Next early morning
Simba usually is the first one to wake with the sun just rising over the horizon as he is this time, he carefully steps over lionesses to get to where Nala is as he nudges her as soon he got enough reach Simba:" Nala" he says whispering trying to get his friend to wake up Simba:" Nala wake up" he nudges again as Nala groans as she opens her eyes and stretches after getting up. Simba:" you ready to patrol?" he still whispers Nala:" I guess so" she says starting to carefully step over lionesses. Once they were outside and got down from the priderock they looked to see where to start Nala:" so you know where to start?" Simba:" umm..." he says unsure Simba then sees a path that looks like where his father takes judging by the paw printed tracks being slightly bigger than his. Simba:" I think this is the way dad goes " Nala:" you sure?" Simba nods "yeah you see those paw prints, those are dads" Nala didn't bother to argue and just went with it as they started to follow the path.
About two hours go by and they're still walking the path and looking around as they talk and walk, Simba:" see anything suspicious?" Nala:" no nothing yet" then after a half an hour they were at the very far back of the pridelands where they have to make a left or they'll be inside of the outlands where it is forbidden for pridelanders to enter or possible danger will occur. As they walk the look at the outlands and seeing how different it is then the prideland Nala:" Wow" Simba:" it looks... dead" as the sight of grey like dead grass low water Nala:" no wonder we were told not to go this far" she says stopping without Simba knowing as he walks into a animal that's been sitting in front of their way. Simba looks up at the some what taller animal that appears to be an hyena, Simba got up and growled at the hyena while standing in front of Nala to give her protection if the hyena tries something that might hurt her.
Simba:" what business do you have here you know your not aloud here." he says to the hyena, Banzai:" (hyena laugh) I got no business to be here but just looking for food, and what gives you the right to command anyway?" Simba:" by order of the King you and your kind are not aloud here" Banzai:" Well I- wait a minute," he looks Simba and Nala a little closely " Your Mufasa's son aren't you?" Simba didn't want to answer to that but he had nothing else to say "and?" Banzai gives an hyena laugh and yells over at a junkyard of bones near the border, Banzai:" Hey, Shenzi!, Ed! come out here!" Shenzi puts her head out from a a cave like den Shenzi:" what is it now Banzai? Last time it was Mufasa roaring at us because we picked a fight." she says then sees Simba and Nala Shenzi:" Oh I see" she says licking her lips as Ed who was behind here also licked his lips seeing the teen lions Ed:" Oh *outrageous uncontrolled laughter and licks lips*" Simba prepared his almost adult like claws for a fight as Nala does also but in the same way feels a bit nervous not wonder how will this play out, Banzai then growled at the two along with Shenzi and Ed surrounding them growling getting ready to pounce and before they did Simba quickly pushed Nala out of the circle as he was dog piled by the hyenas. Nala:" SIMBA!" she tried to get one off which she did as Simba pushed the remaining two off clawing and biting at the ones that got close and once Nala set Banzai running she ran and tackled Shenzi make them go rolling over each other.
While Nala was fighting, Simba was fighting Ed who was getting some hits in but Simba always stops them with a swipe from his paw, and as he was fighting he was making sure Nala wasn't getting doubled teamed, luckily she wasn't but behind them he can see Banzai sneaking up on her getting ready to strike at what seems like a neck strike but he decided not to because he seen Simba looking at him so he decided to get Simba who seems of getting weaker. Before Simba could look back at Ed, Ed headbutted him, making Simba dizzy and about to fall off his feet, and with that being done it was a chance for Banzai and Ed to jump on him as so they did sending Simba do the ground and started to bite him and claw him making him bleed from his side.
Nala tried her best to get to Simba but Shenzi keeps getting in her way making her stop. Nala couldn't take it anymore so grabbed Shenzi by her leg and dragged her making her slide behind her, and before Nala got a chance to walk Shenzi tripped her as Shenzi was sliding. Nala tired to get up but Shenzi got her pinned to the ground. Then out of nowhere a loud roar not from Simba but from the way priderock is as Mufasa come running ramming the two hyena's on Simba making them go sailing back on their side of the border. Nala felt relived to see Mufasa coming to save them again, as Nala was able to get up again as Shenzi fled to the other side of the border with Ed, and Banzai as they both ran away on their side disappearing. After that Mufasa and Nala almost ran into each other trying to get to Simba first who was as weak as a new born cub with a big claw cut to his side, front left leg and back right leg. Mufasa:" SON you ok speak to me!" Simba was fading back and forth from being passed out to still awake Simba:" uh... ye..ah" he says in a painful tone Nala didn't want to say because the fear for Simba's life is keeping her from saying anything and the fear is making tears fall from her face.
Mufasa:" Nala help me carry him" he says putting half of Simba's body on his back as Nala followed as commanded putting Simba's other body half on her back, and started to walk a little fast towards pride rock. As they reached Pride rock Sarabi was looking from the top of pride rock looking down from it seeing Nala and Mufasa carrying Simba, Sarabi gasp in shock as she runs down from the top and made it to the ground and yelled for help from the lionesses as she and the lionesses ran to help carry Simba into the cave of the pride rock as they get him from Nala and Mufasa, then quickly got him up the stairs with Nala following close behind into the cave and set him down in the middle of the cave of pride rock and leaves him there to heal after Sarabi checked his wounds which are luckily not life threatening.
With Simba passed out Nala laid next to him to give him company, and she didn't leave his presents not even to hunt with her mother no matter how badly she wanted to try hunting again and the only time she leaves is to get a drink of water but she always run back. After a few hours Mufasa walk in to find Nala laying next to injured Simba, as Mufasa didn't want to interrupt, he called Nala to come out to talk Mufasa:" Nala" Nala looked to see Mufasa, Mufasa singled her to come out, Nala looked at Simba making sure he wasn't woken yet then quickly got up and fast walked outside to see what Mufasa wanted.
Nala:" you wanted to see me sir?" she says sitting next to him who was looking at the pride lands from the top of pride rock Mufasa:" yes, I wanted to ask you, what were you two doing out there?" Nala:" patrolling," Mufasa got a little annoyed but quickly calmed Mufasa:" disobeying me again, (sigh) this is the second time with you two, this time you actually get in a fight" Nala:" I think Simba wanted to prove to you that he can patrol just like you just as good" Mufasa:" (sigh) he just don't get that there's dangers in this world that he needs to learn and realize" Nala:" I believe that he does just that he is so focused on impressing you and proving you with things that he forgets how young he still is along with me" Mufasa:" so why did you go with him?" Nala:" just so that he don't get into anything dangerous and to help him get out of trouble" "and when that fight started they're were circling us and right before they jumped Simba pushed me out of the circle when I was prepared and ready." she looks down towards the ground " I'm still regretting for not trying hard enough to help him" Mufasa:" Nala you did the best you could to help, it was mostly the hyena's holding you back from that flame of yours to be released" Nala smiles feeling a bit better.
As they were talking they heard painful moans, they looked to see where they're coming from, and it was Simba trying to get down the steps limping badly, Mufasa jumped down from pride rock and landed in front of Simba Mufasa:" whoa son you need to rest" Simba:" but dad I'm thirsty" Mufasa:" we'll get you some water just go back in the cave" Simba sighed and slowly made his way up the stairs and limped back inside with Nala behind him. As Simba laid down he seen Nala follow him and caught him by surprised when she almost ran quick to nuzzle Simba, not the nuzzle to say hello or thanks but the loving nuzzle, with joy of tears about to run her face she nuzzled Simba for a few minutes then whispered " thank heavens your ok and breathing healthy" says pulling away, Simba was kinda shocked when she nuzzled him but finally said " thank heavens your ok" Nala:" why did you push me out of the circle? I could of helped you" Simba:" because it was two on three with that extra weight being jumped on us we would both be down possibly dead right there so I decided that you should be the one to survive this or get the less wounds" Nala didn't say anything but just laid down next to Simba and put her head on his shoulder nuzzling and with that she gave him a lick on the cheek and a pur. Which made Simba not only shocked that his best friend is loving on him but he hopes that she feels the same way that he feels about her, with that in mind they both fallen asleep together smiling with no one bothering them not even bothering them when they walked pass them to sleep themselves when the sun went down.
*Next morning*
As the morning sun rises Simba would be up by this time, but this time he's gonna have to be the last to wake not only because of his injuries but because he's in the best position he'd been hoping for being in loving arms with Nala who is still sleeping next to Simba with her head resting on his shoulder. Several hours went by as Simba was finally waking up seeing Nala still asleep which made him smile. "wow she even looks cute a pretty when she's sleeping, is there anything she does when she don't look pretty" he says in his head. As much Simba wanted to stay where he is, he needs to get to the water hole because his mouth and throat was as dry as the sun making him pant for water, Simba carefully got Nala off his shoulder without her waking up or slamming her head on the hard rock ground and limped out of the cave heading towards the water hole.
Meanwhile at the hyena's hideout place Banzai was fuming that Mufasa interrupted their attack on Simba and Nala again while Shenzi is laying down listening to his rants and Ed just sitting clueless. Banzai:" (growl) I'm getting sick and tired of Mufasa interrupting us getting food everytime there's is a chance" Shenzi:" at least he were closer than we were when they were cubs, getting one of them injured atleast" and without them knowing someone said from the top of a little platform " So you got one injured?" Banzai nodded yes then the figure moved his head out of the shadows turning out to be Scar "wonderful" he says with a evil grin then jumping down from the platform to where the hyenas are at Scar:" now that one is weak and the other is going to be helpless when alone I got an idea to bring us to rule the land" Shenzi:" how?" she says lifting her head to look at Scar. Scar told them his plan "but we got to wait for the right moment" the hyenas nodded understanding.
Back at the pridelands Simba finally limped his way to the water hole. Simba:" finally something to drink" he says leaning his neck down to get a cool refreshing drink quenching his mouth and throat. Simba:" ahhh" he says feeling refreshed and sat in front of the waterhole so that he can get a little fresh air and it feels good to Simba to be outside again as he breaths in and out getting the fresh air into his lungs. After a few minutes Simba got up about to head back but before he got a chance he was stopped by the sight of Nala heading his way in the distance, he gotten an idea to frighten her for fun so he quickly went into the tall grass and ducked low so that he won't be seen. As Nala went by him without noticed she said " what? he's not here I could of sworn I've seen him here" she says with a confused tone Simba was trying to hold a laugh so he jumped out of the tall grass Simba:" BAA" he screams making her jump in fear Nala:" Simba, you little cub" she says giggling Simba:" you looked more like a cub when you screamed" he says also giggling after he says that Nala nuzzles him and he nuzzles back. Nala:" I'm still glad your still ok" she says breaking away from the nuzzling "so hows your wounds" Simba looks down at his side which the blood dried leaving a dirty scab, Simba:" my front leg is still kinda sore other than that I'm feeling better" Nala is happy to hear that as she smiles " that's really good to hear" she says nuzzling him again and he does the same.
As they were nuzzling then breaking away Scar comes running to Simba, Scar:" Simba come here quick" Simba:" Nala stay here" he says then running with Scar to where ever he leads him which he leads him to a gorge, Simba:" so what's the big deal?" Scar:" your father went down there to inspect something and I haven't heard from him for a while" without question Simba climbed down from the top of the gorge. Simba looked around " I don't see him" Scar:" keep looking I'll go get help, also roaring might help let him know your here" as Scar left Simba knew his roar wasn't fully matured yet which meant he can't roar loud at all, Simba:" great" but he tried anyways.
As Scar was running he ran to the end of the river crack where there is a heard of wildebeests and behind the heard is the three hyena's waiting patiently for Scar to give the signal to start the stampede. Banzai:" ooh Scar better hurry I'm starting to not resist" Shenzi:" You better resist or Scar will be on us for sure" as she got done saying that Scar comes over the little hill which is their signal Shenzi sees Scar Shenzi:" ok that's our signal" then the three started to do what they were told to do, and once Scar seen them doing so Scar ran as fast as he can to where Mufasa really was luckily not anywhere hard but at the waterhole opposite side of where Nala is. Scar comes running to his older brother, Scar:" Mufasa brother, (tries to catch breath) stampede in the gorge, Simba is down there" Mufasa:" He's what?!" he says running towards the gorge where the stampede has already took effect, Simba was out front trying to stay ahead but the wildebeests overtook him and he started to fall in the middle of the stampede, he knows that if he stops now he'll get trampled but his sore front leg is not helping along with him running out of breath making him slow down and then stopped with head down.
Scar:" There over there" he says pointing to Simba for Mufasa, as Mufasa goes running for Simba while Scar stays up top watching how this will play out. Simba tried his best to stay out of the way but everytime he moves it seems like they keep coming right at him and the second he moved the wrong way a wildebeests comes hitting Simba in the injured area making it hurt, cut open and bleed again . Finally after a little bit Mufasa finally made it Simba picking him up and carrying him on his back since he's too heavy and big for his mouth. Mufasa managed to get by the other layers of wildebeests on the same side he came down from and put Simba to the side where it's safe but then gets pushed and dragged a little by a wildebeest. Simba:" NO DAD!" he screams in horror seeing his father being swooped away by a wildebeest. After Simba was looking to see where he might be Mufasa made a huge leap to the wall of the gorge. Simba was a little happy that he got out but Simba wanted to meet him at up top where Scar was so Simba turned around and found away to get up. As Simba was doing that Mufasa was about to make it out but as he climbs he slips more and more, then he sees scar right above him looking at him.
With Scar being the only one there Mufasa has no choice but to ask Scar for help, Mufasa:" Scar, brother please help me!" he says as his back legs are slipping everytime he tried climbing, with Scar taking a second he slammed his claws and paw on Mufasa's making marks and bleeding along with him roaring in pain, Simba heard it from a higher point but he gotten himself where he couldn't see his father or anything on his right so he just has to hope that he made it up. Simba:" I can't see him, come on make it" but few moments after he said that there he can see his father falling face up falling within range of the stampede. With fear in his eyes all Simba could do is just yelling in disbelieve mixed with sorrow " no no no NOOOOOOOOOOOO" then the stampede starts slowing down because the heard is about through. As soon the last wildebeest goes through, Simba slides down the steep gorge wall as fast as he could to find his father with a chance that he could still be alive.
Simba:" Dad?" he said in a worried voice, no answer Simba:" DAD!" he then yells getting more worried, he looked further up the gorge and sees a corpse underneath a fallen dead tree. Simba:" Dad?!" he says in nervous and worried tone and runs to his fallen father. Simba stands there looking at his father's motionless body, Simba:" dad wake up" he says nudging him... no response Simba:" come on Dad, Moms going to get worried, please wake up" says nudging him more... again no response. Simba did it several more times until he finally gives up, facing the fact that his father is gone, lifeless, sole less. Simba starts to cry, and lays next to his lifeless father, with emotions running around in his head weather if he should be angry, depressed, sad, alone, cheated, and other emotions as Scar walks up behind the teen lion, Scar:" Simba how could you?" he says blaming his only nephew Simba got up and turned around looking at his uncle with tears "I-I-I didn't- I didn't meant or - wanted this to happen" he says with tears falling from his eyes some more Scar puts Simba under his arm "oh of course you didn't mean this to happen... but the king is indeed dead..." he looks at Simba " but it wouldn't for you he'll still be alive" Simba was too emotional to say anything or question but he managed to find words with in the emotion Simba:" what am I gonna do? , if I go back they all are gonna hate me with disgrace" he said with his head hung low Scar:" there could be the only thing you can do" Simba looked at him to listen.
Scar:" Run... Run away and never return" Scar looks up at the top of the gorge and hears the other lionesses must be looking for them Scar:" go hurry there's not much time until they catch you" Simba hesitated for a second then started to slow run and then fast furthering up the gorge that leads to a wide open area and a drop to a thorn patch and beyond that is a desert. Simba sighed and jumped down at the thorn patch landing softly but got a long bloody scratch from a thorn but Simba ignored the pain running through his injured leg and side. Once he got out of the thorn patch and into the desert he took one last look back where he can only see the top of Pride rock and where he came then turned his head forward and started running while tears still roll out from his eyes not only knowing his father is dead or the pride will hate him but now knowing he won't be able to see Nala or his mother ever again and if he does return in any near future both would possibly either hate him or Nala been taken by another lion. But he has no choice but to run away in fear of being hated for causing his fathers death.
Meanwhile back where Scar was at, Scar made it back up top after taking a look at his now dead brother, he takes a deep breath trying to stop the sorrow which he did successfully, as the search party of lionesses reaches him. Sarabi:" Scar where's Mufasa and Simba?!" she says in a mother and wife worried tone, Scar has to act it out so he let some of the sorrow flow but not enough for him to admit his crime. Scar with a sorrow filled tone "oh tragic, he's been trampled to death along with Simba" everybody gasped in shock and Sarabi was speechless and shock before falling into tears Scar:" if you don't happen to believe me take a look your self Mufasa's body is down there but Simba's was picked up by the wildebeests and took to another location" the lionesses except Sarabi and Sarafina went to down to take a look themselves, Sarafina in also sorrow with head down like Sarabi, Sarafina:" how are we gonna tell Nala?" which Nala was told to stay home Sarabi shook her head hinting she don't know but unable to speak because of how much emotion is put on her losing both husband and only son.
Sarabi just turns around towards pride rock and walks alone in deep sorrow and Sarafina follows her friend shortly after. Scar took another deep breath and shakes the sorrow off.
Several hours later Simba was simply walking now to save energy and not use too much energy but being thirsty isn't helping with Simba's energy as he sees vultures fly up high in the sky over another dead carcass of what looked like a broken down wildebeest that must of died from dehydration. Simba walks by it starting to think death himself, knowing there's nothing for him anymore, no home, no love from anyone not even his mother who he thinks is probably hating him right now, no respect, no pride, no trust, no where to go, nothing to live for. So Simba decided to walk a little bit more but what he didn't know is that before he could walk any further his sore bleeding body has decided to give up due to the heat and lack of water making him collapse on the hot dry desert ground and closes his eyes knowing that the end for him is coming.
Back at the pridelands Sarafina has got done telling Nala the tragic news about Simba and Mufasa. Nala didn't know what to say or how to act as she exits priderock and finds a place to be left alone. She approaches the hill that leads off a cliff the same location that her and Simba looked at the stars at couple of nights before and lets all of her tears flow and sorrow fill her body as she cries at the edge of the cliff laying down. Nala heartbroken, feelings hurt, emotions running sorrowful, not knowing who to talk to now or play with or love anymore since the one she loves is gone and the one she always goes to is also gone. The sun sets on the unhappy day and night falls as Nala didn't move from where she was, remembering what Simba has told her about the great kings of the past looking down and looking over her and everyone else, so she finally looked up at the night stars and said:" Simba I know your up there king or no king I know you can see me from way up there" "but I just can't see you from way down here" she says in a very sorrow voice with more tears flowing knowing in reality that she's just talking to a sky filled with speechless stars. Nala knew it was getting very late but she could careless if she gets yelled at from her mother for staying out too late, because all she wants to do tonight and hopefully tomorrow is to be alone.
As the sun rises over the savannah, Scar was crowned king but instead of him roaring letting the other animals know like they usually do when new a new king or queen is crowned, Scar didn't care for it nor wanted to do so, all he wanted was to be king and all of the lionesses were not happy but it's the way it has to be since current king was killed so was the Simba who was next in line, had to be given to the next up in line by family, and since Scar is the only one male part of the royal family still known to be alive, they had no choice but to give to Scar. As soon he was king he gave a speech of new changes like Hyenas joining the pride and will be treated like family, which the lionesses tried but the hyenas gave no respect and had countless fights with the lionesses with Scar punishing the lioness even though they wasn't the ones who started it, Hyenas don't have to hunt but the lionesses still do and the hyenas get most of the food while the lionesses are left with whats left on the bone which mostly is nothing.
