Chapter 2: Rescue Mission

Even though it felt like hours, in mere seconds Eirian was pulled upon the ship. Her heart was racing in her chest. She was being abducted by aliens and there was nothing she could do to escape. Despite helping expeditions to prove there might be life on other planets or at least other planets where life could be sustained, she had never thought anything concrete would truly be discovered. But now she was witnessing first hand that there actually was life outside of planet Earth and Eirian was going to get a first-hand account of whether or not they would actually come in peace.
As the tractor beam finally relinquished control of her muscles back to her, she straightened up and prepared to ask exactly why she had been brought aboard this ship in the first place. If she was going to be on a potentially hostile ship, remaining calm and making it clear she was no threat would be imperative. Just as the thought crossed her mind, she was blindsided. A member of the ship's crew full on tackled her to the ground and quickly tied her up, binding her hands and feet with rope.
So much for high tech, she thought to herself as she observed her captors. Unless they were wearing completely flawless costumes, these creatures were not human. They were all wearing what appeared to be green cargo pants and brown tops, but that was where the similarities stopped. The alien leaning over her had ears that ended in a sharp point and skin the color of puce. If that wasn't enough to prove it was an alien, the third eye definitely was.
As he leaned closer, he inquisitively asked, "Who are you and what the quiznack are you doing out here?"
As Eirian opened her mouth to respond another alien, this one with blotchy orange skin, cuts her off by saying, "What do you think she was doing, Zander? She was probably working with the Galra to make sure there weren't any more Earthers left on that moon. We should drop her off at the nearest asteroid and be done with her."
At the thought of being stranded in space with no way to get back to her base or call for help, given her communicator was still in her ship, Eirian quickly put in, "My name is Eirian Shirogane and I am not working with the Galra. I don't even know what that means. I was just looking for my brother."
"A likely story," another alien with a tail and blue skin scoffed. "We know very few of you Earthers ever come into space. The odds of your brother being on that moon are-"
"I'm not lying!" Eirian interrupted frustratedly, unable to listen to these aliens ramble on for another minute. "My brother, Shiro, was on that moon with two members of his crew. It was reported a few days ago that his ship crashed and I had to see it for myself. I was looking for him when you found me. I'm not working with these Galra because again, I don't even know what that means. I'm just trying to find my brother so we can return to Earth. That's all." Hoping her plea worked, Eirian gazed at each alien, praying at least one of them would believe her story. She hadn't come this far just to be chucked into the vast void of space by some aliens.
After a moment the splotchy one untied her before saying, "Follow me. If your brother was on that moon, this footage may be helpful in your search for him."
"Nyx, are you sure that's such a good idea? She might not like what she sees." the one with the tail cut in.
Not stopping to turn around, Nyx simply replies, "Trinity, she needs to see what's in that footage. If it truly is her brother, she has a right to know."
Letting out a sigh of relief, Eirian quickly followed Nyx over to a monitor. After fiddling with the switches a video popped up. While the feed wasn't exactly high definition, it was clear that what had happened to Eirian was also happening on the tape. But unlike the ship Eirian was on, the ship collecting who she recognized as Shiro and the two scientists who were with him was huge. It was larger than Kerberos with a vast array of weapons along its side. With bated breath, she watched as Shiro and the others tried to run away but they inevitably wound up caught in the tractor beam's light before finding themselves sucked inside. A second later the ship was gone, seemingly vanished as though it took off at light speed, something no ship on Earth was quite yet capable of.
As the screen faded to black, Nyx turned towards Eirian and asked, "Were you able to recognize your brother?"
Nodding, Eirian says, "Yes, Shiro was there."
At that, Nyx exchanges a mournful look with the rest of the crew before saying, "Then he was abducted by the Galra."
"Is there any way I can get him back?" Eirian asked, turning to look at them.
"There is a possible way, yes, but it would be risky," Trinity informs her.
Crossing her arms, Eirian says, "I don't care how risky it is. I plan on rescuing my brother. Are you guys going to help me or can I go back to my ship now?"
Smirking, Zander points out, "Oh, we're going with you. We're rebels, so it's basically our thing to purposefully go out of our way to tick off the Galra."
A surge of hope washed over Eirian at his words. Not only was she going to find her brother, and the rest of the crew while they were at it, she was going to have help. High tech alien rebel help. Elated by the current turn of events, she asks, "Great. So what's the plan?"
