I'm alive, who knew.

First I would like to say I'm extremely sorry for this major space in between chapters, and also to thank everyone who has reviewed, favorited, and followed as well as stuck by this story. I have recently gotten back inspiration for this story and future updates will come, I promise.

A few of you had hopes for a Bella/Klaus pairing. I'll admit the thought had crossed my mind when planning out this story but had originally come to the conclusion for this to be a Bella/Jeremy pairing – however, if you guys would like for this to be a Bella/Klaus story I'll be more than happy to give you what you want so leave me a comment with which pairing you like the most.

Disclaimer: I do not own Twilight or The Vampire Diaries.

Another Side of Me – Chapter 1

5 Days Later

Mystic Falls, Virginia

I had felt a change the moment I left Forks, it felt as though a heavy cloud was weighing my mind down and the closer I got to Mystic Falls, there worse it got, but now that I was here, it was practically unbearable. I pulled over near the school, thinking I just need some fresh air.

As soon as I stepped out of the car, I smelt it; blood. And suddenly I wasn't myself, it was as though a switch had been flipped inside of me. The scent led me behind the school, where two unsuspecting girls burst through the back doors, frantically looking around – who or what they were looking for, I didn't know – I needed blood, and nothing nor no one would get in my way.

"Bonnie!" One of the girls exclaimed when she saw me. They looked just like Katherine and Emily, but – no, it was impossible. I dismissed the thought, my need for blood too strong to think rationally at this point. I had barely taken two steps towards them when a splitting pain shot through my head and I fell to my knees screaming.

I felt a pair of arms wrap around me from behind, restraining me. "Bonnie, stop!" Damon shouted and the pain slowly disappeared. I struggled in Damon's arms, I didn't know anything anymore, and it was like I wasn't in control of my own body.

"Bella, stop. This isn't you." Damon whispered in my ear. "I know it's hard right now, but I need you to calm down. I will explain everything that happening but you need to get a hold of yourself." Seeing that while his words did have a small effect, it wasn't nearly enough to trust my actions, he quickly bit his wrist and held it up to my lips. It was enough to get me to calm down, he slowly released his grip on me and sanity made it's way back to me.

"Damon." I say quietly, my voice breaking. "I'm so sorry, I don't – what was that."

"This is why you had to come home. I'll explain everything when we get back to the house. We have blood bags, a shower with capabilities of running very hot and an extremely decent amount of alcohol."

"I'll take you up on all three of those offers." I sat with a small smile, despite my broken heart. I look towards the two girls who looked everything but content with my presence.

"You have no real reason to believe me but I promise I won't bite. I'm Bella, as Damon pointed out." I tell them before introducing myself, hoping that they will see the honesty behind my words. "And you're Bonnie, remind me not to piss you off in the future, that head thing is quite the defense technique." I look towards the other girl. "I'm sorry, I don't recall catching your name in all this chaos."

"I'm Elena." She told me.

"It's nice to meet. I'm sorry for trying to kill you a second ago. I really hope we can move past this."

She gives me a small smile and I took that as a sign of hope.

I stopped the car as I reached the house, grabbing my bag and jumping out.

"So, are you ever gonna tell me what the hell is going on, or am I to forever be left in the dark?" I ask Damon as I approach the house, Bonnie and Elena trailing behind us.

"Can we just get inside before you start pestering me with questions?" he smirks as he opens the door and we walk inside.

"Oh!" I exclaim in surprise as I come face to face with some who is most definitely not Stefan. "And who is this?"

"That's my brother." Elena says from behind me.

"Jeremy Gilbert." He says, holding out his hand for me to shake and I do so with a tiny smirk on my face.

"Isabella Salvatore. Pleasure to meet you. Are you staying?"

"Uh, no. I was just leaving."

"Shame. Well I hope to see you around, then." I say as he walks past me out the door. He looks back and smiles as he laughs and says, "Maybe."

"What are you doing?" Damon asks as we walk further into the house. "I'd rather not think about my little sister in any type of relationship."

"Well, too bad. Because I've recently come to the decision that I, Isabella Salvatore, will do whatever I want with whoever I want, because I am a free woman. For the past few years I've tried to abide by the humans human nature and I'm tired of it. I'm a vampire, I'm allowed to be free and wild and that's exactly what I want right now."

"That's it?"

"No, I also want those three things I was promised. Starting with that shower."

"Alright! I've showered, I've fed, now I'm getting some bourbon and I demand answers!" I say playfully as I jump on Stefan's lap. "Hello baby brother." I say as I kiss his cheek then get up to sit next to Damon and he hands me my drink.

Elena was on Stefan's right, Bonnie was next to her and some girl named Caroline was sitting on the arm of the couch they were on.

"It's a long story." Stefan cautions.

"I've got all the time in the world." I tell him with a smile.

"So, let me get this straight. Stefan's dating a Petrova doppelgänger, which is why she looks like Katherine, and one of her best friends is a Bennet witch which is why she resembles Emily, and somehow wolves are involved. All of which have to do with a moonstone and a curse which means these Originals are involved and an evil guy named Klaus who somehow has control over me though he refused to tell you anything until you got me to come back to Mystic Falls."

"I guess that's one way to put it." Stefan affirms. I finish what's left in my second glass, get up and walk over to bar. "I need another drink." I pour myself some more bourbon while shaking my head trying to process all this information.

"This Klaus guy must have told you something for you to call me back here."

"He mentioned something about your uncontrollable bloodlust." Damon taunted me.

"Was there anything off with your control?" Stefan asks.

"No, it was fine. More than fine, actually. Ate meat a little more on the raw side, just like Charlie likes, a blood bag every now and then. Other than that, I had no trouble at all."

"Then what was that at the school?"

"I don't know. I don't know what came over me. It's like I was losing more of my control the further I got away from Charlie's."

"Klaus suggested we get you home before you spiraled out of control." Stefan revealed, an underlined urgency in his voice.

"Besides the obvious, out of all the names you just mentioned, Elijah is the only one that even sounds vaguely familiar. I only have one question."

"Ask away." Damon says, putting his feet on the table and leaning back.

"Who's Klaus?"

A/N: Love it? Hate it? I know that I didn't really reveal many details in this chapter, but if I did, it would've ruined what I have planned for later chapters.
