black smog exited her mouth, the terrible ashy taste made her want to gag. However, she was used to food like this.
Well, similar to this anyway.
She would never let Haru cook again. Those hands were made for one thing only ('Same as his mouth.' Casca added mentally with a perverted grin) and it certainly wasn't food. If he had been left to his own devices any longer he might as well cook food that acted like Grimm meat.

And [Grimm Attribute Resistence]?
Casca spotted a small Nevermore picking at its feathers on top of a stand, another one quickly joining.

Creature of Darkness: A creature designed to erase humanity and its creations from existence. They all have no soul, therefore produce no aura. They are drawn to negative emotions and will automatically attack humans and faunus on sight. As a soulless dark dweller, their luck cannot be raised above 10, and are naturally weak to the power of the {Maidens} and those who have {Silver Eyes}.
Grimm Assimilation: Grimm meat tastes foul, and not only that, humans tend not to eat them due to the fact they tend to become corrupted Grimm Husks and go wild when they consume their flesh, sometimes people are lucky and just have a destroyed sense of taste. Don't eat them.
"...Ohhhh..."
So at least she knew the reason why they tasted so foul.
Looks like she had to be careful with Grimm food from now on, eating when only necessary.
...
Munch, munch.
But damn it, she was still hungry!
Hey readers, it's been a tad while hasn't it, over a year now actually.
Sorry. I've been putting this project on hold for so long, things came up and last few years, I had gotten back into the Danganronpa series and therefore had been spending most of my time in 53 Lies and Counting and The Oddities of Life, the former being the most fun for me to write and the most challenging.
This also applies to Purity: LoveLUST, but that's Persona 5. :p
As mentioned up above, the main reason why I stopped this project was because of my diminishing interest in RWBY, I'm not that great of a writer in my opinion but lordy even I can keep the world-building consistent. To be honest, I planned on just scraping this project all together, however, I had a better idea and I didn't want to put everyone in the dirt again like last time. Right now I'm just gonna post this filler-like chapter and leave it for a bit and plan out the best way to write this.
So let's start with some quick notes.
While this is indeed a reboot, there will be some scenes from the original, albeit altered somewhat as they are plot essential (and according to the context) so I apologise about the repetitiveness about any of the scenes. Similar to skills, however, most of them from now on will be either different or altered somewhat.
And the time where I will ditch this project entirely.
I'm not stopping this. However I've come to a conclusion if this became a full-blown series, I would be an old lady before I would even finish it as writing about things I have no enjoyment or love in will cause me great stress and tire me out. So I'm doing something a bit unique. I won't go into actual details until I get to that point where it's not full-on spoilers, however, I will continue until the end of Volume 3 in the timeline and Casca's story will continue elsewhere.
So, sorry about that. I don't want to leave you all completely in the dirt.
I do, however, have the next chapter in the works and should be released next week or the one after. And I'll ask you guys a super important question next chapter which will be answered via poll.
This, along with 53 Lies and Counting and LoveLUST are now apart of the Purity series I had been planning for a while now. I'll put some more details up at a later date.
But, I hope you enjoyed this chapter regardless. I'm sorry for the wait and I'm sorry about my diminishing interest and the rather lacklustre chapter. I'll see about updating my profile about what's going on later too. So please, as always, do review and such. I hope you all have a wonderful day/night and that your futures be full of fortune.
Ciao~
