"Do you ever think of me?"

Edward sat, staring blackly into space. All he could think of was Bella. Bella. And more Bella... It was almost six years since he left, She would be twenty four soon. Seven years older then he would ever be. She had probably moved on by now.

Alice's thoughts were too loud. She really wanted to seek out Bella. Edward rushed out of the house, passing Edward. Edward wouldn't go after Alice this time, if she went to find Bella. Bella was the first human to become friends with Alice and that truly touched her. It was terrible to part Alice from Bella, especially as if her visions had come true they would have been sisters...

He started the Volvo, the same one he had driven Bella to school in and kissed her in and... Sometimes he could almost smell her fushia scent or hear her voice and he felt happy. And then he'd remember that she wasn't there and he left her.

He began driving south, only stopping to but gas. He eventually remembered he had forgotten his cell phone and he hadn't told Carlisle where he was going. He still kept driving.

Bella and Charlotte returned to La Push just in time for Charlotte's nap time. She curled up in her bed, cuddled into the lion plushie Renee had bought her for her first birthday, Bella walked into the kitchen and began to prepare a light lunch for Jacob and herself. She took out two plates and began to make sandwiches.

As she cut them into quarters, Jacob stumbled slightly into the room and put his arms around her waist, burying his head into her shoulder. "Good morning Bella."

"Morning Jacob. Charlie and I were shopping in Port Angeles. There was a notice in the bookshop." Bella took a breath and leant back against Jacob. "It was for a job in the shop. So I put in an application. It'd be perfect! It'd give us the money to send Charlie to day care and more money for day to day expenses..."

"Bella, Bells, am I not the male in the family, am I not the provider in the family?" Jacob's arms began to tighten around Bella's waist.

"It'd just be a bit of extra money and just give me a bit of independence!" Bella began to struggle against his arms. "Jacob! That hur-! OUCH!" A loud crack was heard and Bella began to sob quietly.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Oh God, are you ok?" Jacob picked up Bella gently and brought her into their bedroom. He laid her on the bed and pressed his head into her neck. She could feel his tears, wet against her skin. "You can go for the job if you want. It'll be good for you."

A loud cry came from Charlotte's room. "I'll go into her." Jacob said quietly. "You lie quietly for a while. I'll come in later with your dinner."

Bella took a pillow and put it in front of her face and wondered what her life would be like with Edward rather then Jacob.

Alice packed all her stuff into only four suitcases. It was a miracle. Even though this was only the stuff she was taking with her on holiday. All her stuff would need a removal van to take with them. Jasper had packed his suitcase earlier and was waiting for her in the car. They were going to stay in Port Angeles for a week and see could they find Bella.

She carried her cases downstairs easliy and put them into the car. Jasper got into the drivers seat and she sat beside him. "We're on our way Bella!" she called to the wind.
