Chapter 2: Plans
The entire group of friends, mostly those that were still alive, were at Bulma's house of Capsule Corp having a well-deserved rest. Gohan and Krillin were the only surviving fighters along with Goku, though the Earth-raised Saiyan wasn't around at the time.
"So what do we do now?" Master Roshi asked, though no one seemed to have an answer. Nearly everyone was still down-hearted by the death of the brave warriors. Krillin decided to give his opinion.
"Master, Vegeta said that Piccolo was an alien from planet Namek" The monk said, getting everyone's attention "So if that's true, then maybe there's another planet with Dragon Balls" the idea was good and it could work. But there was the substantial flaw that non of them knew where that planet was.
"But how do we go to that planet Krillin?" Gohan asked. The half Saiyan wanted to face-palm himself, because his mother was right behind him.
Goku was over flying the city, carrying Nappa's ship in a yellow energy bubble. His keen Saiyan hearing, however, heard something he had missed the year he was dead.
"NO AND NO! YOU ARE NOT GOING TO NAMEK!" Chichi's high-pitch mother voice was shaking the Capsule Corp house, even though she didn't have the power to even gather ki. Her son Gohan was looking right her in the eye, not backing down now.
"But mom, we have to bring back our friends" The half Saiyan kid replied to his human mother, who was incredibly frightening for someone who wasn't a fighter. The raven-haired woman was just going to answer again, when someone else talked now.
"Chichi enough!" Goku's mightier voice echoed. Nearly everyone was shocked by hearing someone stopping Chichi's rumble. The raven-haired woman turned around. There he was. Her husband standing tall and bare-chest at display. It had been an entire year without him. Hell she knew he was well-built because of fighting but after a year it seemed he was a giant.
If the full-blooded Saiyan had to say it, he had missed his wife. Even her bossing-around attitude. But now wasn't the time to argue. And one way or another, she would have to understand. Goku grabbed Chichi by the shoulders, forcing her to look up at him.
"Look Chichi. I know you want to be a good mother, but imposing yourself on our son is not the way to do so" The Earth Savior said to his surprised wife.
"Goku you don't understand" Chichi tried to say, but she couldn't hold her eyes up to him. Maybe because no one had ever stood up against her.
"No Chichi. You are the one who doesn't understand. Gohan is my son as much as yours, and fighting is printed on his gens. He will fight no matter what you order him to be. And trust me, he will not obey you that much if you boss him" Goku said, his voice sounding with a lot of logic for a man with no former education.
"Goku, I only want to our son to be a pediatrician" Nearly everyone sweat-dropped. Goku would have face-palmed if the situation wasn't so dire. His black eyes remained on his wife.
"Okay. Let me ask you this just one time, Why?" The raven-haired matriarch was eager to answer, but she couldn't. Why indeed.
"Figure as much" Goku said confident. The Saiyan was standing a feet taller and just an inch away from her. He grabbed her hands "I know if Gohan fights he will be exposed to dangers but that's part of life, Chichi. How can I know what is to be safe and comfortable if I hadn't experienced the fear and harsh of a battle?" Goku's logic shook everyone's mind. For a moment they feared the universe would implode by the sudden burst of knowledge and wisdom.
But nothing happened. The full-blooded Saiyan decided to press forward.
"Besides, why would you want Gohan to be a pediatrician?" Goku questioned Chichi's logic again "What does he gain from this?" The wordless woman remained even more wordless. She just couldn't answer. She had always wanted a famous son, but it was obvious that her son was much more eager to fight than studying. He had always tried to slick away when no one was watching him. Maybe a part of her just didn't want to admit it, but she once liked to fight. Fighting had been mostly to cause a good impression in her future husband but knowing Goku, it involved a lot more things than that.
The group remained silent a few more minutes, not knowing what to say. The blue-haired scientist coughed, bringing the attention to her figure.
"Well, now that Goku's here, what do we do about going to Namek?" Bulma asked.
"Well, Bulma, doesn't your father have any space ship that we can use?" Krillin suggested.
"He has a few, but it will be useless if we don't know where Namek is" The CapsuleCorp CEO replied, folding her arms thinking. Without them knowing, Goku had two fingers in his forehead, trying to mentally reach someone.
"Heard that King Kai?" The Saiyan said to apparent thin air.
"Loud and clear Goku!" The North Kai replied, his ominous voice taking everyone by surprise. Using his antenna, the galaxy overlooker tracked the planet Namek "Bingo. Translated into Earth coördinates, Namek is in the sector ninety-four zero five XY" Bulma started doing the maths in her super mind.
"But that's impossible!" the scientist woman yelled, her screech causing Goku and Gohan to cover their sensible super hearing.
"Why? Now we know where the planet is" Krillin said unaffected by the yell. The CapsuleCorp CEO could only shook her head.
"Krillin, even using our fastest ship, it would at least take us four thousand years to reach that place, And I only mean going there without coming back" Bulma said, taking everyone by surprise.
"Problem solved too" The Pure-blooded Earth Saiyan smiled as he ran outside for a minute, before carrying the oval ship on his shoulders without a trouble "I brought one of the ships Vegeta left. Why don't you study it?"
"Goku you are a genius!" Bulma hugged his friend, before inspecting the ship with her scientific sight "I can make it bigger sure. And maybe also put some training devices" The blue-haired scientific kept saying "If Goku is coming then it's better to have him doing something" The palm tree-haired Saiyan rubbed his head and smiled.
"I'm going" The half Saiyan Gohan said, his voice determined "I couldn't help the others when I should. I need to do something now"
"And me too" The bald monk said with a joking smile "Just like the old Dragon Ball hunting days"
"Alright, I think that's settled" The Saiyan said to the group.
"I'll take the ship to the lab. If I start now, I might finish in two weeks" Bulma said her plan.
"Hey Bulma, do you know anything about accelerating plants growth?" Goku's question took many back. It was really a bit out of the blue.
"Why the question?" Goku's long-time friend asked him.
"Because if you can, then we can have some Senzu Beans for the journey" The Saiyan replied.
"I think I can work something out" Bulma answered with a smile. If it was a technological challenge, then she was ready for one.
"Let's go guys!" Goku took Chichi on his arms, as Gohan and Krillin departed along towards Paozu.
Minutes later, Gohan and Krillin were outside the house, changing into new blue weighted clothes Goku gave them for training. They had two weeks so some sparring could do a lot of good.
The Full-blooded Saiyan was sitting in the couch, basking with a home-sick feeling. It had been a year since he last saw his hous after all. Everything was just as he remembered.
"You want something to eat?" Chichi asked his year-gone husband from the kitchen. Her replied never came when she was suddenly turned around, a set of lips on her own.
"Actually, that's not what I want from you" Goku whispered in her ear. The plate she had in her hands washing fell and shattered. Was he really asking what she was really thinking?
"Gohan, go and train!" Chichi yelled from the house window, closing it a second later. The human/Saiyan hybrid shrug his shoulders to the Turtle monk, confused.
"I sometimes don't understand mothers" Gohan said to Krillin, both heroes flying through the air towards the mountains.
"It's not mothers, kiddo. It's women in general" The bald monk said and sped up, followed by a confused half Saiyan.
Goku woke up after a nice 'reconnection' with his wife, who would sleep for a few more hours. Or maybe the entire day. Goku's power increase since the last time he was in bed with her was nearly staggering once considered. And Chichi would obviously take some time to adapt to it.
In less than a minute the Earth Saiyan was already dressed in his Gi. He took of in the air, flying at amazing speeds through the air. A few minutes later, the Saiyan descended to the ground. An amazing house stood tall, with four different buildings. Old childhood memories were brought to Goku's mind.
He shook his head as he walked forward through the narrowed corridors. A voice took him by surprise.
"Goku?" A woman's voice sounded behind the fighter. The woman in question, was sitting on a floating crystal sphere that allowed to see the future. She was dressed in a black attire, a lot of wrinkles in her face.
"Hey Baba. Long time no seen" The Saiyan smiled, making a small bow of respect.
"Don't tell me you died again" The floating woman face-palmed while Goku rubbed his head.
"Don't worry, not this time" The Saiyan said with mirth, before going serious "But I wanted to ask you something"
"Just because you saved the world it's going for free" The old witch said, causing the Saiyan to laugh. Old habits die hard, that was true. The Saiyan sat while Baba remained floating.
"I was wondering if you could train me" The Earth Saiyan said confident. The woman looked flabbergasted for a moment. She rubbed her ears, not realising if Goku was serious or not.
"Goku, that's just preposterous. I'm no fighter and I surely can't land a punch. Your powers and mine are very different, not only in nature but also in scale" The in-between worlds woman said.
"This time is not fighting" The Saiyan chimed in, causing a confused look on the witch. Goku not fighting? That wasn't normal "What can you tell me about your technique to create objects?" The woman widened her eyes, a little smile on her face.
