Invigoration
Chapter Two: Switch

He growled low again as he furiously pumped into his hand, his calloused palm creating new kinds of tingling sensations as he pleased himself. He closed his eyes and savored the feelings building within himself, desperately wanting a release, wanting a miko below him. But he found solace in telling himself that everything comes in good time. He shut his eyes more tightly as he neared his climax, his hand encircling himself harder than before. "Oh Gods..." he gasped to himself and tilted his head backward, his breathing shallowing. Her face entered his mind again; that damn demon slayer. The way the water trickled across her skin, how her hands danced over her body... it was too much.

A feral noise tore from him as he released, his seed spilling to the ground and covering the fallen leaves that surrounded his feet. Another low growl signified his intense orgasm while he continued to empty himself, and once he was finished, he reluctantly let go of his now flaccid member and plopped down to sit on the dry section of the grass. He lifted his eyes to the sky and stared at the celestial lights. He was still in awe at what he was just done; but he couldn't walk around in his condition. "I'm so confused," he whispered to himself. He ran his hands through his hair. "I need time to figure everything out. This is going to haunt me until I do."

He rose to his feet and took a moment to stretch his limbs, he felt much better now that he physically released some of his tension. Unfortunately, not enough. He shook his head to clear the offending thoughts and disappeared into the trees, leaving a stir of leaves behind him.

"Are you sure this is the right direction?" Kagome asked the grumbling hanyou she was currently following on her bicycle. She squinted into the morning sun.

"I said that the town is this way, so obviously I'm sure," he told her, not even bothering to look over his shoulder. "Why don't you just shut up and you'll see when we get there."

"What did you just say?" Kagome started to say but a cloud of dust cut off her words.

Once the dirt settled, the smiling face of Kouga appeared. "Hey, my love."

Kagome could only look dumbfounded when she saw him; it had been a while since he last tried to 'steal' her from Inuyasha. Frankly, she was surprised to see him. "Oh... hello Kouga. What do you need?"

"Actually, it's you that I need," he told her, venturing closer and taking her hands in his. "I don't plan on leaving until you decide to go with me."

"Well, you are going home disappointed because she's not going anywhere," Inuyasha interjected, stepping between them. "So you might as well leave right now."

Kouga scoffed at the hanyou's declaration. "We'll see."

Inuyasha grinned. "Is that a challenge?"

"That's exactly what it is. I'm tired of you, mutt, and I think it's time to eliminate you right now."

The two demons were now nose-to-nose, exchanging growls and threats, and Kagome sighed in uneasy anticipation. "Will you two knock it off? It's a little too early to be fighting."

"Well, as soon at this damn wolf makes himself disappear, then I won't have a problem," Inuyasha said, continuing to stare into Kouga's face. He balled his hands into fists and stepped back to give his enemy a punch in the face when a loud screeching noise echoed into the air.

Pointing almost directly overhead, Sango called, "bird demons! Maybe we should worry about that before you continue to argue."

Both demon males followed her extended finger to a flock of black bird demons, circling above them with their sharp talons glinting in the sunlight. "She's right," Miroku agreed, reaching into one of his sleeves for a thin stack of sutras. "Your fight will have to wait."

Inuyasha drew his Tetsusaiga and Sango summoned Kirara into her larger frame as Kouga only watched. Most specifically, he observed the clothed lithe body of the demon slayer as she climbed upon the back of the cat demon and unhooked the strap of her large weapon. He gazed as her small but quick hands began to spin the giant boomerang over her head as her companion leapt from the ground. His bright blue eyes followed her into the sky as his mouth dropped as she threw the weapon with ease, sending it hurtling through the air with an admirable spin, until it sliced through the wings of the unfortunate birds who happened to be in the way. He marveled as the Hiraikotsu came swirling back and she caught it without even looking, her eyes searching for the next enemy for which to launch her weapon upon. She found one and swung it again, clonking the nearest demon on the head and knocking it out cold, leaving it plummeting to the ground.

He couldn't move while he watched her, skillfully manuvering between the flying birds, avoiding being impaled by their piercing talons. He had never seen anything like it, especially from a human woman, and he was truly amazed. But in the back of his mind, a voice told him to look at Kagome. The voice was convinced that she was doing something equally as amazing or even more. He ripped his attention from the demon slayer and scanned the clearing for his miko. It took him a moment, but he did find her... hiding in a tree. She was peeking around the protruding branches and watching the fight, a worried expression on her face. The wolf was speechless; his brave Kagome was cloaking herself with leaves instead of fighting beside her friends. He had no idea.

By the time the realization set in, the team of Inuyasha and Sango finished off the high flying birds and Miroku took care of the ones that fell to the ground. Kouga willfully turned away from Kagome and back to the demon slayer as she dismounted the cat demon and it shrunk back to its kitten size. His eyes widened at the sight of her face; blood splattered it. However, through all of this, she never seemed to notice him flat-out watching her. "I'm going to the stream to wash this off of my face," she told Inuyasha, taking a moment to lean her weapon against a nearby tree. "I'll be right back."

She strode into the trees, and Kouga noticed that not one pair of eyes other than his watched her leave. So, he decided to follow her. He slunk in between the vegetation behind her, and thought he heard his name in the form of someone asking where he went. "Hell if I care. Damned wolf probably went home." Inuyasha's answer no doubt.

He walked after her, making no effort to hide himself. He knew that she was aware of him being there, but what surprised him the most was that she did not try to defend herself against him. In fact, she did not seem to be the least bit worried that a demon was almost directly behind her and she had no immediate weapon in her hand.

They reached the cool stream and she knelt next to it, dipping her hand into the rushing water. She swirled her hand around for a moment before plunging a second hand into the water. She cupped them together and used her human 'bowl' to splash water onto her face. She engaged in a quick scrubbing session with her palms as she tried to rid her skin of the offending liquid. When she was satisfied, she promptly lifted her face to the sun, eyes closed, while drying her hands on her slayer outfit.

He studied her as she moved her hands about in the water and over her face, and he still couldn't fathom this woman's strength in comparison to his Kagome. Her small hands looked smooth but firm and yet could yield such an extraordinary weapon such as hers. And with such efficiency and ease; he was still having trouble believing it even though he witnessed the very feat. And furthermore, she did not see him as enough of a threat to even attempt to protect herself against him. It was eating him up and he decided to ask her about it, only that she spoke first.

"Why did you follow me?"

His eyebrows shot up at her question, which was asked with her eyes still closed and stray droplets of water draining down her exposed neck. He hadn't planned on answering a question such as that one, and had to think of a reply. "I really don't know."

She opened an eye and scanned him over, knitting her brows together in silent thought. His answer apparently wasn't sufficient enough fot her, she wanted more. "Well, I figured that you'd be here to see Kagome like you usually are. However, I noticed that you spent most of your time watching me."

He chuckled. Somehow, he wasn't surprised that she noticed. She seemed to be sharp by all indications, and her catching on to his not-to-subtle staring did not jar him. Though he did realize that he needed to be a little more discreet in the future. But right now, his concentration couldn't stray from the woman before him even it he willed it to. "You interest me."

She fully faced him now, a skeptical look residing on her face. It was clear she didn't understand him, or at least wasn't quite sure she heard him correctly. Just to make sure, she said, "I interest you?"

"Yes, you do." Another chuckle. He was currently entertained by her reaction.

"What does that mean?" she inquired, standing up. She shook her hands dry for a second, then looked at him. "Explain."

Becoming bolder and more sure in his decision, he took a step closer. He saw her tense up a little; she was on her guard now. But in attempt to ease her suspicions a bit, he held out his open hands to his sides, showing her that he meant no harm in approaching her. She didn't relax at all, but let him venture closer. Pushing his luck, he kept coming toward her until he stood right before her, only a few inches separating his chest from hers. Undoubtedly, he had never been this close to her before, and the new scent of her entered his nostrils and filled him with anticipation. She didn't smell as clean and fresh as his Kagome, but her scent of reached him as a feminine mix of sweat, confidence, and a speck of fear. And lilacs.

He cautiously rose a clawed hand to run his thumb lightly across her cheek, and grinned when her eyes shot open in blinding surprise. "What is your name?" he asked, lowering his deep voice to accomodate for their close proximity.

Her bright brown eyes gazed into his blue ones, and with a shaken voice, she answered, "My name is Sango."

He repeated her name, allowing it to roll around in his mouth, his tongue getting a feel for it as he said it again. "I like it. Somehow it seems to fit you."

She didn't answer as he moved his hand to cup her chin. Her utter shock of what was happening was radiating off of her, replacing her fear and pleasing him more. He wanted her to say something, and after a period of silence, she finally did. "I... thought you were here for Kagome. Why are you doing this to me?"

"I don't want Kagome anymore. I saw for myself that she is nothing compared to you... my dear Sango..."

Her shocked expression eased into one of questioning, and he could tell that she was not quite understanding all that was going on. And it also became clear to him that she was not versed in the department of being touched by a male. Everytime he moved his hand an inch against her face, her scent would spike and her heartbeat increase, then slow again. Still, she was composed enough to speak without a crack in her voice. "What did you see?"

"Her hiding and you fighting. You are a warrior, my lovely Sango. You are everything she is not. Everything that I want."

Once again she was silent, but this time, he wanted a response from her. He stood over her, one hand underneath her chin and the other by his side. He moved his free hand to wrap around her waist and draw her closer to him, surprising her into a gasp. An opportunity presented itself to him, and he took advantage. He kissed her, long and deep. His tongue wandered into her mouth, finding hers and coercing it to play. She complied, and closed her eyes as she enjoyed her first kiss. He was aware of this as well, and it dawned on him that he wanted to give her many things, a lot of them including her first sexual experiences. If he was lucky, he would be the only one fortunate enough to elicit moans and screams from her body, and he was willing to take his chances.

Deciding that they both needed air, he reluctantly broke their kiss, pulling his lips from hers. He saw that hers were slightly swollen, and her downward gaze told him that she couldn't possibly be angry at him for what just happened. Shyly, she looked up at him and gave him a tiny smile. "I don't think you ever kissed Kagome."

He grinned once more. "I haven't."

"Sango! Sango! Where are you? We're leaving now," Kagome's voice echoed through the trees. She was coming closer. Kouga released Sango from his grasp and she turned over her shoulder to watch Kagome enter the clearing. "Oh, I found you. Inuyasha sent me to come get you because we are about to leave."

"Okay," the demon slayer nodded, beginning to follow her friend back to their group. She heard her name called softly and she turned back to him while Kagome kept walking. "What?"

"I'll be back later tonight. Once all your friends are sleep. So make sure you stay awake, alright?"

She nodded and she smiled at him. "Alright."
