Chapter 2: A Rising Friendship
Saito held the sword in a fighting stance that only an experienced swordsman could do. Saito's pain had went away and he felt more comfortable, like he can fight more easily. Saito was surprised by this as well as Kazuko. "Hey my pain just went away, like I can fight with no problem.", Saito said.
"That is interesting. Your hands glowing now. Maybe because of his title of being a familiar is the reason he might be feeling this.", thought Kazuko. The dozen bronze knight's went for Kazuko and Saito you stood your ground. Kazuko with one swipe sliced a few with no effort but Saito however, rushed directly in toward Guiche, slaying the rest like it was his job. Saito held the sword to Guiche's neck and he fell on his two timing ass.
"I surrender. Defeated by a peasant how is this possible?", he said out of fear and embarrassment. Kazuko looked amazed, Saito fought ferociously almost like he was his equal. While sloppy and without technique he was still fast and deadly.
"He went for him and took down all the knights in just 3 seconds. If he was trained well enough under my management even I couldn't outmatch him.", thought Kazuko. Saito drove his sword to the ground but then passed out on Louise, which was funny to Kazuko admittedly. Kazuko and Louise then took Saito back to her room and allowed him to recover from all the beating he was dished out.
"He took one hell of a beating. I'm not a medical expert and my powers are out of whack. We need something to help him recover otherwise he could be in for several night's of excruciating pain. It may be serious even.", said Kazuko.
"I can order a special potion that can help but that will cost a bit of money.", stated Louise.
"Well he's you're familiar Louise! He's your responsibility. Get going and hurry back." Louise left in a hurry and went in to town to get the healing potion she needed. Kazuko was still curious as to the details of Saito's new-found skill.
"The symbol on his hand was made after Louise made the contract, I have no doubt about that. And because he's her familiar now he must have been given some skill necessary to defend her." Louise came back after a few hours and administered the potion to Saito.
"There it will take some time for who know's how long for him to recover but he'll be fine.", she said.
"Glad to see you actually care for him. And hey, I understand being alone with nobody around there for you, more than you know.", Kazuko said to her.
"Well...thank you.", Louise replied.
They shook hands saying no hard feeling anymore. Kazuko looked outside and saw the crowd from the fight in complete awe. A peasant beats a familiar, it was unheard of until now. "Saito gained one hell of a reputation. And one good friend. Look's like our stay here won't be so bad after all.", thought Kazuko.
For the next few days Kazuko and Siesta of all people took care of Saito while he rested. On the third day he finally woke up three days later to the sight of Kazuko and Siesta. "Welcome back. You gave everyone quite a show.", said Kazuko.
"Indeed Mr. Saito.", said Siesta with a smile. She felt proud of him for standing up to that jerk after getting the full story from some the students and Louise including Kazuko. Siesta and the other servants thought he was cool and were starting to loo up to Saito as their hero. Saito inspired a lot of people now and Kazuko believed it wouldn't be the last.
The day after Saito's successful victory over Guiche, Saito's popularity skyrocketed. Kazuko then continued meditating by himself during the day while Louise and Saito were in class, and at night, and in the morning... really the guy needs to get a life in this world. Some of the girls began taking notice of Kazuko and thought he was kinda hot which he thought was an annoying development.
Among these people was Kirche, who now after a while Kazuko learned she was the most popular girl in the school and was also Louise's rival. She gave out the most flirtatious comments out of everyone else like she was trying to make Kazuko her boyfriend. When he wanted to be friends with her he didn't mean it to that extent. Now almost every day she passed him by she would always flirt with him and not talk like a normal person to him.
"You probably could cut anything with that sword maybe if you came over to my room tonight we can see if-", before Kirche could finish Kazuko cut her off immediately when it began getting to graphic.
"Stop! I don't want to know how your ending that so please don't! And I would appreciate the quiet while I'm learning how to get back to Japan!", Kazuko asked frustrated by her annoying persistence.
"Sorry I was only complimenting how strong you are.", Kirche stated trying to act like she wasn't flirting with him.
"I know what you were insinuating. And thanks for the compliment but please don't try to adding me to the list of people you've slept with here cuz that wont happen.", Kazuko replied.
"If your mad that I may cheat on you when were dating I'll leave my room open only for you.", Kirche hinted.
"The casual wardrobe your already wearing is enough to tell me how serious you'd treat it so thanks but I'll pass." Kirche left disappointed and left to try and seduce Saito unknown to anyone. Kazuko then took a break and began refreshing his sword skills.
Later that day after he spent the entire time training and meditating, he went back to Louise's room and finally got a mattress to finally sleep in. But he heard more commotion from outside. "Do I have to be woken up just as I begin to sleep in this place?!", he thought.
Kazuko went outside to see Louise standing near someone else's room. "Louise what's going-", then Kazuko saw Saito and Kirche together in a suggestive position. "Never mind I'll be going back to sleep.", he said leaving sheepishly.
Louise then dragged Saito out of the room and went back to her's to punish Saito. "You're just some mangy dog! You are going to be punished!", yelled Louise. She went and grabbed a whip from one of her drawers and began to inflict her punishment.
Kazuko saw her taking it out and grabbed it from her trying to make sure she doesn't attack Saito with it. "OK children the adult has come to resolve this situation CALMLY and RATIONALLY.", Kazuko said with emphasis on those two words. "Now first Saito how'd you end up with Kirche?", Kazuko asked.
"I was brought there by her salamander thing I swear!", Saito answered.
"OK you were forced in there and how exactly did you get in that AWKWARD position?", Kazuko asked.
"She just threw herself on me period!", Saito explained avoiding Louise's wrath.
"OK and Louise barged in there at the wrong time. So it's all a huge misunderstanding. Now with that said, can I please go back to sleep without anymore noise?!", Kazuko asked.
"Go then! I have no other reason to punish him if that's the case. But tomorrow I'll go buy him a weapon so that he can properly defend himself." said Louise.
"No argument here besides Saito would need some training if he decides to properly wield a sword. Well that's it for me I'm going to bed. And Saito don't get mixed up with Kirche she's trouble.", Kazuko warned. Kazuko went back to his sleep and hoped he could get at least 5 hours worth of it.
But that would have to wait as they heard a knocking on the door. The same salamander was sitting there waiting for Kazuko. "OK let me guess you want ME to go to Kirche's room. And ounce I do that then I can be left alone. Correct?", asked Kazuko to Kirche's familiar. It nodded and pointed to her room, "I'm starting to think that I have secret chick magnet I have no awareness of because this is ridiculous.", he said to himself. Kazuko entered the room hoping that it would be over soon. Kirche stood by her window waiting for him. "What is it I've got a lot of training tomorrow and I can't do much until I get some sleep!", Kazuko asked directly.
"Oh come on now isn't it better to have someone sleep with you other than sleeping alone?", Kirche answered him with a question.
"OK now that does it! I'm leaving! This is just crazy, besides I'm fully aware of you're reputation here as evident with Saito a minute ago. And it's not what I would call decent.", Kazuko replied.
"Oh but I wasn't serious I we just got a little extra friendly and I was asking him about you to be honest.", Kirche admitted.
"HA! I find it hard to believe. What is it about me that you just don't want to leave me alone?", Kazuko asked.
"Well I just became so interested in you that love hit me so fast that I want to try and get to know you. And maybe you could learn to fall in love with me too. It's always been a family trait of having burning passion for when we fall in love in the Von Zerbst family.", she explained.
"Sigh...well if I don't know. I don't have any real experience with these kinds of things. Besides I'm perfectly fine with my current living arrangements."
"Well think about it Kazuko. I'd be willing to share my bed and teach you more about world if you desire. Louise the Zero is more focused on her familiar and won't have time to teach you about our lifestyle but I have all the time in the world for you. Sleep on it.", she said waving her wand opening the door for you. You walked out thinking about her offer. You were too tired to give it any real thought so you went back to Louise's room and hit the mattress until Saito stole your spot. You then decided to spend it on the pile of hay left for him originally.
Kazuko woke up exhausted, he had a rough night sleeping on a pile of hay and was freezing. He shrugged it off and decided to try and take a small break by talking to some of his friends. Louise and Saito were already out so Kazuko decided maybe he could go see Siesta. As soon as he went outside he heard a horse galloping from the entrance. He wondered who was stopping by but he figured it was probably nothing.
A couple of hours later Kazuko saw Saito run toward him. "Kazuko!", Saito yelled running out of breath.
"Jeez whats the deal Saito?", Kazuko said a bit irritated.
"Siesta is gone!", Saito answered. Kazuko was out right shocked to hear the news and was focused on what Saito knew.
"What?! What happened and why didn't I hear about it from anyone else? Usually I hear gossip from around the institute.", said Kazuko.
"Well you never give anyone the chance since you train constantly it's hard to get a fix on you.", Saito did have a strong point.
Kazuko has only been training and meditating for hours by himself for days and has barely talked to his best friend for a while. Kazuko would have to settle this after they figured out where Siesta went.
"Listen I know it's not a big deal but Siesta is really good friend of mine and has been really nice to me since we got here.", Saito explained.
" Say no more. Count me in buddy.", Kazuko said grabbing Saito's hand in a bro fist manner. "Let's try asking the other servants, they'll know what happened.", Kazuko suggested. Later they found out that she was taken to work for a Noble named Count Mott and that she left early in the morning.
"Gone somewhere to work for another Noble?!", cried Saito.
"That may not be the entire story.", Kazuko said trying to calm him down. Kazuko then figured out that maybe Siesta left a few hours ago the same time when he heard someone leave the academy. "Hold the damn phone! I think I heard her leave this morning. Oh jeez I screwed up!", Kazuko realized.
"So then now what?", Saito said angrily.
"I'm sorry OK I have been so fixated on getting my powers back that I lost sight of my friends. But don't worry buddy we'll get her back!", Kazuko said.
"Derflinger you have any idea why she was taken?", asked Saito. Kazuko was confused as to who Saito was talking to and who was this Derflinger?
"In my experience if a Noble asks a peasant by name it means she's being taken to be his mistress.", said somebody.
"Who said that?", asked Kazuko looking around behind Saito.
"ME!", popping out of Saito's scabbard was his sword which apparently could talk. Kazuko heard that these swords carried much wisdom being an ancient an all.
"A talking sword? Now where do I get those.", Kazuko asked jokingly. Kazuko and Saito then decided to get more information about Siesta's relocated job. Reluctantly they had to ask Lord Guiche exactly where she was.
"Oh great interfering in my love life again?", asked Guiche. Kazuko then held out his sword to his throat and said, "Let's get this thing straightened out first where is the peasant who was taken this morning and where do we find them? Second treat Saito and myself with more respect whenever we walk by you or else I'll cut your lying throat off you thick head.", threatened Kazuko.
"OK! OK! I'LL TELL!", Guiche pleaded. Guiche told Kazuko everything and said where she might be at, after the interrogation Kazuko retrackted his sword back in his scabbard and and let him go quivering in fear of him.
Saito walked with Kazuko saying, "That may go down in history as the shortest interrogation ever." Kazuko told Saito where Siesta was most likely being held so they set out to the destination. An hour by horse later they made it to Count Mott's mansion. "OK you're going to talk to him, ask him for Siesta to come back, and hope he says yes. Were not going to barge in and intimidate him." said Kazuko.
"Fine. But what if he says no?" asked Saito. Kazuko wasn't sure but gave out a simple answer.
"Well...ask again and hope he says yes that time. If not I'll think of something else.", Kazuko answered.
Saito entered the mansion seeking an audience with him Kazuko waited for Saito since it was his request to have Siesta back, it was his battle. Saito came back out.
"What happened?", Kazuko asked. Saito was reluctant to answer but told him anyway knowing he wasn't going to like it.
"We gotta go back to the school and find Kirche.", Saito answered.
"Oh god no! I'm asking her for help! She's neither my type nor somebody who will give out favors for free!", Kazuko knew.
"We have to. If we don't then things will get ugly and we might cause more trouble than we can handle.", said Saito.
"Fine I'll ask but I know it's not going to be pleasant.", Kazuko complained. Saito and Kazuko left for the academy and went to find Kirche.
Louise came on her horse and intercepted them walking back to the academy. "Get on.", she ordered and took them back. She took them to her room and forbid them from helping Siesta.
"Come on Louise can you just give us some slack? Don't you even feel sorry for her?", asked Saito.
"It's out of our hands now both of you go to sleep. I don't want you to bring this up again and don't disobey me. Either of you understood?", Louise ordered. They nodded but Kazuko let himself quietly out of the room as soon as she was alseep and went to face Kirche himself.
"If I lose my way, may Nightmare torture my soul for all eternity so that I can cleanse myself of all the dirty nature she inflicts on my soul. UUUUGH.", Kazuko thought to himself. He entered the door and the torture commenced. "Kirche I need that family heirloom you showed off Saito earlier today. It's important to us that we take it. Please.", asked Kazuko.
"Oh well fine then. But in return you must have dinner with me.", Kirche responded.
" Oy. Very well if I do it please don't try flirting with me again and just leave me alone cuz this thing between us isn't going to work.", Kazuko said.
"Fine. But you have to treat it like a real date. Including asking me out in public. And do it soon.", Kirche said. She gave Kazuko the book and let him leave her room. Kazuko left with the book both relieved and horrified. "No price should be that high for this.", he grabbed Saito and took a horse back to the mansion. Kazuko and Saito entered the mansion with the book. They handed it to the count to his joy. "Ah yes the one thing to capture a man's desires.", Count Mott stated. When he opened it, what came out was a Japanese porn magazine. "OK that is incredibly weird, creepy, and just plain stupid all at ounce.", Kazuko thought.
"Saito you said that Kirche's family summoned it by accident?", Kazuko asked.
"Yeah and I know, it's weird. How'd that end up in this world of all places?", Saito asked. Siesta came out with her belongings and hugged Saito. She then proceeded to hug Kazuko which he didn't expect.
"Thank you.", Siesta said grateful to be out of the mansion and for their kindness. They all rode back with Siesta and she thanked Saito personally. Kazuko came up to Saito and said, "Saito I am sorry for being distant the past few days. I'm just worried that I won't be able to get my powers back.", Kazuko tried to explain.
"Hey Kazuko I understand and trust me it's alright to put time off toward your training. But you'll train a certain time of day so that you get a decent amount in and still socialize.", Saito said.
"Perfect with me, well good night cuz I need a LONG LONG LONG nights rest. Haven't had enough time to rest for nights.", Kazuko said. Before Saito could go back to Louise's room he was stopped by Siesta.
"Thank you I can't express how grateful I am for your help.", Siesta thanked.
"Hey in the end you would've done the same for me and Saito.", Saito reassured.
"Which is why I have been given a much stronger defense against the Nobility. I'm beginning to follow the examples you and your friend are both bringing out. You both seem to never give up no matter what. I was inspired by the both you and Mr. Kazuko and I will never let the same thing happen to anyone else.", Siesta said earnestly.
"That's interesting. But honestly it was nothing really. It's just I help out a friend whenever they're in trouble.", Saito replied.
"I'll spread hope to the servant's here that you and Kazuko are our swords against the Nobility as the head chef calls you two. Well good night and thank you.", Siesta said leaving.
"She's really nice...and she's not that bad looking either.", thought Saito.
Kazuko while pleased with the outcome of the rescue of Siesta, he still promised to take Kirche out in exchange for her family heirloom. He still had to keep his end of the bargain being an honorable man. Kazuko needed a tux so he thought of somebody who could provide him with one. "OK I may hate this whole thing however I have to do this seriously. Now I have to appear presentable as Saito said. But I need a tux for that sort of thing. Now who do I know that MUST have a tux. Guiche! His womanizing nature has to make him have at least something to wear for a date.", Kazuko went to find him.
"Hey Guiche.", Kazuko said in a peaceful manner.
"AH! Please don't come any closer I don't want to be sliced like a roasted boar!", Guich pleaded.
"Relax I need you're help...again.", Kazuko said hesitantly.
"With what exactly? If it's for anymore information then I'll tell you everything I know!", Guiche asked and pleaded.
"You don't happen to have a suit to wear on a date would you?", Kazuko said heavily implying that he needed a suit for that very reason.
"NO WAY! After the humiliation you inflicted both times to me, I would never do such a favor!", said Guiche.
"I don't blame you. I did treat you like crap since day one but in all honesty you didn't roll out the welcome wagon and be honest with yourself your kind of a jerk. So I say we let the past stay in the past. Truce? And then we'll start over?", Kazuko offered.
Kazuko held out his hand hoping to shake hands and end hostilities. Guiche reluctantly shook it but was glad he didn't have to cower before Kazuko anymore. "I can't say the same for Saito, but I hope that you plan to make amends with him too. There's potential in you and I think it be used better with you not wasting it on petty grudges.", Kazuko told Guiche.
"Yea and save myself the embarrassment. Well back to your situation. I think I have something you can borrow.", Guiche said. Later Guiche gave Kazuko his old suite. It was actually nice and it made Kazuko dashing. He reserved a table at a decent restaurant in town. Lastly in order to make this nightmare official Kazuko must, in public, ask her out.
"OK. I just have to ask her out then treat her to nice dinner and then it's over. She may be gorgeous but her personality is completely crazy. And by that she's kind of a whore. I've asked a few students and they all claim that she's slept with every dude in this institute. But regardless I have to do it. Maybe she was telling the truth about willing to change for me. Wait that implies I'm interested in her! Aw geez.", thought Kazuko.
It was the night before the date and Kazuko was not liking having to go through with this. He went to Louise's room and asked for advice on how to handle this. "Help me out here! I've never done this in my life! And I've lived for centuries! Saito you're the guy who's lived among people like this, you must have some experience!", pleaded Kazuko.
"Does an online dating game on my laptop count?", Saito asked hoping Kazuko would say yes.
"Never mind I forgot you weren't swell with the ladies on earth. Louise you know Kirche what should I do?", asked Kazuko. Louise glared at him like she was going to murder him if he asked again.
"Right she hates her. Why did I bother asking them to begin with. Can't ask Siesta that would be weird and Guiche's tactics probably wouldn't be good either. Well I'm screwed. I was hoping to have a strategy to make this as painless as possible but it will be a night I will regret for the rest of my life.", Kazuko thought. Kazuko lowered his head and felt like he it was hopeless before it started.
"Hey I have a piece of advice that could help.", said Saito, "I don't have any real experience but I always heard that you just have to be yourself and you'll be fine.", he said.
"Saito you're a genius! Thanks a lot.", Kazuko said. Soon everyone went to sleep with Kazuko trying to remain calm for tomorrow. As the sun began to rise Kazuko said to himself, "The day of the date has began."
Step 1: Ask her out in Public
Kazuko saw her in the grounds training her familiar, Flame. Kazuko was sweating and his heart pounded, but he took a large breath and began to speak. "Kirche...", she turned around giving him a seductive look that would win over any man's heart. "Ahem, Sorry never actually done this before.", Kazuko said embarrassed. She giggled along with other female students. That only made it harder than it needed to be but Kazuko persevered.
"Will you do me the honor of...Crap I don't think I can pull this off!...sigh, going out tonight with me? Whew my hearts racing at Mach 10 but it's over.", Kazuko thought to himself after asking Kirche out.
"Well I don't know Kazuko do you really want to take ME out on a date with you? You'll have to prove that your serious about it.", she said.
"THE HELL?! The deal was I ask you out and then we have the date what more you want from me?! I've made a reservation at a restaurant and borrowed one of Lord Guiche's own suits as a personal favor. If that doesn't work what will. Wait? Was it right to say a rented the tux from Guiche?", Kazuko thought trying to convince her to just move along with it.
"Ooh, nice offer but that's not enough to win a whole night with me. But I can tell your serious about it.", Kirche teased.
Kazuko was both angry and nervous about Kirche's deliberate extension of this one task. "Then exactly WHAT will make you spend a whole night with me then?", Kazuko said frustrated while grinding his teeth.
"Taking women out means you wanna try to start a relationship with someone and I believe ALL possible couples have to at least give each other a little kiss.", Kirche said.
"OH THAT'S THE LAST DAMN STRAW! IF SHE THINKS FOR ONE MOMENT THAT I'LL KISS HER THEN COUNT ME OUT! SCREW THIS! THAT'S WHERE I DRAW THE LINE! Hold it that's not what I agreed to.", Kazuko said while his thoughts seemed louder than his actual reply.
"Agreed to what? Beside's if you argeed to something wouldn't you keep your word?", Kirche asked.
"Fine! But if that's not going to make you go out with me then I'm done.", Kazuko said sweating bullets.
"Oh well after hearing that you've got yourself a certified date.", Kirche said in honesty.
"Oh thank god.", Kazuko said glad that the first phase was over.
"After that kiss.", Kirche said reminding him that it was over until that last little detail was met. "Goddammit."
Kirche then pulled out some lipstick and put it on her lips. She then pulled out her finger and made gesture to make Kazuko come over here. Kazuko sweated more than he had in his lifetime. He went over to her and began shutting his eyes and began getting closer to her lips.
"Oh my is that Saito being whipped by Louise again?", Kirche lied.
"What?", Kazuko opened his eyes turning his head around but was then pulled into Kirche's lips kissing her. Everyone gasped and Kazuko looked surprised and angry for being tricked into this. Admittedly it felt nice. Sudden and out of nowhere but nice. She let him go saying, "You've earned yourself a date. Pick me up at 9."
Kazuko left with his face bright red. A bunch of students laughed at being suckered by Kirche. Kazuko just went back to Louise's room trying to let the past few minutes sink in. He was relived yet terrified that it still was not over. That was only Phase 1! "Oh brother... I hope that it ends as quickly as I can make it happen.", Kazuko thought.
Saito was about to head out and clean Louise's laundry when he wondered how it went. "SO how'd it go?"
"That woman kissed me! She's nuts I'm telling you!", he yelled.
"Ahhh your so lucky..."
"What?"
"NOTHING! Just uhhh have to clean Louise's dirty laundry. Nothing at all, just my familiar duties hahaha."
"Your a terrible liar Saito I know your envying my situation but do us both a favor and don't. I'm spending the next few minutes cleaning my teeth and then sleeping until the hour of torment falls on me."
"I just said last night that it's supposed to be a fun time. You seem to want it to go well yet you feel like this is unusual punishment."
"You know something your right. But I don't know why I am acting like this."
"Well what's making you so mad?"
"I'm forced into this and I don't like what they say about my date cuz she seems like trouble."
"Well I'm not a mind reader but if you don't like her that much then why did you agree to it in the first place. You could have simply just scared her into giving the book like you did Guiche.", then Saito heard Louise coming in the door. "Oh no! I was supposed to be downstairs by now!", Saito freaked out.
"Hmmm. You got me thinking there Saito, thanks."
"You can show your thanks by helping me! Louise told me to do this half an hour ago."
"Why did it take you this long to get all her cloths in a basket and take them down to be washed?"
"No reason.", he quickly replied. Kazuko was confused but decided not to read to deep into his reasons he just quickly opened the door and left the room. To his surprise it wasn't Louise but some girl with blue hair and a long wooden cane.
"Kazuko?", she asked.
"That's me."
"Tabitha. Friend of Kirche. Nice to meet you.", she said very stoically. "Was curious about you."
"Uh thanks I'm flattered?", Kazuko didn't know why she was so odd. Maybe she was curious about being from a different world like Saito or maybe she was sizing him up for Kirche's sake. Or both it was hard to know. "I'm leaving. Nice to meet you.", she said leaving so abruptly.
"Saito all clear.", soon as Kazuko turned he saw Saito dumped all the laundry outside the window.
"Is she gone?"
"It wasn't Louise."
"Oh...well I better get down before", then a sudden explosion occurred just outside the window. "STUPID DOOOOOOOOOOG!"
"Run for our lives?", Kazuko asked.
"Yep.", Saito answered.
Step 2: Taking her to the Predestined Area of Scheduled Meeting
Kazuko spent the rest of the day listening to all the gossip about him and Kirche after nearly being mauled by Louise. So much so he couldn't even train today without having Louise explode him and Saito for dropping her own laundry on top of her head. Kazuko then went to her room to begin taking her out and walked to her door with flowers which he plucked from the school gardens. He knocked on Kirche's door and she opened it, "Well you weren't kidding when you said you got that suit from Guiche. You look hot but I'll need a moment.", Kirche said. Kazuko waited and as the door opened came out Kirche in a red dress and black gloves, she looked very stunning in it even Kazuko was a bit flustered by her appearance.
"Oh how thoughtful flowers for me? Oh you must really want to be with me.", Kirche teased.
"I'm only doing this because I'm holding up my end and when this is over I plan to never do this again.", Kazuko reminded her.
"Oh you're so pessimistic. Just enjoy and learn from the master of love, how to have a great time with a woman.", Kirche said seductively. They went to the carriage waiting for them and Kazuko sat still and stiff hoping it would end soon. But then Kirche came next to him and held him close which he didn't like but quickly he began to relax and enjoy it. She was flirtatious but still managed to retrain herself for the occasion.
"You seem to be feeling more relaxed.", she noticed. Kazuko didn't say a word, he thought anything he said would be turned against him. "You know you can talk to me while were on the date. It's part of two people trying to get to know one another."
"I thought you were trying to make me your boyfriend?"
"I was teasing you. Your funny when your angry. You haven't done this before haven't you? Yet you seem to know all about chemistry."
"I get the basics."
"Hehehehehe. It's not often a man keeps me interested, they just date me because of my beauty. But that's not even the reason why your doing this. Sure it was because you owed me but your not trying to get lucky with me. Its refreshing."
"I'm not sure to be grateful or awkward."
"Well for now how about we just enjoy our company and see how things turn out from there."
Step 3: The Dinner part of the Date. Aka: Halfway there!
The pair came in with Kirche holding his arm which he expected but was still annoyed. They sat in a round table on the balcony of the restaurant with the two ordering their food. They started staring at each others eyes for a full minute. Kazuko looked away blushing trying to hide it. "Well if tonight's supposedly our one night to date tell me about yourself you wouldn't tell others that aren't close to you.", Kirche asked.
"Well I think that's a bit abrupt all things considered.", Kazuko said trying to hide his past.
"Very well, to loosen you up I'll start with myself. I went to the academy because my parent's wanted me to marry an old man. Which was a horrible idea so I enrolled to get back at them.", Kirche said. Kazuko was very shocked hearing her tell him such a personal truth so suddenly.
"Well that's rough, I don't have many parental issues. In fact I wish I had any at all.", Kazuko said letting slip the fact his parents were dead.
"Oh I'm sorry, your parent's leave you?", Kirche wondered.
"No it's more-", Kazuko felt the pain of his past resurface making things worse for him.
"Never mind, forget I brought it up.", Kirche said dropping the subject. "Thank you.", replied Kazuko.
They shared dinner together and continued to talk more about their hobbies, likes and dislikes, and even a bit about their own history about their friends. "Tabitha and I go far back. She's like family to me."
"Saito's kinda like that to me."
"Louise the Zero's familiar?", she asked.
"I appreciate you not calling her that name anymore. She's not much when it comes to magic but she doesn't deserve that demeaning name.", you said defending Louise.
Kirche decided that if he felt so strongly about her saying that name, then she would start to end her use of it when bringing up Louise. "OK then I swear on it. So any way how did you and him meet?"
"I got-", Kazuko was reminded of his hunt for Nightmare and so he decided to skip past that part as it brought too much pain. "Just...I was hurt badly and he carried me to his home. After he patched me up I lived with him ever since and we've been best friends the whole time. He knows certain things about me that I can't figure out and I know a few things about him he can't for the life of him understand on his own. We fix each others flaws in a way. Like brothers.", he answered.
"You say brothers like you really think of him as one."
"Maybe I do." They finished their meal but the carriage wouldn't pick them up for another hour. Kazuko didn't know what else to do in a situation like this. Kirche noticed he had no idea how pass the time but then she saw a few people in the town square dancing in the candlelight. She grabbed him and began dancing with him. "Whoa hey I have no idea how to dance.", Kazuko said whispering to Kirche.
"Don't sweat it, just grab my waist and flow with my movements. And don't step on my feet.", she said.
Kazuko tried doing as she said and oddly he was dancing with her very fluidly even if he didn't know he was doing it so well. After a minute he started getting more comfortable with it and he began really enjoying himself. Kirche was then taken by another young dance partner along with Kazuko but they managed to dance their way back into each others arms. For some reason, Kirche looked differently to him, she suddenly seemed human. She didn't make him annoyed or angry in fact she made him feel normal. Like he forgot for a moment about all of his worries and problems.
Soon enough they had such a good time they left their ride waiting for them by six minutes. Kirche and Kazuko got in and this time Kazuko initiated the physical contact and wrapped Kirche close around her gently. "Thanks for saying yes to this.", Kazuko said.
"Your very welcome. I was surprised by your change of mood, this morning you looked like you didn't want to go through with it."
"Well like I said Saito fixes my flaws that I can't fix on my own."
"Well tell him I said thanks and that I owe him for getting to spend such a wonderful night with you."
"I will."
"You know Kazuko, we can do this again if you want?", Kirche asked.
"You know what I just might take you up on that offer. I've never felt like this before, having... a normal life."
"What do you mean?"
"It's a long story."
"Well maybe you can begin to tell me when we do this again?"
Kazuko smiled and replied, "Certainly."
Step 4: Ending it. On a High Note
"Thank you so much for the date I had fun.", said Kirche.
"Yeah so did I.", Kazuko replied feeling happy it ended better than he expected.
"That was the whole point of this.", Kirche revealed.
"What?", Kazuko asked.
"I wanted you to ask me out because Saito told me you never had a real date before. So I wanted you to get a taste of how the dating round is first hand.", Kirche revealed.
"You did all of this drama just to make me have a great time?", asked Kazuko.
"Yep and I think you'll make a girl very lucky and happy assuming there's no one else?", Kirche asked.
"No one, especially not one like you."
"Well it's late so you better go back to Louise's room before you wake them coming back from this."
"Well...do you mind I stay here...tonight?", Kazuko asked.
"Wait? You mean in my room? After what you heard?"
"I'm...thinking of giving you a clean slate. And I don't want to leave just yet."
Suddenly Kirche pulled Kazuko in her room and pulled him into a deep passionate kiss. She had her arms wrapped around his neck and whispered, "You can stay with me as long as you want to." Kazuko felt the blood rushing through his head feeling her warm body so close to his. She gently kissed him again and then they collapsed on to her bed.
They took off their good cloths and went and snuggled up with one another not going any further than one would assume. That night Kazuko ended up doing what he thought would never do two nights ago.
