COURAGE
Summary: After having some well-deserved relaxation on a hospitable planet, the crew are stunned when a set of explosions traps the captain and commander on the planet in danger, unable to help them as they too are under attack. Will they be able to fight off the attack and save the Captain and Commander?
CHAPTER 2
"Tuvok, I'm reading multiple explosions on the surface of the planet" Harry said looking up at the bridge crew with a worried expression on his face.
"An accident"
"No sir, it looks like they are explosive devices, sir, the area where the captain and the commander were has been destroyed" Harry's lost expression said it all.
Tuvok tapped his comm. badge.
"Tuvok to Captain Janeway" the silence was deafening.
"Captain please respond, Tuvok to Chakotay" Tom turned around from the helm and looked at Harry, all of the bridge crew were holding their breaths.
"Ensign Kim, run a sensor sweep and beam any survivors directly to sick bay, Bridge to the Doctor"
"Sickbay here" The doctor said.
"Doctor there has been an attacked on the planet, multiple casualties are expected including the captain and commander, as soon as we can locate them"
"I will be ready"
The ship rocked violently as explosions were set off all over the ship. The doctor disappeared from the screen as though he'd been deactivated.
"Report" Tuvok shouted.
"We have multiple explosions all over the ship, key systems are going off line, transporters, comm.'s, warp drive, EMH and sensors are all off line" Seven looked at Harry as he read out the damage.
"It is plausible to assume that we are under attack," she said in her understated tone.
"I concur, arm yourselves and set red alert" Tuvok said and issued out phaser's.
"Under attack from who" Tom said.
The small ship underneath was underneath Voyager quickly after the explosions had gone off.
"Great work Kunit, they have no sensors and don't even know that we are here, dock with the ship and lets make it ours, this will be a glorious day for the Grantham's" They all cheered onboard the little ship. They moved into position and docked with voyager and opened the hatch.
"Don't kill them as we will need their help to run the ship till we get the systems understood properly, just wing them if you have to"
They opened Voyagers hatch and alarms sounded.
"INTRUDER ALERT, INTRUDER ALERT"
"At least they can not find us with their sensors"
The fifteen men moved quickly through the hallways of the ship.
"We need to head for the bridge as quickly as possible" They rounded a corner and were greeted by two crewmembers.
"Who are you?" they said. The armed team shot them in their legs and continued on their way.
"Engineering, we should stop here," said one of the attackers.
B'Elanna was on the top level of engineering trying to fix a conduit.
"Okay Carey try it again" when he activated it, it blew up straight away.
"Dammit, okay lets try" she stopped when she saw the armed men enter engineering.
"Everyone down on the floor NOW, Kunit get up there and get those people down here" The man ran up the stairs and headed for B'Elanna.
"You two move, come on move it"
"Who are you" She asked him raising her hands but didn't move.
"Shut up and move"
"I am the chief engineer, I'm in charge in here, leave my crew alone and I will come with you and help you"
"Pulnit we have the chief engineer here, shall I bring her with us" as Kunit's back was turned to get his answer B'Elanna punched him in the stomach and grabbed the gun. Carey jumped in to help her but was hit in the face with the butt of the gun. Pulnit saw the struggle and took careful aim and fired. Their crude weapons resembled old style guns and the bullet hit B'Elanna in the shoulder, the force of it caused her to loose her balance and she tipped over the railing and landed hard on the floor below. Blood came out quickly from the back of her head.
"Dammit, I didn't mean to kill her" he said as he walked over to her lifeless body.
Carey watched in shock.
"Kunit, bring that one down, tie them all up, you two stay here and guard them"
"Mr Paris, Ensign Kim and Seven your with me, we need to get to engineering and help B'Elanna with repairs, Lieutenant you have the bridge" They left in the turbo lift for engineering.
When the doors opened on that deck they were immediately shot at. Seven took a bullet in the stomach.
"Computer lock turbo lift doors" Tuvok shouted and turned to Seven who was sliding down the wall.
"Seven, my god" Harry said as he put his hand on the leaking wound.
"I am fine," she said in her usual brisk manner, but the gasp of pain that she let out let them all know that she was in a bad way.
"On three we will open the doors and I suggest that you and Mr Kim fire a wide burst at the attackers, that should take out a few of them enough for us to leave the lift and fight from a better position"
"What about Seven" Harry said looking at his pale friend.
"I will remain here alone, you must secure the ship, my well being is irrelevant, the captain needs us," she said bravely.
"One, two, three, computer open doors" the doors opened and Harry and Tom fired their weapons. Three of the men fell instantly and the others retreated back a bit around the corner.
"Ensign, stay here with Seven, we will continue" Harry nodded.
"That is not necessary," Seven said in a strained voice.
"I'm not leaving you alone Seven" Harry said and she noticed the determined look on her friends face.
"Very well"
Tom and Tuvok carefully walked up to the three unconscious men on the floor.
"Who the hell are these people?" Tuvok restrained them and they carried them quickly to a locker room.
"Computer seal this door security override Tuvok Alpha, Beta, 2343"
"Confirmed," said the computer
"That should hold them"
"How did they do that, take out three of our men in one go?" said the Grantham's as they retreated into engineering.
"We will make our stand here" Pulnit said and waited for the doors to open.
Seven shifted uncomfortably against the wall and Harry helped her to lie down.
"It's best if you keep as still as possible Seven" He had put as much pressure on the wound as he dared. He could tell that she was in pain but was trying to hide it as best as she could.
"I will be fine ensign," she said quickly. Then gasped in pain and grabbed for Harry's hand.
"Don't worry you will be back to your normal Borg self within no time"
"If I recall, the EMH has been damaged, and there are no other qualified doctors on Voyager"
"Well, yes I suppose that's true but it wont take B'Elanna long to get the doc back up and running"
Tuvok met up with some of his security staff and they decided to converge on Engineering.
The doors opened and they were greeted with the sight of the engineering staff on their knees with their hands tied in front of them. Tom couldn't see B'Elanna. Tuvok didn't enter engineering they were standing outside the doors.
"Drop your weapons or we will shoot all these hostages," shouted Pulnit as he grabbed Carey and put the gun to his head.
"No one has to be hurt, if you surrender yourselves to us we will treat you fairly and place you in our brig" Pulnit laughed.
"I don't think you appreciate your situation, we have already killed one of your staff, your chief engineer and this ones next if you don't do as we say" Tom's heart dropped and he felt like he was about to pass out. He looked around the corner to see her then his eyes fell on her still frame lying on the floor.
"B'Elanna" he whispered.
