I stare down at the small white box in my hand. It had been in my pocket until a moment ago when i'd pulled it out after sitting on the Curtis' couch. Ponyboy sat beside me, staring at the screen. Two-bit sat on his other side while Steve and Dally sat on the floor. Darry and Soda were in the kitchen cleaning up the leftovers from dinner. A few minutes of silence passed, broken by the sound of the T.V. and the occasional clink of dishes and utensils. Commercials came on and Pony turned to look at me, noticing the box in my hand.
"Hey Johnny, what's that?" His question drew the attention of the others in the room and I shrugged silently, a blush staining my cheeks. Two-bit noticed and a familiar, goofy grin appeared on his face.
"Aww, does Johnny have a secret admirer?" He made a kissy face towards me and Ponyboy smacked him on the back of the head before turning back to me.
"Why don't you open it?" I sigh quietly and continued to look at the box for a moment before deciding to get it over with. I opened it quickly and immediately saw the note that lay on top. Picking it up I unfolded it and started to read.

Violets are blue

I frowned and blushed before looking in the box. My eyes widen at what I see. Inside the box were a dozen hard candies. The expensive, cherry flavored ones i'd always wanted to try but had never been able to afford. A small smile found it's way onto my face as I excitedly unwrapped one and popped it into my mouth. I closed my eyes moaning quietly. They tasted better than I thought they would. A moment later I became aware of the quiet that had fallen. Opening my eyes I blush bright red when I see everyone, even Darry and Soda, staring at me. Two-bit broke the silence.
"Guess you really do have a secret admirer."
