It's me again, and here is the 2nd chapter fellas )
I gotta tell though, writing this fanfic really soothes my soul, sometimes creativity can be suffocating!

Disclaiming again: I do not own any character of AtLA, plus, god bless Mike&Bryan xD

Chapter 1 : A New Companion

Day rose brightly and gracefully upon The Northern Water Tribe, though night has not been kind to them.

After the siege, many water tribesmen were killed, leaving the tribe in a sorry state as Master Pakku and some fellow tribesmen were going to travel to the Southern Tribe to rebuild the former glory of their sister tribe.

Many people's lives had been outlifted by the Fire Navy, some losing their sons and fathers to the Fire Nation, some full of grief because of the lives of the dead they could have saved, but there were few of them.

Unfortunately, Kaidu, "The Serpent", was among them.

"In my dream, I saw a beautiful and brave young woman becoming the moon spirit itself...I knew this day would come" Chief Arnook stated as he talked to Sokka.

"You must be proud" said Sokka, upset about being unable to save Yue.

"So proud... and so sad." Arnook said, happy about his daughter becoming the moon, but sad, about never seeing her grow up and be happy, be with him, be a family...

Remember, however much we know that those who we lost, those we loved, still live in our hearts and thoughts, we can't help missing them, so much that it hurts.

Kaidu breathe heavily as he walked towards the Avatar and Chief. They seemed to talk about their departure, and they were both throwing concerned looks towards him.

He was told stories about the Airbender Avatar who was thought to be dead, until he was seen at their very doorstep, coming here to learn waterbending.

Though he didn't know why he disappeared for a 100 years, he wasn't going to go mad at him without knowing the reason, like some people would. "He looks like just a goofy kid!... Then how come does he stood this much young for a 100 years?" Kaidu asked himself.

He remembered the moment when Avatar become one with the ocean spirit. He was scary, and glorious at there, just like he become one with the serpent...

Arnook looked quite happy about Kaidu, even though he felt like a stranger, even to his family. The moment he "transformed", seemed to change his life forever. "Hatred breeds hatred, then why am I so much willing to kill that bastard?" He asked himself.

"Kaidu, it is good that you've joined us. I was just about to start talking about you." Arnook said.

"About what?" Aang asked.

Kaidu looked towards Avatar with piercing looks. Unlike the Water Tribesmen, his eyes were completely black, something considered as a bad omen by them.

"Soooo, you are the Avatar...hmm, it's hard to meet someone as legendary as you, even in a lifetime. It's an honor to meet you, and I must say that without you, I would have been dead, along with this entire tribe" Kaidu's eyes sunk deep when he remembered the unnecesarry deaths and blood that was spilled for a piece of ice.

"Thanks Kaidu," Aang smiled "And please call me Aang, as I heard that you would be traveling along with us from now on." Aang's eyes widened.

"WHAT?" Kaidu almost screamed, thrilled and angry at the same time, for traveling with the avatar, and for not being informed.

"Maybe they are trying to exile me...after what happened to me during the battle..." Kaidu thought.

"Kaidu, we think that with the...gift.. you have earned during the siege, and with your prodigal talent at waterbending, you may yet prove to be an asset to the Avatar. Plus, you have nothing to do around here as Taelin..."

"Don't finish that sentence, sir. Please.." Kaidu looked with begging eyes to the Chief with eyes full of tears. "It's suprising to see how a death can change a life broadly" Arnook thought.

"What? What happened? Kaidu, are you okay?" Aang asked.

"No, actually, but as we can use some positive attitude around here, I guess I am." Kaidu said with a forced smile upon Aang.

"Y'know, if you ever feel to talk about it, feel free to. We're all a family from now on." Aang smiled.

"By the looks of you, I guess it would be actually you who would need to talk to me. And thanks, cuz you are quite wise for someone who lived for a 100 years in an iceberg." Kaidu joked.

"Bu...hey, who told you that?" Aang asked, shyly.

"Well let's see... who is the meat-head-and-ponytail-head-and-the-master-of-insticts?" Kaidu looked deeply into Aang.

"Wow, it's good that we have you, Kaidu. And don't forget to remind me to talk to Sokka about that incident." Aang joked and smiled.

"Hey, I would never miss such a fun" They both laughed and headed to Appa.

"Wow...by Jala!" Kaidu stated as he saw the ten-ton-flying-magical-bison Sokka told to him, while they were preparing for a secret mission that Arnook gave them. A common point they had was they both loved seal jerky and they both hated Hahn.

Flashback

"What did you say, little orphan? You think I can't kick your ass just because you are a bender and you have no guts to fight me melee?" Hahn taunted Kaidu, while they were surrounded by their friends. They were obviously quick to take the scent of a fight.

Kaidu looked deep into his eyes, which intimidated him. He made ice daggers and threw them all above the floor, causing a terrible sound. Then he walked to Hahn real fast, which scared him even more. Then all of a sudden, Kaidu turned back and walked, during that without looking to his face, saying

"I think it is you who lack the guts to face me melee combat, and I pity you. I pity you that even though you try to intimidate me about Taelin, you don't even have the guts to gain the love of Yue. Yes, you are damn wrong if you think she likes you. I may be an orphan, and above all, I may be bloody poor, but at least I have a fianceé that loves me, and I'm not a spoiled rich brat, whose father marries his son to a princess just for political benefits."

Hahn breathe speedily and angrily as all of the warriors face looked stunned, along with Sokka's, to see that someone such as Kaidu had such nerves to speak to the Prince-to-be of the Northern Tribe. Then, without one more word, Kaidu got out of the barracks. Sokka followed then.

"Wow, I've never seen such a guy like you" Sokka said, as they both traveled to the battle grounds. "Aren't you afraid that he might do something bad to you or something?" Sokka asked.

Kaidu stopped."Hmph! Guys like him do always talk big, but do nothing. I meant it when he was a spoiled brat. People should be lookin' for themselves, not trusting for someone else to do it." he said as he started walking back to the battle grounds. "Plus, what can he do to me anyway? I've only my mother and father, and the love of my life, Taelin."

His eyes brightened. He always seemed so much happier than ever, even whenever he was angry, he would calm down by just remembering her. "We don't have any belongings that he can overtake, and he'd be dead before he even slips to the thought of hurting Taelin." Then his eyes narrowed, like a tigerdillo ready to protect everything it has. "By the way, name's Kaidu. 16 year old and damn yeah I have black eyes." Kaidu joked.

"I don't care actually" Sokka said. "My name is Sokka" he said. "Nice to meet you, Kaidu" he said.

"Hey, likewise buddy" Kaidu said. "Aw man, I really could use some seal jerky right now, my sea of chi wants to be fille with plenty of those."

"Heey, now you're talking" Sokka smiled. "Come, I'll order us some." Sokka said and they both went to the Igloo Tavern.

Flashback End

"Hey Aang" Katara said as the two walked towards her. "Hey Katara, this is Kaidu and guess what, he is traveling with us from now on!" Aang stated with happiness.

"Really? That's cool!" Katara said with joy. "Plus, I'm not a complete master yet, two teachers will teach better than one" Katara said. Kaidu smiled.

"Hey Kaidu, buddy, nice to see ya" Sokka said as Kaidu and Sokka hugged each other. Though it was quite "breathtaking" for Sokka as he was becoming nearly breathless when he got one of those "Bear Hugs" from him.

"Hey, was your nickname Bear or something? You nearly damn suffocated me right now" Sokka asked while striving to breathe.

"Actually, it was!" Kaidu laughed. "Well it was, until... aw man whatever. So, is this..err... the ten ton magical flying bison?" Kaidu asked.

"The one and only" Aang intrduced proudly "Appa, this is Kaidu, Kaidu, this is Appa. Enjoy each other!" He said as Appa licked Kaidu, leaving him half soaked with saliva.

"Well, looks like it's time to leave. Let's get going already, the earthbenders can't wait" Master Pakku approached them, not forgetting to throw a bad look to Kaidu.

"Aw please, give me a break Jala" thought Kaidu, while cleaning himself with water.

"Sure, Master. Let's go." Katara said.

"Alright then, for the first time flyers, hang on tight! Appa, yip yip!" Aang shouted as the bison started flying, and the water tribe ships began rowing towards the earth kingdom.

"You're lucky Kaidu. The first time Aang said that to us, Appa was too tired and he couldn't fly" Katara said.

"Well, I guess you're lucky, 'cuz as a first-time-flyer, I'm about to puke!" Kaidu said sickly as the others laughed.

Wow, that was sure a long chapter. Though it took me an hour to write it.
